GL could absolutely be revived, I've always had a special place for this show. It's too bad how the Peapack years went. Not to mention the questionable casting and lack of any real storylines, IMHO. They had so many vets there near the end who clearly had no issues coming back to the show they loved.

There was so much about Ron's OLTL that really turned me off when I think about it. It's funny because his 2008 got me BACK into OLTL. I think he means well but the man is a hot mess. Anyway ... speaking of hot messes. Wasn't in the mood for my local news this morning so I wound up on OLTL on SoapNet. UGH. Worst time of course. Schuyler is waving a gun around at Gigi. Destiny and Dani are about to go head to head over a role or something. I can't remember. It was nice seeing Barbara Garrick and Ilene Kristen being amazing (Allison was telling Roxy her son, Schuyler, was alive). Oh. Kelly's looking ROUGH at John's, this was her return right? And I think we have Teen Jessica with Cristian and Natalie all up in on it. UGH UGH UGH. That period burned me, not gonna lie.

I forgot how terrible Vasi was. Damn.

First time I've read that interview by Cobb and I loved it. So incredibly spot on for all of Daytime. But wasn't Disney fully all over ABC by that point? You can see their damage on daytime as well as primetime at the time (the sitcoms suffered, too)

Oh good. Jack was so boring. I never minded his interest in Sharon, but man, he pretty much added nothing to the show. Shame. What a waste. Not that I thought he was spectacular but I doubt he was horrible. I just don't think they had any interest in him. He just felt like he was "floundering" the entire time I was watching, up until the Jack/Phil/Sharon ... whatever it is.

Agreed. I was very disappointed seeing how they handled both of them.

I haven't watched recently either. No real reason, just busy with a lot of other things. I'm sorry to see her go too. When I first started watching August of last year, she was very off-putting at first but I quickly started to enjoy her and even miss when she wasn't on. It was the actress too. What a great actress. I can see her doing so many other things. She's fantastic. What a loss for EE.

I've seen clips and bits here and there over time. Such interesting characters. I'm already familiar with most of them through previous cast/character research. Yeah, that's also why I HAVEN'T gotten into it because of hearing how awful it is lol. I was going to give it a try but I'd rather watch something enjoyable. I wanted to start with older material (like I did with EastEnders by watching/still watching 1985 episodes). I'm glad the episodes are out there, anyone have some places off the top of their head where I can watch/stream or download? I know I can torrent but I'm so impatient lol, even with a pretty fast internet connection.

Taylor Anne Mountz was Kay #1, Gina Marie May was tempKay, Deanna Wright was the best Kay and Heidi Mueller was dull as dishwater Kay though not horrible. Just Kay was so blah later on. I dont remember a fourth at all.

I'm thrilled to see the addition of the show. I might have to try and watch it. I've always wanted to get into it. Now might be the time. It's just much easier to access this way instead of hunting down torrents, or youtube or etc. I wish they'd add EastEnders too.

Damn. Season 7 could have been totally revitalized if Syd were brought back then. It's too bad the cast at the time were so snobby about the show after they left. Now I'd bet they'd all come back. I mean half of them appeared in the totally wasted reboot. And could you imagine seeing Kimberly alive at the end? Damn. Would have been amazing.

LOL. "That Kit Fisher Person" Yeah, I wasn't a fan of what little I had seen of her. Edmund's destruction sucked. I really hadn't minded Megan's return up until then and then it really did all go to hell. Such a shame. The show had a lot of things in place at the time and could have really been revitalized.

Exactly. It was a good interview with him. And his comments about handling returning characters was spot on and that is why so many of the returns failed. Ultimately. We may have liked those characters being back but you cant bring someone back after 15 years and just expect instant success. I mean they do initially a good job but its the followup that fails.

LOL. It's just sad how much of it even resembles today considering it was 23 years ago. And I mean sad in that so many things he's saying you shouldn't do are absolutely being done now.

Wow, I've always heard good things about the Douglas storyline but man your summary makes it sound so.damn.good. I'd love to see the whole storyline play out.

Watched November 1st, 1985 on YouTube just recently. All new to me. I do 'know' the history but some questions ... What was up with Marie? What an ... interesting? character? Douglas/Marcia ... what was that about? Craig and Sierra were great. As were Lily (I assume it was Heather Rattray? I liked her a lot) and Dusty. Of course FRANNIE and Steven Weber's Kevin. I also liked Heather a lot in the little bit they used her in the episode. Who was that blonde guy with her? Jay/Jake? I couldn't ever catch the name right and don't recognize his face. JOHN! Great as always. Who was that woman Lila(?) he was with? And Lisa! It's strange to actually see her be written for! LOL. Who was the woman in the black dress and hair at the party? Grace was so annoying. I did feel kind of robbed in the beginning when Faith was killed by Tabitha. I did want them to meet. The anticipation and build-up was great. I miss that Reilly. The painfully slow, methodical storytelling where EVERY detail is exhausted before you get a fantastic payoff. I liked Charity somewhat but I was always Team Kay. I also feel like the constant recasting of core characters with hair models did the show NO favor in the end, poor writing or not. I lost a lot of interest in Ethan, Chad, Miguel with their constant recasts and re-writing. I thought Martsolf was overrated as Ethan. I think he's much better as Brady on DAYS. I feel like the men were almost always an afterthought to Reilly, except for the chosen few (Luis, Julian), which is why we got such shitty recasts.
