Isn't it possible there isn't a good solution? Sanctions haven't worked. I've seen experts say military intervention would be a disaster, although I certainly don't have the knowledge to say if that's true. Maybe China is the only one who can bring them to heel? I'm not looking forward to finding out.

I feel bad for her too. It has to be so hard knowing that you caused an accident that killed or even hurt someone else. It could happen to anyone, which is why I hate driving. I hope she finds peace down the road.

I doubt it. Plus it's not that easy to undo all the horrible things they are trying to do. Some of the damage to individuals and the environment can't be undone. For all we know we're at the global warming tipping point. I don't see it's worth sitting back and letting it happen without a fight just to get Pence in office.

The point isn't that attacking her looks is the greater insult, it's that misogynists always reduce women to their looks. I wish we could expect more from the person leading us. I read a profile of him awhile back and it left me hopeful. He sounds like someone who digs in and doesn't quit.

I agree with you, but I'm also torn. I'm glad to see the media hit him on the fact that he always uses looks to attack women. It's so clear he only values women by their looks, which is why he always uses it to denigrate us. At the same time it changes nothing. We all knew this. It's way more important to keep the heat up on Russia.

At least the Republicans won't be able to push this through fast while no one is looking.

Dear God, me too. There are not many billionaires who know what the average person's life is like. You see every day how so many celebrities lose touch. Having more money then a person can truly conceive of has the same effect, if not worse, imo. The billionaire I have the most respect for is Warren Buffet (yes, partly because of AMC), but also because I've seen some of how he lives, how much he gives and how he treats people around town. Even he has made money off the backs of the truly poor recently (modular homes with insane interest rates). Add to that his daughter said he didn't start giving more money away sooner because accumulating it was a game to him. It's life and death to hundreds of millions of people in this world, but even the best billionaires are so far removed it's all just a game. At least he's pledged to give it all away when he passes. Just my opinion obviously, but I hate seeing them have such a huge role in government.

And that's a fact. Then there are the lives that till be lost or damaged forever. It's just so sad and infuriating.

Me too, which is my point. It was never about the baby to me, but the fact that she was conceived while his wife battled cancer and he denied her. He denied his baby daughter and she will know that. It's despicable. I feel character should matter, but all I care about are results right now. Well, not all. I do have limits, but they aren't what they used to be.

I guess nothing that comes out about any politician will truly shock me at this point. So many of them have been shown to have major skeletons in the closet. I've reached the cynical place of not caring that much. A democrat would have to be unbelievably awful for me to vote against him or her in the political climate we are now in. John Edwards is the perfect example. He ended up being a horrible person (imo), but I could never vote for someone who wants to take healthcare from our must vulnerable citizens instead.

I do. I even see it in this healthcare bill. Sure, he isn't murdering the disabled, but he's making it a lot more likely that they'll die. I can't get over how despicable it is, although I think Paul Ryan is even more responsible in this case. We all know he's just been waiting for his chance to bleed the poor, old and disabled.

Maybe Hillary should have lied more about jobs, but I do think she touted issues like inclusiveness, immigration and the right to choose. I don't think she had it in her to just tell people what the want to hear when it comes to the economy. In other news, Iowa seems to be going the way of Kansas and Illinois. Severe budget problems with a governor who thinks the answer is tax cuts. How many times does this strategy have to fail before common sense prevails? http://www.stormlake.com/articles/2017/06/21/iowa’s-budget-mess

Haven't they done that? I feel like what the party stands for overall is pretty clear. IDK, maybe they do need to break it down into catchy phrases. One of the things I took from the 2016 election is that people want to be lied to. That seems really clear on the job front. Jobs for everyone would probably be a great slogan even though I don't think anyone believes that's possible.

So you agree with someone using the word c*nt and then talk about sexism? Not sure how that works. Reducing a woman to her vag because you don't like her political stance is classic sexism.

15 years is a long time. Not just old white people are going to die unnecessarily in that time and by then climate change may be so far gone that the world as we know it is gone forever. The democrats need to find the right message in 2020 or one hell of a lot of unnecessary suffering is going to occur. Well, even more than is already coming from four years of 45. Let's not make it eight.

Bill Cosby
It's looking like he's going to get away with it. If so, I hope his victims can look at the fact that he stood trial as some kind of victory. He almost got away with raping all of these women with his reputation in tact, so at least that didn't happen.
