AMC Alum Joins General Hospital
I've been waiting for that announcement to drop LOL. Even without Mathison coming onboard they needed to address the Hayden situation. This just makes it feel like it's coming anyday lol.

GH April 2021 Discussion
I will pass on Valentin and Carly as a pairing. LMAO whaaaat? I do like their scenes together and he gets under skin and JPS has the best reactions. Valentin has really come into his own since they gave the crying weepy villain thing to Cyrus.

It's honestly so inconsistent. And Cyrus is laughable. Laura should laugh in his face. His ego couldn't take it. He'd cry to mommy. I tried to give MacMullen a chance, for quite a while now, but she's so blah. She sort of had chemistry with Swickard, but he has chemistry with a tree. I'm sure Hallmark can use her (not a diss towards her) I like Mattsson and Sasha did have potential, but they kind of made her a non-starter with all the crap they gave her. I think she kind of has chemistry with Wactor/Brando, but I just don't care about either of them. Sasha could have been another retcon of Scott's or Mac's. Why not? LOL. But it probably wouldn't matter. Willow should have been Christina, Lucy's daughter.

lmao! So true. Captain Hook is PERFECT. I laugh when he makes threats. Preach. I hate this forced coupling. Time to dump Willow AND Sasha. Sasha has potential but they don't seem to care, even with her thing with Brando. I still keep waiting for her to be killed somehow LOL. She's a throwaway. Time to bring back Serena and either cast Sarah or bring back Hayden. We don't really need Sasha or Willow.

Michael Woods was sexy AF playing Jim but yeah he was never the strongest actor (remember his stint as Alec Woods on ATWT LOL, with him clean shaven you almost wouldn't know it was him). Jim didn't feel needed though. Just a younger, sexier replacement for Justin IMO. But I would have kept Justin and had him mentoring Jim. Anywho ... I didn't mind what I've seen of Hillary and Jim, though I don't think Marsha Clark really has much "hot" chemistry with anyone she's paired with. I do like several of her pairings but I can see why they never really "took off". Clark and Jay Hammer seemed to have some chemistry. Early Fletcher is so much better than later Fletcher.

B&B and Y&R episode counts - no more - sorry
God, no lies here. THANK YOU @FrenchFanfor all of your hard work over the years. It isn't always easy to do the counts. Thank you!

AMC Alum Joins General Hospital
Roger and Valentini can run off together and live happily ever after for all I care at this point. It's ridiculous Howarth remains employed and has had how many roles? I don't mind Mathison but all I'm doing is asking "whyyyyyyy?". Is there a larger plan in play? I doubt it. It would be stupid to have him be Ryan. It would open up too many questions. Who knows what Pine Valley has in mind. Same for Todd and the stans who cling to Howarth playing him again. It's stupid and they should fire the people who suggested it immediately. Side note, I will say it amuses the hell out of me to watch the Billy Miller stans lose their minds on Twitter when anyone suggests someone as a Drew recast. LMAO. It's delightful. And like, I'm sure a vet like Jon Lindstrom or Lisa Lo would like a contract again. Or maybe not? LOL. They still work enough. But like ... Frank you suck. They do well at times with the vets then they disappear for months/weeks on end and get tossed an episode or two. Where the [!@#$%^&*] is Lucy? Felicia's long gone. Bobbie and Monica get the occasional bone tossed their way. Has Bobbie had any scenes with her recast son Lucas? Nope. You'd also think with Carly being on 5 days a week that it would open up airtime opportunities for Bobbie and Lucas but nope. LOL. Although kudos to them for throwing Bobbie into the stupid Florence story. Though we've seen her once.

Days recast
I think it's Ron. I do think he believes in Lumi being endgame but you have to tell the story to get there. I don't trust it though. I mean, if they recast EJ, they aren't going to just dump him when Alison inevitably leaves. It probably makes more sense to write out Lumi together and have them pop in together, leaving EJ freed up on the canvas. But who knows? It's Ron. Lord. All of them are on contract so I better get something substantial. I definitely want Lumi back together. I'm also open to having EJ back as a recast and on the canvas. We shall see. Ron will probably [!@#$%^&*] it up. THIS. Sigh.

GH April 2021 Discussion
Yeah, Lipton's angry acting is cringe. I'll agree. LOL. I still like him though. And Vee is 100% right they are lucky to have found him and they're lucky he's still showing up. He's perfect as Herbst's on-screen son. Are these kids getting any direction? Eden and Sydney are good but they too sometimes need better direction. So much potential but younger actors get kind of wasted on soaps. I'd rather watch "Mike" than Sonny. But lord it's tedious. Can we move this along? lol. I imagine Phyllis and Lenny and Sonny open "Mike's Place" in Port Charles ... Sonny and Nina have sex and he thinks she's his soulmate ... zzzz. LOL. Meanwhile onto today ... Wow, Kevin and Laura in their very nice home. Finally. And nice to see Nikolas and Ava. Feels like it's been a hot minute.

