  1. That just made me feel old. 🙄
  2. Thanks for the link! I loved the characters of Ruby and Reena as a kid. I was 8 when this originally aired. I remember the characters/actors more than any real story line.
  3. I thought David Forsyth was offered recurring at the time of Anna Holbrook's dismissal and he turned it down. Not sure if that's true. It could just be a faulty memory. haha. Even though I had never watched Sharon Gabet on EON, I was thrilled when I read she was coming to AW because I was aware of her popularity. The show was a mess her whole time there. I wish she had been a rival to Donna in some way (former boarding school roommate or something) who came to town and stirred up trouble. Maybe if she flirted with Peter to get under Donna's skin (much like Cecile and Peter back in the day) and was a peer to them instead of a weak, abused character her stint could have worked better. Just IMO.
  4. Yes, thank you! It seems the actors took the shows so seriously back then, almost as if they were doing theater instead of television drama. I suppose I can understand that since many of the actors early on came directly from theater, but seems so strange to me now. Could you imagine what Jacquie or George would think of Ron Carlivati's camp on DAYS right now?!! haha
  5. I could read these old articles all day! Thanks! As AW is my all-time fave, I loved the one about George Reinhold being let go. I guess I never realized he was on the show for 7 years. For some reason, I thought it was shorter than that. Seems like such a bold thing back then to fire one of your leading stars because of their attitude! I wonder if that kind of thing would still happen today if the actor had a huge following. Shows can't afford to lose any viewer any more.
  6. I loved Lexi and Michael at the end. They could have been a great couple for S8 to go against Peter and Amanda. Didn't Lisa Rinna say she was ready to return if there had been a S8 (after having her baby)? Of course, it is Lisa Rinna who probably says anything. haha. Throwing Taylor in the mix with Peter/Amanda, Michael/Lexi, and Kyle/Jane could have been fun! I thought the show was starting to come back around when S7 ended. If I had done S8, I would have tried hard for those seven characters, let go Megan and Ryan (Boring!!!), brought on one new character that was a half-brother to Peter, and "rested" Eve until the last couple of episodes leading up to a big revenge type cliffhanger in the style of Kimberly blowing up the apt. complex.
  7. I can't believe that Tuesday makes 20 years since ANOTHER WORLD left the air. I miss this show dearly at times and especially my fave, Cecile! I invested so much in this show when I was growing up and always wished I could live in Bay City with Cecile, Cass, Felicia, Wally, et al.
  8. Was Stephen Schnetzer (AW) ever nominated? I know Cass was often goofy in a way but some of his work during the manic depressive storyline and Frankie's death was great.
  9. I always found the character of Joe to be boring and Judi playing Paulina softened the character in the end. Paulina should have been more active in Cory Publishing and Cali Timmins would have been a better match against Carmen's Iris. I loved their rivalry.
  10. I'd love to have Anna Stuart back onscreen, even if a temp role. They all look great. Can't believe we are coming up on 20 years since AW's last ep!
  11. I LOVED Sam and Amanda in the very beginning. They were my fave daytime couple until the writers ruined it by having Amanda be pregnant so early on. It had been such a great Romeo & Juliet type story being Rachel's daughter and Mitch's brother with Mac looking on. They should have played them up more before saddling them with a baby...to then only have Olivia thrown in with a baby of her own. Sandi Ferguson was Amanda to me although I did like Laura Moss. I remember being disappointed when Laura had been let go because I thought she was just getting into it. Matt Crane was definitely Matthew and I never liked Brian Krause or Jeff Phillips in the role. Jeff and Lisa Peluso I thought worked well together but he just wasn't Matthew. I preferred Larry Lau as Jamie over Russell Todd. (I don't really remember the others before that.) Maybe because I was a big fan of Jamie/VIcky (Anne Heche) then. I wish they had brought him back after Russell Todd. Cecile!!!!! My fave character of all-time on AW. She should have at the very least been brought on the last couple of episodes to interrupt Cass and Lila's wedding instead of the stupid Gorilla story. I think it would have been much more drama to have Cecile show up just as the wedding starts and profess her love to Cass one more time, only to be let down. While others in the audience (Rachel, Felicia, etc could make snide comments about her and show flashbacks.) My biggest gripe about the finale was how little they showed flashback history. Yes, I know, it was thrown together last minute and they had all that they could do just to end it but still......
