  1. How long does Jami Fields play the role of Penny Davis ? I know Julia Duffy of Newhart fame played Penny for about 5 years in the 70's ? Christopher Norris I think was the first actress to play the part.
  2. Wow Mr. Anderson is off the chain fruit loop.
  3. So sad that Mrs. Anderson died. I figured that they would save her, but they took the realistic approach and had it be too late to do anything.
  4. Joan looks like Janis Joplin in that pic.......LOL
  5. Here is a 60's episode of Peyton Place with Joan Van Ark as the nurse. Her nose is clearly different.
  6. I agree. His interviews are hilarious to watch. When he tells dirt, it's like he doesn't do it intentionally, it just casually comes out of his mouth. I noticed Brock Broughton the set designer on Dynasty also designed the sets on Y&R in the 70's. His name is in the credits on the old episodes on posted in the Y&R thread.
  7. I remember reading that Tom wanted to sign a contract with Y&R, but Bill Bell wasn't sure he was leading man material because of his high voice. He wrote the character out in 1975. Years later when he found success as Magnum PI and as a 80's heartthrob, Bell said he kicked himself for not signing him.
  8. I feel sorry for Mrs. Anderson. I bet the confrontation with Mr. Anderson & Althea/ Nick is going to be must see TV. I wonder if they will mention what religion they are it being 1968 ?
  9. I can't believe Dorothy Green who played Jennifer didn't get nominated for the mastectomy story. Her performance blew me away from the episodes I saw above. The scenes where she learns she has cancer and asks the girls to leave her alone for a while and then breaks down and when she wakes up and tells Snapper she doesn't want to live like this is heart wrenching.
  10. Some great person has uploaded several clear copies 1970's episodes of Y&R on youtube. Here is an example:
  11. This may have been posted here before, but I will post it anyway.
  12. On the Another World board there was discussion about the 1978 Emmy Awards. It got me to thinking, why was Y&R and it's performers never nominated or considered for emmys till the mid 1980's ? The 70's and early 80's had fantastic actors on the show that was deserving of a nomination. Jeanne Cooper and Brenda Dickson had the major storyline of Jill/Phillip/Katherine. I have heard that Janice Lynde's performance during Leslie's mental breakdown was worthy of an award. Jamie Lyn Bauer had lots of meaty material during her entire time on the show. Y&R it seems was never on the ballot.
  13. This may sound tacky, but I kept waiting for Lila Anderson to collapse in the elevator and for some staff or Althea find her as the closing credits rolled.
  14. That was my next guess too.
  15. I wonder what the deal is with Lila Anderson that she can't let a doctor help her ? Did one kill her child ?
  16. I thought they quit making Tame and then I saw it at Dollar Tree. DT seems to buy old defunct brands, like Breck Shampoo.
  17. Yes he was. I wonder why they never brought him back when they aged Chloe. If they couldn't get the original actor or wanted to recast. They could have gotten someone zany like Matthew Cowles.
  18. Vicki Wyndham adopted that fake british accent when she paired up with Charles Keating. I saw that VW 25th special and to see her old way of acting in the flashbacks and the way she was acting/speaking in the current storyline was jarring.
  19. The Lila Anderson story has me interested for some reason. I want to see how they handle this on 1968 daytime. The husband Ralph seems like the sterotypical 60's husband that screams at his wife, thinks she's a ninny, knows whats best for her, tells her how to think and feel etc.....
  20. This has probably been posted before. Here is a Y&R episode from May 26, 1985. There are several flashbacks by Kay & Jill to the 1970's.
  21. Matt's Big Ole Chrysler looked a little out of date for a Chief Of Staff. Most people of his social stature would have a new 1968 or least a 1967 model at this point. Is it just me, but doesn't it look like there is a little too much furniture in the Powers livingroom ? If they uncluttered it a bit it would be more spacious
  22. LOL...I know. Everyone was dueling big hair to see who could get the ultimate height. Women looked like Texas Beauty Queen Contestants. As a boy I had the Ricky Shroeder and Adam Rich bowl cut.
