  1. I read that JC quit because she didn't want Alice to get involved with Willis Frame. She felt that would be out of character. I recently downloaded Harding Lemay's book " Eight Years In Another World" and he really trashes her and George Reinholt in the book. If I remember correctly, he talks about the Alice/Rachel scene and says that he hated the way JC played it and called and complained to Paul Rauch when he saw it on TV. He wanted her to have a quiet breakdown and referred to her playing it as histrionic. I think HL was full of crap. The above scene is awesome and JC was excellent as a mentally disturbed Alice. He also trashed her for sloppy bad acting in other chapters. He claimed she wrote her lines on her cuffs, sobbed through scenes of dialogue because she didn't learn her lines etc.....He went on about George Reinholts uneven acting and bad behavior behind the scenes. He claims other actors were put out with George and the final straw was when he threw a chair at a director.
  2. I have some questions about vintage AW footage. I saw some scenes in Victoria Wyndhams 25th anniversary where they show Rachel and Steve arguing about their marriage and him still being in love with Alice. The footage would have been from around 1973. Has anyone come across that footage in their vintage collection or was that found in the NBC vault ? It's not on the download I got and Eddie at the AW Homepage said what was in the collection he has was all there is available. I viewing the Rachel/Alice confrontation years ago at WoSt, but I seem to remember a scene where Rachel arrives at the house and Alice is on the stairs when Rachel starts in on her before the scene in the bedroom. Am I right about that ? It's been years and my memory is a bit fuzzy. I have the bedroom argument scene downloaded. Is the majority of the early AW footage gone now or is there some at UCLA etc.....waiting to be archived ?
  3. I got a copy of the Another World material 1964-1978 from a download. Some of the footage has a weird angled cam corder filmed technique. I don't know why. The Walter & Lenore wedding from 1968 is a b&w kinescope, but great fun to watch. The Alice/Steve/Rachel material is edits, but awesome. Jackie Courtney and George Reinholt were really good, which I don't understand why Paul Rauch and Harding Lemay complained. The scene everybody has talked about from the WoSt days with hateful Rachel is included. Rachel is in Alice's bedroom and Liz is there. Alice is in the middle of a mental breakdown. Rachel starts screeching she wants the house and Alice tells her she will never let her have it and whispers to Liz "Please don't let her take it" and Liz say's "I promise I won't" Rachel keeps on and on about how Steve wants her and Jamie to have it and doesn't want Alice there anymore. She then tells Alice that she was able to give Steve what he wanted, a son to carry on his name. And then screeches where is the son that you ever gave him. Liz makes the most painful expression after she says it. Alice looks at Rachel with hatred, hollers out and lunges off the bed while Liz tries to restrain her and Alice picks up something and throws it at Rachel and screams "Get Out Of My House". Alice runs after Rachel throwing things and Liz follows then the camera cuts to Rachel running down the stairs and Alice picks something off a shelf and throws it after Rachel is able to make it out the front door. There are several fantastic scenes where Alice has mentally lost it. One scene is where Russ and Lenore have to break one of the side light windows out to unlock the door after Alice won't answer. They go in and then Lenore turns around and Alice comes out of the closet from hiding in her night clothes. She then starts teling them that she will never leave the house because Steve built it for her.
  4. Thanks for the info. I thought maybe Nikki would be included since Melody Thomas Scott came on in 1979 and married Greg within months. The Leslie/Laurie/Lance/Lucas thing was getting big at the same time.
  5. I was the one who posted that link. Thanks for the reply. I tried talking to the guy who runs that site about getting the Y&R stuff, but never heard back. I didn't have anything to trade that he didn't already have. Does the Foster/Brooks material have any of Nikki and Greg's marriage ?
  6. I think it's crazy how many times they have had Christine/Cricket raped, stalked, sexually harassed.
  7. I ran across this web page of a DVD/Tape trader that has a ton of vintage Y&R episodes and edits. I wish someone would trade some stuff and get their hands on the 70's and early 80's material listed and post it on youtube. http://soapoperadvdlist.webs.com/the-young-and-the-restless
  8. I don't know if this has been posted, but here some audio clips from 1969. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_ecW_-20jA
  9. I hated when they grew up Nick. Joshua Morrow is one of the most lousy, grating, annoying soap actors .
  10. I forgot to ask when I posted the Tom Selleck clip, I keep seeing on web sites that he reprised his role of Jed Andrews in 2005. I don't recall that at all. Then again, I stopped being a loyal Y&R viewer in 2000 after Bill Bell was no longer calling shots.