  12. I agree, Grant and Cecile could have been an interesting pairing! If only her and Cindy had a chance to quarrel.
  13. It's the 2 o'clock hour and i'm really missing this show today! Wishing I had some comfort of hanging out with my friends: Cass, Felicia, Jake, and Vicky. I wonder what Cecile is up to these days. She's probably still a "Queen" of some third world country that has guerrilla henchmen guarding her estate. Or maybe even gorillas. I mean, it is Cecile. Who the Hell knows?
  14. She was also on AW in '95 playing Bunny Eberhardt. I believe it was right after Jake returned from "the dead" and he owed gambling money or something. She came to collect for her boss(es) and held he and Paulina hostage.
  15. I agree. The only time i didn't like Felicia was her pairing with John. Something about it just didn't fit and she came off horribly toward Sharlene. I never really enjoyed her pairing with Mitch either. I thought her best was Lucas and I even enjoyed her match with Zane which ended too quickly.
  16. Nothing against Jane Elliott but I'm glad they went with Linda. She embodied Felicia Gallant! The character, I believe, only lasted as long as it did because of Linda. I couldn't imagine anyone else as Felicia.
  17. I just watched this ep again the other day along with some other eps from '83. I always forget how much of a snotty b*tch Felicia was in the early days. I find it to be an almost completely different character.
  18. Man, I miss Cecile DePoulignac! My fave AW character of all-time. Loved how Mac, Rachel, and Felicia weren't enthusiastic about going to the dinner party because it was Cecile. haha. And Felicia's outfit! Holy 80's! Loved it.
  19. I'm surprised Randy never went on to a successful role on another show after Texas. I thought he was popular.
  20. My first thought was Central Park West too! Madchen Amick as Carrie was everything to me! haha A quick second thought was...Titans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcY_lhECtcE
  21. I watched last night and was only semi-impressed. I think the show's biggest problem is that it was touted as a reboot. They should have just started a new show with new character names and let the comparisons go from there instead of trying to say that they ARE Dynasty. It definitely had the style, direction, and feel of Gossip Girl, which I suppose is what was intended considering it has the same show runners.
  22. I can't see the writers doing the backstory of MJ having been a hooker if Kathleen Layman was still playing the part. Adam and MJ would probably never have been a couple either. She probably would have gone in a totally different direction. I actually enjoyed Adam and MJ (Sally Spencer) very much and were upset when they destroyed them with Chad's arrival.
  23. 30 Years Ago today Anne Heche debuted as Victoria. Good. God. I'm. Old.
  24. Yes, they were such an odd pairing but worked for me as well. Would liked to have seen how that played out. If Felicia would have stayed with him for long or just been a "fling" for her? I, also, thought at the end having Marley and Tyrone together was interesting. They could have played out the beats of his family's opposition to him being with the "crazy lady" for several months and the two, I thought, had great chemistry.
  25. I thought the show was getting much better at the end of its run as well. I liked having Ellen Wheeler back to the show even though I hated the "crazy Marley" story with her obsessed with Jake (who raped her). I LOVED that Alice Barrett was back and stirring things up for Cass and Lila. I thought that story had great triangle potential. Amanda's pairing with Cameron was my favorite of hers since Sam and enjoyed them. Cindy and David/Jordan Starks could have been a fun couple and throw in Donna in the mix (as mentioned above) and a Cindy/Donna rivalry could have been a hoot. I was so disappointed that the show was yanked when it was. There had been several years where it was less watchable than it was in early '99.
