  1. Not that they were interested in writing for Gail anyway (I also assume restrictions had been in place) but it was nice seeing her actually smile and be happy as she was leaving. I feel like she's just been so miserable for so long. Isn't it kinda sad I find seeing her smile refreshing? I shouldn't ... lol but the show was doused in misery for so long ...
  2. lol! He's welcome to prove it
  3. I'm over Horton Town Square AND Price Town. I want to go back to Salem Place. LOL I can see why some pearl clutchers were aghast as Tom and Alice's plaque was knocked down. But then of course you have the awful trash humans who have to run their mouths ... I agree, the Horton Center is the Horton 'legacy'. The idea of the Town Square in their honor was a WONDERFUL idea and nice nod to them but the set became small and it almost seems like "what's the point" ... can you believe it's a decade old? They're better off dragging out the bench in the woods and putting the plaque there. I'd rather they do some park, like Chancellor Park on Y&R. Town Square is already a small tiny gathering place ... lol. Though I did like they added an entrance to the hotel there.
  4. Yep. I have to agree. The name was an instant WTF. I'd have to rewatch this story. At the time I feel like I thought it was lip service and they weren't interested in really telling the story, or wouldn't be allowed to. They did have chemistry and Jeffrey Carlson definitely put the work in. I do think we and others can be jaded towards these ideas but it's because we already see the writing on the wall before it begins, sadly. Meanwhile, the UK soaps have numerous and different gay characters (and who aren't all shoved into the same orbit - well, they can be on Hollyoaks ... but I digress). I'd have loved to see our soaps be able to be more progressive. But trust in the writers and producers would be nice. It's been hacks for two decades.
  5. It was cute, at times, but Ron really milked it for all it was worth. I know Frank loved the kid too but it was time to move on. I dreaded his appearances too.
  6. I agree. A little stiff/nervous but it kinda worked for the character lol. I also care more about Spencer and Laura. And honestly, Spencer and Lesley ... and Spencer and Britt ... and Spencer and Hayden ... and Spencer and Cameron (whom he always hated)
  7. Thank you for the counts! Yikes at #1 being Tara.
  8. Will's death felt premature for sure and for shock value. I also figured it was to make room for the next baddie, Alec.
  9. Bobbie's "Jason who" is everything. Right? My head automatically goes right to someone getting knocked up. I'm SO TIRED OF BABIES. Especially on GH. You just had Maxie's 1 year pregnancy and Brook Lynn's fake pregnancy, followed by Sasha's real pregnancy ... enough. LOL.
  10. Nailed it. It's so incredibly hard to ever be invested in what happens. I long ago gave up.
  11. Absolutely agreed. Classic Corrie is so much better. It has such an 'everyday' feel to it yet there's drama, comedy, etc. It's wonderful. Hell, even the 1998 reruns right now feel light years better although you can see the tone shifting. I'm watching regularly and the current show is watchable to me. It's like the US soaps for me at this point, I find little things that I like and chug through the rest. It helps that the Geoff and Ray stuff ended. I'm really tired of having a bad guy and an abuser (sometimes they're the same) running around for years. I get their insistence that it's "real" and they see it as a service to get the message across, but they soap it up and sensationalize it. They also drag it out. (Kinda like how they use depression after having a baby to make the girl they're less interested in writing for 'crazy', like Zoe hitting Emily) I'd say the pandemic forced them to sort of go back to the basics. This would be a very easy time for folks to jump in but it's not exactly gripping, either. Hard to explain. I'd love @DRW50's take. I wouldn't call it 'lethargic' but it's close. I guess I take less offensive, toxic and 'shocking' as a win LOL. I really don't even recognize the show from like 2010-2015 (and the darkening of the show started around 2001)
  12. God I hope we see the Quartermaine in Michael come out again. Duell was never the most amazing but he definitely came alive when he was taking Avery from Sonny, etc. Of course Mo hated it. I'm probably exaggerating on the Joss/Michael scenes LOL but I feel like we used to at least get them once in a while. I mean, you could almost forget they're related lol which is sad
  13. I know lol he just can't let go. He really really should.
  14. Awwwwww, cutie Spencer "checking on" Trina. I think he'll work. And lol at how awful they're making Judge CARSON. (Carly/Sonny's ship name is Carson). But I appreciate the idea behind it, and trying to tell a story about Shawn being wrongfully stuck in jail. I miss real cast portraits. In the 2000s it seemed all the soaps were constantly putting them out. Group photos, individuals ... Cam and Joss are such missed potential it's pathetic really I can understand Joss being blind to Jason because she's Carly's spawn and Carly worships the ground Jason walks on, but like ... we've never really see Jason and Josslyn have any sort of family relationship. That would go a long way. Yet we HAVE seen her with Cam. Nina is a mess. LOL. I love it. She's just casually hanging out with her friends while never saying a word. I love it. And amazing how the show can exist and actually be more interesting when Sonny isn't on or dominating. I'm really over the mob TBH. It's just ridiculous at this point. 50 year old Jason just giving up his life constantly for this mob life is stupid. I feel like something's gotta give here. I can imagine a point where neither Jason or Sonny want to be in the business anymore, but really, no one believable is left to take it over. Carly needs to be played by Sarah Joy Brown for me to take her as a mob leader seriously, and Michael and Kristina are pathetic as characters, which neither should be.
  15. I know we're in July but I've enjoyed reading your takes @Taoboi! And lol at the lack of Josslyn/Michael scenes. I feel like we had them constantly when Nelle was around. It was painful to sit through, I can see why there's a lack of them. I miss Michael QUARTERMAINE. Seriously. The spawn of Carly and AJ and the spawn of Carly and Jax and we get boring and bland? Even Jax has more grey.
  16. Brad Bell is so bad. He really needs to step back and just be EP. He has some good writers under him which makes it all the more a shame.
  17. I like they had Brooke interrupt them. It was a very Stephanie thing to do.
  18. Absolutely agreed. I noticed they weren't on at all until the storyline aired. I like all of them and need more. But the cast usage has been strange overall to me. Everyone has felt a bit islanded which I guess makes sense because of their covid protocols/bubbles. I do think the protocols are dampening the feel of the show but I appreciate their safety.
  19. Bingo. The optics surrounding introducing them were horrible and distasteful. It rubbed all of us the wrong way. It was a slap in the face to basically say "we can replace one token family with another". GTF out of here with that. I like Mealor, he's cute of course, but I do think he's capable. I think he probably overestimated his worth LOL. Kyle was better before Griffith declawed him. Griffith SUCKS.
  20. I feel like this project would be treated differently than a normal pilot development, so I'm glad to hear it's still in the works, if you will. They're not in a huge rush though, are they? lol.
  21. Makes sense I guess to have it strictly be on Peacock.
  22. Oh man. What a tragic year for soap stars. [!@#$%^&*]. Loved her. She was miscast as Donna but damn did she own Renee DiMera. What a mistake to kill her. A part of me appreciates she was never resurrected but damn would have been great to have her back. RIP Philece Sampler. Sigh. My heart goes out to her family.
