  1. LOL.....I know. Dynasty just screams 80's camp. Boy do I miss those days. I don't think we will see a return to that glamour, preppy style. People have devolved and aspire to look like Duck Dynasty, than Dynasty.
  2. I would like to see Rod and Eileen together again. They could pull out the old soap ploy and say Steven Lassiter had a twin or bring him back as a new character like they did Grant Cramer and Quinn Redeker. Which reminds me, Rod was on Y&R in the early 70's as Jeff the stable boy that Katherine was screwing. So if he came back, that would make 3 times he has been on Y&R.
  3. It makes me sick to think of the tons of lost film and TV. Nearly all of the programming from the now defunct Dumont network was dumped in the east river in the 70's. Daytime TV has suffered the most when it comes to destroyed, wiped or lost footage. I read NBC kept wiping programming till the early 80's. A lot of people have speculated that most of Sale Of The Century's run has been lost except what episodes are airing on GSN. These same episodes are the ones USA reran in the 90's. I don't even have to mention all the lost soap footage. Another World is a prime example of tape wiping.
  4. I remember when Rod was on Y&R in the late 80's as Ashley's first husband Dr. Steven Lassiter. I was shocked when they killed him off. A few years ago I read an interview with Eileen Davidson and she was asked who in the past had she worked with that she missed and would like to work with again and she said "Rod Arrants". She and Rod stay in touch.
  5. Here are some 1983 pics of Eileen Davidson & Jay Kerr who soon fizzled when Jay's character Brian Forbes vanished onscreen.
  6. I wonder if Nikki interacted much if at all with Howard McGillin's Greg onscreen. I have an old 1982 Soap Digest that has a pic of Howard & Melody posing together at a cast party. It appears that HG was a throwback to resemble James Houghton. I seem to remember (as a 4/5 year old) by the time Nikki hooked up with Victor, they didn't talk about Nikki's first marriage to Greg.
  7. LOL......Yes. He was pissed because the audience might think he was exactly like Steven in real life.
  8. Colleen Zenk commercial circa 1982. I remember seeing this ad many times as a kid.
  9. He didn't see his 27th birthday. How sad.
  10. I agree. An awesome scene. I also agree about Steve being able to afford nicer furniture......LOL That colonial house set would looked more nicer with wingback chairs, mahogany tables etc......That sofa and chairs look like it came out of the Jeffersons apartment.
  11. It appears to be the same house. If this was 79, I wonder if they kept that set into the 80's ?
  12. I don't understand why they didn't keep Tom Ligon on the show. He could have been a rival for Victor. When did Peggy Brooks get written out ? I don't think she lasted into 1982. Bill Bell seemed to be at a loss as what to do with her or Greg Foster. That Brian Forbes/Ashley pairing was an odd short lived storyline. They brought him on, then he was gone within a year. He went to make a phone call and never came back. Jay Kerr who played the role did an interview for a website for another series he was on and he said he hated doing Y&R and that he stank at soap opera. He said surprisingly people still recognize him from Y&R and that's what they ask about most. He even made the crack about disappearing never to be seen again.
  13. I wonder how long they kept Alice's house too. Did they show it again when Jackie Courtney returned to the show in 1984 ? It appears to be a Colonial Style house with an early american flavor with the diamond grid windows etc....The furniture though looks like modern ugly 70's crap to give it a contemporary twist. It would have looked better with more traditional furniture.
  14. Such a tragedy. He had his whole life ahead of him and it was cut short by a mistake. I thought Aaron would have snapped him up after the Male Model film.
  15. The majority of the media has always had a disdain for soaps and soap fans and slams them every chance they get. I miss Bill Bell. Y&R died when he did. Kay Alden could have carried on the legacy, but Sony threw her under the bus by sticking her with that albatross Lynn Marie Latham.
  16. Yes, he would have been great as Miles too. I can't believe Jon Erik was not snapped up for a regular role on a primetime soap.
  17. I know. It's too bad when you can't take a your own home video recording and use it the way you see fit. It's not like anyone is making money off it.
  18. Yes, John Erik was doing the Voyagers series during Jack's first season of Dynasty. They could have dumped Jack since he stank in the role anyway. It may have been weird though after he did that Male Model film with Joan where they were sleeping together and then see them as mother and son on Dynasty. I can't belive it has been 30 years since his death. Yes, Dynasty may have kept him away from a prop gun. Here is what he may looked like as a Carrington playing Polo.
  19. I agree. I kind of wonder what John Erik Hexum would have been like as a recast for Steven ?
  20. Probably some cornhole has tattled and spoiled it for the rest of us.
  21. I wonder why Jack Coleman even took the role if he was just going to be uncomfortable playing it ? $$$ was probably the major factor, but why didn't he just try to get another part on some other show. ? He had to know what the character was all about when he signed on the dotted line. It's funny seeing how bleached blonde he and Ted McGinley were in the 80's and how today they have dark mousey brown hair.
  22. I hope we get to see some more classics soon. Like Lorie being tried for killing Vanessa.
  23. Terry Kiser who is playing Dr. Rice is still with us and active in the business. He hit pay dirt in those Weekend At Bernie's films. He was also in that hilarious Golden Girls episode where he playes a fake Beatle and sleeps with Dorothy.
  24. I can't help but notice those bright red blinds behind the curtains in scenes. Probably some current hack designer who is obsessed with midcentury will see those while channel surfing then bring them back with a line claiming it was their creation/idea.
  25. I remember that Afterschool special.....LOL It would have been funny if you did yell that out.