  11. Here is a short clip of Tom Selleck on The Talk discussing his days on Y&R. They show a clip of his first episode from 1974 with Jamie Lynn Bauer (Lorie Brooks). http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x18ca7w_the-talk-tom-selleck-remembers-y-r-days_tv
  12. That was so cool of Jeanne. Bill Bell always catered to Braeden to keep him happy and on the show.
  13. I was 14 at the time of the Y&R brawl and remember reading that Bill Bell was going to fire them both if they didn't cool it. In truth, I say that Bell would of gotten rid of Bergmen before he would " HIS PET" Braeden. Braeden was a big fan of Terry Lester.
  14. I thought Terry Lester was the BEST Jack. I wish he hadn't left the show. Peter Bergman said in an interview that Eric Braeden was a big fan of Terry's when he took over the role and let him know it. I guess that explains that backstage brawl and their current working relationship......LOL Peter always say's his favorite scene is when Victor collapsed and he leaves him to die and as he walks out of the scene he kicks his hand.
  15. Actress/Model Lou Mulford played a character named Nikki on the show. Lou was a regular model on the 80's game show Sale Of The Century. She has a web page and a youtube channel. Her 80's demo reel has a clip of her on Capitol.
  16. I remember a recent interview with Beth Maitland and she said people were always asking why she wasn't on Y&R on a regular basis and she said it was not of her own doing, but they ran out of material for the character. She said she is thrilled when she gets to work on the show.
  17. I think the show missed the boat when they killed of Colleen. They should have paired her with Lauren's son Scottie and the Lauren/Tracy feud could live on. So many missed opportunities this show flushed down the toilet by hack writers and EP.
  18. He has a great voice and I liked the songs. According to his filmography he was on Search 1980-81 as Zach then moved to Days 1981-1983 as Oliver. Shawn must be wanting to work again because he is uploading his early work and his imdb page has been updated with new current photos of him.
  19. I ran across this christian soap on youtube and it's really good. It looks like it could have been an ABC or NBC produced soap. When it first aired (1981-84) I missed it since I was without cable till 1985. Phanta773 looks like they have uploaded the entire or almost entire series in excellent quality.
  20. Thanks for the info. I was probably in school and missed her stepping in. I remember being shocked when I saw Jess as the new Jill. I wonder if Deborah Adair will ever return to soaps. I know she retired in the mid 90's to raise her kids, but they are probably now grown.
  21. One thing that I read that surprised me was Deborah Adair stepped back into the role of Jill in 1987 prior to Jess taking over the role. I must have missed those episodes since I remember when Jess first appeared. Deborah said in an interview she did it as a favor to Bill Bell and at that point didn't want to come back to daytime. She said she had fun and made some new friends. Does anyone remember this ?
  22. When Casey came back to town for Nikki's wedding to Victor, Nikki goes introduce to them. Victor say's Dr. Casey Reed and she says Victor Newman so this is your fiance, and Nikki says you two know each other and they laugh and Victor say's that he and Casey met when Julia had to be in the hospital a few years ago. I seem to recall that Casey and Brock got Julia a job in the hospital gift shop to get her away from the ranch and Victor put the kabosh on it. Victor hated Brock. There was also some stuff about Victor teaching Julia how to use a gun after a break in. I think they were going to have Victor set Brock up to go to the ranch and Julia thinking it was a prowler to shoot him by accident. I wonder if Brock would have been the one in the basement at some point if he hadn't left the show around that time ? They brought the Michael Scott character in pretty quickly.
  23. That sounds interesting. I wonder what they had in mind with bringing back that character ? I know Laurie returned briefly around that time for that sucky storyline that pretty much threw her under the bus and had her groveling at Victor's feet. If the writers had any freaking sense they should introduce the adult Brooks Prentiss or Jennifer Foster.
  24. DRW50......didn't you post at one time that you read an article in SOD a few years back that Janice Lynde was approached to return to Y&R as Leslie ? If so, wonder why that never panned out ?
  25. She has gotten older of course, but still looks recognizable. A lot of people never warmed up to her as Leslie and preferred Janice Lynde in the role. Here is Janice Lynde Today
