  1. I have been going back and revisiting ATWT 1979 & 1980. Does anyone know why Tom Tammi was let go ? I mentioned him in the Classic Y&R thread as someone who could been a recast Greg Foster. I like his version of Tom paired with Barbara. One thing I thought was odd.....I remember back in the 90's reading a SOD interview with Zenk and Margaret Colin happened to stop by the table as she was interviewed. She told the reporter " She was my Margo and Deas was my Tom".....Hello ? What about Tammi ? I wonder if he and Zenk got along ?
  2. You are right. I think Peggy disappeared from the show without explanation by late 1981. Wings Hauser left and was replaced by Howard McGillin. I still can't believe Hauser was ever hired as Greg. He was blech !!! I could picture someone like Tom Tammi in the role of Greg. I always wondered why he was canned from ATWT. I guess they wanted to take Tom in a different direction with the casting of Justin Deas.
  3. I remember in one synopsis around 1981 stating Victor gave Peggy the bedroom eye. That sounded interesting. I wish Bell had explored that angle. I assume if Brock had stuck around he would have been the one Victor locked in the dungeon instead of Michael Scott.
  4. I know Casey (and Nikki) were close friends to Brock. Did he and Casey ever have a romantic relationship ? Brock was another character that Bell chem-tested with several women, but nothing ever clicked. I think Peggy Brooks never really had a lasting relationship as well.
  5. If they insisted writing Nikki having another child, they could have had her be pregnant by Greg Foster who she was married to at the time she joined the cult. Nick Reed was a sleaze bag, so he probably fathered some stray kids here and there. That would open up another sibling for Casey & Nikki. Genie Francis should have played the half Reed sister instead of the part she got stuck with. Genie & Melody both started on soaps in the late 70's. Heck, Kin Shriner could have been a long lost brother if they wanted Nikki to have a brother instead of a sister. I always wondered how Roberta Leighton felt about her storylines. Bill Bell clearly thought Nikki was more fun to write for than Casey. She never really had a long term romantic interest. She never married or had children as far as we know. If she had, there could have been a niece or nephew for Nikki to deal with.
  6. A scene from "Cage Without A Key" (1975) with Susan Dey and Lani O'Grady.
  7. Name That Tune 1977. Kathie Lee Johnson (Gifford) as the La La singer.
  8. Yeah...kind of forgot about that. I would have brought Mom Reed on the show circa 1984. They had Dorothy McGuire as Cora, maybe get another old school film star as Ma Reed. If they went trashy they could have cast Shelley Winters....if they went classy maybe Julie London. She had that smoky cigarette voice similar to Roberta Leighton's Casey.
  9. 🤣 Was Nikki & Casey's Mom ever referred to on the show ? They should have had her show up....they could just say they considered her dead and told people that story because she had abandoned them as kids. She would have appeared around the time Nikki & Victor married. I picture an actress similar to a chain smoking Ellen Barkin type.
  10. The time lines have all been altered and screwed with so much, it can be played with anytime a storyline dictates. Nikki & Paul supposedly had old Steve Burton (born 1970) as a son....are we supposed to believe he was born 1979-1980 ? Amelia Heinle was born in 1973 and Joshua Morrow 1974. Victoria was born 1982 and Nick 1988. You would have alter dates backwards to make story work to write these characters in a Y&R prequal during the 60's and early 70's time period (pre 1973). In my 1969 storyline with Nikki I made her 13 based on MTS birth year of 1956 even thought Nikki is supposed to be younger. It would make the character be more interesting as a teen than a tween during the late 60's. Around 1972 you could have a young Traci Abbott watching a local music show and seeing a 10 or 12 year old Danny Romalotti singing a cover of David Cassidy's Echo Valley 2-6809.....LOL
  11. 1969: 16 year old Julia marries 29 year old Victor. Casey Reed scolds her 13 year old sister Nikki for acting out a strip tease in front of the mirror.
  12. In Sept 75 Liz tells Kay that Jennifer has breast cancer. Kay knew Jennifer’s daughter Lorie. I think that’s the only connections, at least through ‘75. Thanks for the info. It would be nice if there were scenes of them together. Maybe Kay visiting Jennifer after her mastectomy bringing her flowers or inviting her to lunch etc...
  13. Did Katherine ever have scenes with Jennifer Brooks or acknowledge she knew her ?
  14. I noticed that the oval window from the Brooks home wound up at the Newman ranch as well. Bruce is kind of creepy. Wasn't he the brother to Elizabeth Foster ? His son Mark became engaged to Lorie, but they had to break up when they found out they were half siblings due to Jen's affair with Bruce years earlier. Bill Bell kind of repeated this same paternity reveal in the 80's with Dina, Ashley and Brent Davis. He also repeated Leslie's mental breakdown storyline with Ashley right down to the same 3 women in the asylum tormenting her, although different actresses portrayed them in the 80's.
  15. I agree. It does come across as a parody and trying too hard to seem edgy. I also think maybe the time period was also the problem. The 70's were the height of the sexual revolution and a show like this would probably have fit in with that era, but by the early 80's there was a backlash with the rise of AIDS and a return to a more conservative mindset by the general public.
  16. I know that promo is a bit blurry due to age, but I always wonder if GL, ATWT, AW etc...had a blurry muddy look during that era (late 60's to mid 70's) since they kept wiping and reusing video tape repeatedly ? Johnny Carson fans said they noticed that muddy look even back in the late 60's and 1970's when watching his show due to the videotape reuse.
  17. ROTFL !!! at that cheesy scene. I guess people who only had access to scrambled porn had to rely on this for their erotic needs.
  18. Thank You for finding that 1975 episode. I enjoyed every minute of it including the commercials. Meg Bennet was such a beautiful woman. When I was a kid I remember her on Y&R as Julia Newman. This is how she looked with the long Cher hair when she and Victor first appeared on the show. She would kind of hide behind it when Victor was being verbally abusive. I spotted Renee Jarrett in the Soft & Dri ad and Sheila Larken in the Crisco ad. I hope more SFT from this era surfaces.
  19. Eight Is Enough: A Family Reunion (1987). An Eight Is Enough Wedding (1989)
  20. Your welcome. Yes, she was a special lady. I grew up watching her on Sesame Street and 227. That show looks like it would have been a lot of fun with celeb guests. I'm guessing it was done in the very early 2000's.
  21. Joan Van Ark appears in a promo/pilot for a cooking show hosted by actress Alaina Reed-Hall (Sesame Street & 227). The show must have not been picked up as I don't recall it airing. Reed-Hall passed away in 2009.
