  1. Yeah, I didn't know either until I saw the article. Another article from the following year said she was let go from Days when a new producer took over.
  2. Amanda Jones was Miss USA in 1973 (1st runner-up in Miss Universe), and her mother was soap radio actress Eloise Kummer.
  3. In his book, he listed them by the actors moreso than the characters. Besides Bill and Drake, they were Macdonald Carey, Josh Taylor, James Reynolds, Peter Reckell, and Stephen Nichols.
  4. Rick Edelstein, who wrote for The Doctors in 1968-1969, died in September. He also wrote for Bright Promise and How to Survive a Marriage, as well as prime-time shows. https://www.emmys.com/bios/rick-edelstein?fbclid=IwY2xjawGbeJhleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHd0BaM70Hq4EAJCYqMdUOj_HkukYjLdu0-sYOaB4WMxmzlqz3Jo45u0-fQ_aem_eVuwk62jO-sB3eAmPCpaCQ
  5. Found this from the August 20, 1984, Modesto Bee. Looks like the appearance was on August 23. https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-modesto-bee/158442383/
  6. Variety interview with Susan Seaforth Hayes. There is a brief clip of Doug and Julie from 1970 after the paragraph that mentions Bill and Susan being on the cover of Time Magazine. https://variety.com/2024/tv/actors/days-of-our-lives-susan-seaforth-hayes-tribute-bill-hayes-1236198164/
  7. It will be 5 relatives of Konstantin if Catherina comes to Salem too.
  8. I didn't like Robin very much. Her background was interesting but she always seemed so cold to me. I liked April much better.
  9. Birgitta Tolksdorf (Arlene Lovett) died on Sept. 13. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/st-louis-mo/birgitta-hutig-11987854
  10. @DRW50 I'm pretty sure the "prosecutor" is Frank Overton (played the sheriff in To Kill a Mockingbird). I've seen the "communist" in a lot of things but can't think of his name. I want to say it's Arthur Franz, but I'm not positive about that one.
  11. @slick jones The name of Tom Happer's character on CBS DAYTIME 90 was Tony Dean. I also found a mention in a 1973 article that he had appeared on SEARCH FOR TOMORROW.
  12. @DRW50 I think Virginia "Ginger" Jones played Mildred for the entire run. So probably not Jone, unless she was filling in.
  13. Thanks @DRW50!
  14. GL had given her time off to film the movie and then let her go after the movie project fell through.
  15. Great find @te.!
  16. A few synopses. The first one is from December 1958, and the remainder are for 1959.

  18. Good point.
  19. Haven't come across any. One book said they scrubbed the tapes every 30 days, at least in the early years.