AMC Alum Joins General Hospital
I loved Ryan and Gillian. I'm still upset over her death 20 years later. LOL. But I agree he was shoved down our throats along with Budig, Minshew and Kaye. It was an endless cycle of swapping partners, babies, explosions, trauma ... it was tiresome. I don't dislike any of them but it wears you out on them and their character. Frons had some hard-on with Ryan and Greenlee being some supercouple in his eyes. I imagine he dictated who was frontburner.

I'd hope. I don't need to get to know a new character, personally. lol. Both are open slates really and could easily fit the current canvas.

AMC Alum Joins General Hospital
Good lord the cast is gigantic and they don't even use some people well. I don't dislike him but is he really needed? Is he for Elizabeth? Now I'm waiting the "Rebecca Budig back to GH", but they for some reason don't seem to want her. Is Frons secretly running things?

News & Gossip from the mid-1980s per The Soaps of Yesterday
Stewart confuses me so much, LOL. Any actor his age would be thrilled to be front burner in a triangle. But I guess if the actors weren't thrilled with each other ... Maybe Don was just getting burned out. I'm glad he appreciated Hollen/Trish. I love her. I kinda feel like Mike/Amanda would have made more sense just to piss Alan off, LOL. But both were a little too young for him. I have to admit a lot of what could have been sounds better than what came. I'm guessing they eventually shifted the War of the Roses-esque story to Alan and Reva. It worked at first with Christopher as Alan but with Pilon it didn't work. It's a shame we lost Stewart (more-so the Mike character) and Roussel. I also think they didn't seem to have any idea what to do with Rebecca Hollen as Trish, who could have easily been a Hope recast too. Amanda Spaulding was a missed opportunity too. I refuse to acknowledge Toby Poser's version. I would have done something different with her. I notice soaps were more ... resistant back then to recasting and instead seemed to try and create new characters to fill that spot on the canvas, often leaving me wondering why they weren't just a recast of a more pivotal role. Several characters never really existed past the 70s/80s, really. LOL. Bert's passing would have been the best time to bring Hope back. I do agree A-M's rapid aging made it difficult to fit Hope in. I still would have done it, but I can see why they hesitated and didn't bother. I don't think there was any excuse in the 90s or 00s though. But I think there was a time where they didn't think audiences cared about "old characters". Sigh. I will never understand getting rid of O'Rourke and Justin. Especially when you have Stewart with one foot out the door. Guess he freed up some money for newbies like Dr. Jim Reardon (likely his younger replacement) I feel like by the time the 90s rolled around Ross became a catchall for Justin/Mike and you didn't really "need" them. I could see that argument being made. "Why bother when we have Ross"? Wheeler was dumb as hell to take him off contract.

GH: Actor returning
Exactly. I'd also argue it's time to bring on BOTH Sarah and Hayden. I mean, Willow and Sasha can be written for. Why not them? lol, that's true. They don't even mention it. I have to admit I didn't even think about them being related. LOL.

Message Regarding The Ratings
Very strange. I've long thought it was time to overhaul the ratings system. But they won't.

This. You summed it up well. I did really enjoy the story as well, what I was able to see of it. Alexandra suffered a bit as you noted. There was a shift happening to her character. Which is such a shame. I mean, by the time Marj Dusay came on and she and Vincent Irizarry took turns screaming Mindy and Melinda constantly I don't blame Mindy for fleeing Springfield

It's supposed to be "bad". LOL. I thought it was great. To each their own. It was better than a lot of actual episodes they shovel out. Ahh, ok.

GH: ABC nixes character return (c/o Daytime Confidential)
This. I don't believe ABC is clinging to Roger Howarth at all. It's Frank. And I appreciate it if they blocked the attempt to bring him back as Todd. That would be stupid. It would bring up all sorts of questions about Llanview. I know Frank loved OLTL but he needs to let go. (And of course Sonny and Nina are in Pennsylvania) I'm still waiting for him to be Drew. But I guess he'll be a new character at this point. Just LET HIM GO Frank. Times have changed, John. I see where you're coming from, but they HAVE to care now. You don't bring back a notorious rapist and have them as a romantic lead in 2021. I can't imagine even Howarth would want that, even if he would want to play Todd. He struggled with it back in 2002/2003, a big reason he left (the Todd doll, remember?). And Geary's aging ass is happy as a clam. Luke will never be a lead again, IMO. He may pop in for a visit but that's it.

GH: Actor returning
I expected a better reaction, but I agree Sean/Shawn was absolutely wasted. And he's found work outside of daytime. He's talented and I'm happy he's back. Now let's see the writing. We have Shawn, Taggert and Curtis. Dayum. I'm happy. Can we get a better Jordan please? All of this. I'm assuming he's getting out. He's on contract. I have my expectations in check. Talk is cheap in terms of diversity. But it's interesting to note how Y&R, DAYS and GH are all adding African American actors and characters. Now WRITE FOR THEM. Right? But we know why. I wonder if they go there again. Can we swap MAGA Jax out for Shawn? I'm good with that. And since we seem to keep adding people, where's Hayden? Now's the perfect time to bring her ass back. And recast Steven Lars. The man's been in jail too for like 8 years right? Or did he skip town? I can't recall.
