  1. I have a feeling they know they'll never be getting Susan Lucci.
  2. Loathsome even by the rock bottom standards of the Washington Post. They will do anything to help their hero Glenn Youngkin.
  3. Drew is more known and had also pulled out of an awards show hosting job because of the strike. That show has been on fumes for many years now. I guess CBS has literally nothing else.
  4. Any Kimberley Davies fans may enjoy this - a pilot she did in 1998 (with Mark Hamill, Rachel Bilson, Richard Burgi, among others).
  5. Linda and Alicia are one of the best mother-daughter duos ever on soaps. I'm glad they are still close. Alicia was just riveting to watch. She deserved a bigger career. I would love if she interviewed Nora Dunn, who played her on SNL, but I know that isn't likely.
  6. Thanks. I thought about asking but didn't want to pester as I'd sent a few other questions. And thanks for recapping the Anna Stuart/Linda Dano podcast a few days ago.
  7. November 8th-12th 1976 was the week that Edge episode aired. I looked under some 1972/1973/1974 synopses for AW but could have missed something.
  8. I was looking in an old soap magazine which praised the Nancy and Mike two-hander on Edge of Night. They said the first time this had happened on a soap was Steve and Alice on AW. Which episode was this? I am trying to remember if we'd talked about it before.
  9. I didn't realize until now that Jon Hensley was only 20/21 around this time. He always played as older to me.
  10. I think it may be down to Anna arriving as Robert's ex, while Robert's rooting interest was with Holly and eventually, Anna's with Duke. Anna and Robert were not primed as a couple fans were meant to root for.
  11. Thanks @Soaplovers for your insights. I haven't watched these since the Soapnet airings so the insights are a nice memory jog. I agree that this was the best period for Ronnie, who was so warm and kind and deserved more focus. I fully agree Denise should have been tied to the Matthews rather than a family that was already fading out by the time she joined the show. I never can remember whether Denise wanted to leave but by 1988 it was clear they had lost interest in the character. All of the Sharlene and Frame Farm history in this period gets confusing.
  12. One of the worst PR videos I've ever seen. Not that it's going to affect them much, career-wise, but they were just half-assing the whole way through. This whole mess has led people to compile various clips of the way Mila Kunis was spoken about when she was on the show (joining at 14), the way Ashton spoke about 15-year old Hilary Duff, etc. I remember those times, and yet it still makes my blood run cold. (not that today's times are much better)
  13. https://moviessilently.com/2023/03/26/dynamite-smith-1924-a-silent-film-review/ Dynamite Smith, a film produced by Thomas Ince (one of his last films) and starring Charles Ray (one of his last big movies), with Bessie Love in support and Wallace Beery as the villain, was found earlier this year in the collection of the late David Wyatt. They cleaned it up as best they could and added some English translation for the Dutch subtitles. They also made it free on Youtube if you want to watch.
  14. Thanks everyone for the other obituaries and articles which went into more detail than the more hollowed out infotainment sites provide. I never knew about her helping her father get an idea made into a HBO movie.
  15. You're right. I think Carolee said she ad-libbed much of it, like the conversations with her mother.
  16. I don't really want to post the video link all over the board, as I already have twice, but if you look in the Classic GH thread, at about 4 minutes, there's a promo for November 20, 1979 - the entire ABC soap lineup.

  20. Thanks for the gifs @Ms. Quartermaine they look great. The last 14 minutes of the November 20, 1979 episode were uploaded. They feature a few Tracy scenes.
  21. Last 14 minutes of the November 20, 1979 episode. Some fun Tracy scenes, and also some exploration of the fallout for Bobbie after Roy was killed (remember when soaps cared about aftermath?) that reminds of Jackie Zeman's talents and the power of the Luke/Bobbie relationship.
  22. Agnes Nixon Interview on the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of "All My Children" (January 5, 1995) - YouTube
