Recasts You Think Could've Worked
I wonder if Charlotte Ross (Eve, DAYS) would have been a good replacement for Anne Heche (Vicky/Marley) when she left? I think as Eve, Charlotte played the innocence and wild child well.

Andy? Steven Ford's character? He hasn't been relevant for ages. If Paul isn't going to be on, what's the point?

Recasts You Think Could've Worked
This could have been amazing. Beth/Denise Alexander against Stephanie/Susan Flannery. This could have been milked for years.

ARTICLE: ‘General Hospital’ Updates Opening Sequence with New Theme Music and New Cast Images
I'd still love to see the ambulance rush by in front of the hospital. I know. I know. What hospital?

Characters: The Aborted & The Wasted
AW: Peggy Lazarus (Rebecca Hollen) Caroline Stafford (Joy Bell) Kevin Anderson (Jamie Goodwin). His character was just a mess. As Jake's half-brother, he should have been on for years. Brittany Peterson Love (Sharon Gabet). Another hot mess. First she was deaf and had to talk with sign language and then she ended up in middle of Sally/Catlin just to end up in an abusive marriage to Peter.

Days of Our Lives: February 2022 Discussion Thread
It's too bad the show was preempted for two weeks. I always feel like every time the audience has a chance to get out of the habit of watching everyday, they have a chance to not return. The numbers for DAYS may not be the greatest, for the most part, they're as steady as the rest of their lineup. If you want viewers to be loyal to you, be loyal to them. Have their show on when they're accustomed to watching it.

GH Feb sweeps
I'd take TSJ on GH but as a new character. I'm not sure he'd work as a recast again. Maybe a new Quartermaine? I'd like it if the show expanded that family since it's been so decimated. Tracy was gone for a long time. Maybe a half-brother to Ned that no one knew about? A love interest for Britt? She could find him on one of her dates while Austin is her wingman.

Retro SOD Article: Bomb’s Away! Soaps’ Biggest Story Mistakes
AW: I enjoyed RKK initially as Sam when he and Amanda met and fell in love. Up until they saddled Amanda with a pregnancy. Bobby/Shane never worked for me. I know AW wanted RKK back and he balked at playing Sam again. They probably came up with Bobby too quickly without much thought. A bigger mistake for AW was killing off Frankie to use her money for that mess! DAYS: I couldn't stand the slasher story because I loved Renee! I was devastated when she was killed off! I stopped watching for many years. That was the first real story that upset me (and I was 10!) The Texas cancellation the year before also bothered me but not as much.

Promised Land - New Midseason Drama
This show keeps getting more fun as it goes along. I hope it's given a chance by ABC. I'd love for it to come back in the Fall.

GENERAL HOSPITAL February 2022 Discussion Thread
I'm not debating whether Gina Tognoni is better than Sarah Brown, but I'd take her on GH. I'd love to see her mix it up with Laura Wright again. Not to mention Maura West, Cynthia Watros. I'd enjoy it. She'd definitely hold her own with them.

Y&R February 2022 Discussion Thread
A soap breaking the fourth wall could be fun right now and something totally different. It just needs the right tongue-in-cheek writing. C'mon Y&R. Give us something different. (Though this seems more up Days's alley.)

Favorite character from each soap right now
Y&R: Lauren (when she's on), Sally B&B: Katie (because it's Heather Tom) GH: Felicia. I've loved her since the Frisco/Felicia early days. Days: Xander. If Judi Evans were still Adrienne I'd have said her because she always has my AW love, but I just can't with Bonnie.

Name a Critical Year on a Soap
I remember when I was a kid being devastated in 1986 when I found out that AW was losing Ellen Wheeler (Marley/Vicky), Tom Eplin (Jake), Stephen Schnetzer (Cass), and Julie Osburn (Kathleen) at the end of summer with announcements that Anna Stuart (Donna) and Sharon Gabet (Brittany) were also leaving in the fall. Nancy Frangione (Cecile) also left again after her summer story. These were my faves on the show and drove most of the story. I think the show floundered after all the mass exodus and it turned more viewers away. Viewers the show already couldn't afford to lose.

Did they blow their budget on all that lettering for a cheezy "Memory Book"?

Guiding light alum joins YR
I agree that picture makes Ashland look like a contemporary of Victor (and old enough to be Victoria's dad). I never thought that before. With the way Ashland seems to be "over-stepping" in Victoria's eyes, hopefully they won't be a couple much longer. Ashland should pursue Nikki.

Some people on this board have been begging for a serial killer storyline. Now you have the setup. Sally mad at everyone. Chloe, Chelsea. Adam. Victor. Jack. Phyllis. Lauren. There you go. Clean house and then write off Sally who isn't much needed anyway.

All: character may be killed off
So is Days the show having an exodus? Abigail, Ben, and most likely Ciara. Who else? Probably Lucas with the way his story's going.

All: character may be killed off
I could see it being Kirsten Storms as Maxie. Hasn't she had a lot of health issues over the years? Maybe she has told them she doesn't want to renew a contract (or asked to be let go). That could be why they brought on Felicia and the Louisa story seems to be wrapping up so quickly, after how long? The recast of a vet could be Frisco.

That's not good. If the ep was already released on Hulu, maybe people figured why watch again?

Y&R January 2022 Discussion Thread
If they need to take Phyllis in a new direction, get her a brand new man that's a brand new character. It would open up so many storyline possibilities. There are plenty of talented actors out there to pair her with: Trevor St. John Mark Pinter Matthew Ashford (if he's recurring on Days) Kamar de los Reyes Ted King Dan Gauthier

Y&R January 2022 Discussion Thread
I've said before I'd be down for Sally/Nick. Lots of trouble could come from that. I remember thinking when I saw a scene of Chelsea and Noah together that they should go there. Again, it would stir things up. Sharon, Adam, Nick would go crazy and just imagine Victor.

Promised Land - New Midseason Drama
I really liked it as well. The last fifteen mins or so were the best as things came together. Lots of "soapy drama" set ups for future eps.. I hope it does well. There's potential. That's more than I could have said after watching some of the other premieres. BTW...I might be biased because Scandal is a top 3 show of all-time for me. I love me some Mellie!

#1 I'll go with Thorne on B&B. You know Brad Bell likes to hype up returns. Since Taylor's replacement worked so well, he's probably considering more. (And it isn't like the show hasn't had different Thornes before.) #3 Why would DAYS consider cutting now. A lot of the actors are already recurring and they've been picked up for the two year renewal. I think that would give them a little time before having to address budget issues. B&B doesn't have much of a cast to begin with. So my guess is Y&R since it has been struggling in the ratings. I wouldn't be surprised if Mishael Morgan (Amanda) were let go again. The show doesn't know how to develop and keep talent. Who else? Rey? Mariah? Tess? #4 It said "these two", not necessarily a couple. I'd go with DAYS's Galen Gering and Brandon Beemer. I thought I've seen some clips of those two somewhere and they were cracking up trying to get through a scene. Maybe I'm wrong.
