  1. Say what?!
  2. I wonder why the quality of writing has deteriorated so much over the years. I'm sure there are talented people still out there, capable of nuanced, layered writing. And shows like Coronation Street and EastEnders are primetime shows watched by large audiences. They should be able to attract more talented writers. But maybe their soap opera status is an obstacle?
  3. For some reason this song comes to mind....
  4. Don't even try anything like that! You know damn well what I meant. A picture of Patrick McNee and Diana Rigg has no relevance whatsoever in this thread, just like your long rambling on famous soap fans had no place in the "What are you listening to" thread just to name another example.
  5. I think AdamNewmanFan meant that no-one wants you to post any more quotes from it here!!
  6. Donna, will you please stop posting stuff that is completely irrelevant to the thread which you post it in!! This behaviour is childish!
  7. If it's not on topic then why the hell are you posting it here??!! Stop behaving like a complete idiot!!
  8. Zoe's exit....
  9. In memory of Leah Bracknell (1964-2019)
  10. Oh no. R.I.P sweet Leah. At least her suffering is over. Zoe was a vital part of Emmerdale for a long time, and one of its most iconic characters. Her departure in 2005 was the end of an era. ETA: I wonder if it was a deliberate choice to announce her death on the same date that Emmerdale Farm premiered 47 years ago....
  11. ^^ That was an interesting read. Opinions definitely vary a lot regarding this movie. Whether it will be rewarded by the AMPAS or not is a different matter. The Academy usually tend to go for the "safer" option when it comes to Best picture. I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, but off the top of my head I can only think of "The Silence of the Lambs" beating "Bugsy", "JFK", "The Prince of Tides" and "Beauty and the Beast" as an example of when the more controversial choice came out on top.
