^ Good lord. It's not all about you *****! (referring to Melissa) I want to believe that we will find ourselves in a better place after the smoke clears, but I don't. One look at recent world history tells me that people are probably not going to become more tolerant any time soon. One thing that really hamstrings our country in the regard is not having a national educational system. If you could start socializing people to be tolerant as children you might be able to counter some of the other more negative messages they receive elsewhere.

Yeah me too, but it's probably here to stay. I'm hopeful the Republicans will pressure him to resign because he's humiliating them. Maybe this is finally the straw that breaks the camel's back, but Trump is crazy good at manipulating the news cycle. That's his one undeniable talent.

Except for that part where you thought he could never win in the first place. Of course, I was right there with you but, just sayin'.

^ I hope so. I guess it will be true if the GOP thinks this is the point where they are stronger without him. I'm not giving them any points for breaking with him though. After everything that happened in the primary they never should have stood by him in the first place.

Yeah, I tend to fit that category. Or I look for reasons why people are the way they are, so that I can understand and maybe not hate them. I'm working hard to get over all that.

Don Lemon was doing well today.

It's so odd to me seeing some of the reporters on CNN say things like the president "missed an opportunity" or he missed his moment. What does he have to do before these people admit he is a white supremacist? Does he have to raise the Confederate flag over the white house? I hadn't actually seen the Nazis march before today, but CNN was practically playing it on a loop. I have to wonder if all of this coverage won't embolden them further.

Yeah. His Dad was arrested at a Klan meeting right? I don't agree with guilt by association. However, I think Trump is showing us that his father was a great influence on him.

This press conference. Good lord.

You got me. When the political knife is at their throats they'll give half hearted condemnations (three days after the fact) that no one with a brain cell believes they mean. Edited to say: I wasn't insulting your intelligence Vee. I know you don't believe 45 means it.

Why? What would they do? Why would they do it? No need to be dubious. No need to give these people the benefit of the doubt any longer. They haven't earned it and they are not going to do one damn thing to stop the Nazis. They are the Nazis. They would admit it if they could and still keep power.

I don't think it's childish. Didn't many Americans cheer when the statue of Saddam was knocked down by his people? This is the same thing. The people have spoken, it's past time we get rid of these "monuments".

Can't say he didn't earn every bit of it though. I don't know enough about history to say that he is the most hated president of all, but he almost has to be doesn't he? I thought I would always have a basic respect for the office, but 45 has proved me wrong.

I guess even he isn't that stupid. Right now he can give the fringe winks and nods, but other Republicans can still support him by pretending they don't think he's really a racist. There are also a few groups who have supported him to further own limited interests, while not worrying much about everyone else. It would be harder for them to so that if he outright admits to being a white supremacist/ Nazi.

That same poll has 24% of Latinos approving of him. Not sure what to make of that.

I understand. Everyone copes differently too. I came off as more judgemental then I meant to. It's not that I think it wrong for people to post about other things, it's just strange when I read the feed. This is more true on twitter where I'm a passive observer. Half my feed is these serious articles about all kinds of tragedy and the other half is Y&R. Couldn't agree more about Trump denouncing white supremacy. Like I said earlier in the thread, these are his people, why would he condemn them, he obviously agrees with them. He is them. I understand Carl. My Facebook feed is very small and consists of people I either know in real life or people I trust. It's private because I post pictures. The irony is that in real life I don't put out political signs and such. I probably would, but my husband feels it's too dangerous, so I get where you are coming from.

It's times like these that social media is incredibly bizarre. I'm getting serious tweets about the Nazi Rally from half my feed, while every one else is going on with their lives as if nothings happened. Maybe ever stranger is people who will make serious comments condemning the Nazi's and next post a GoT Meme or talk about their visit to the feed store or post a pic of their baby in designer threads. I don't know how people are just going around like it's business as usual so soon after, although I suppose I'll have to do the same come tomorrow. None of this is normal.

He's got his hair styled like Hitler's. If you emulate one of the worst mass murderers in history people will think you are a racist because that's what you are. So cowardly and stupid.

I wish they could all be removed on the same day so the Nazis can't go from site to site protesting.

This thread is on point, I think. I'm not calling them alt-right, white supremacist or even neonazis. I'm just going to call them Nazis because that's what this is coming down to. It took me too long to really see it for what it is. https://twitter.com/yonatanzunger http s://twitter.com/yonatanzunger/status/896572585407782914

I don't agree with people who are saying 45 is too weak to criticize Nazis. Why would he do that. They are his people. He's been agreeing with them tacitly since this whole thing started. He has several of them in his administration ffs. I wish the media would stop pretending otherwise.

I just saw a black man on CNN say we have to investigate and be fair to both sides. What!? No we don't. Let's stop bending over backwards to accommodate these violent racists. I wish I could have caught the guys name, but I can't watch the live coverage. Too much violence for little eyes.

^ Absolutely. Economic struggles are no excuse for allowing this hate to take hold. People knew what they were voting for with 45. He didn't even try to hide it.

^ I'm not even a little surprised by that sad to say.
