  1. Meg Ryan has directed and is starring in a new romantic comedy.
  2. A reupload of the 1953 episode put up a few days ago. (the uploader said the original had some issue)
  3. That's so hard to watch - the fear and confusion in his eyes. I notice again how gracious many, especially in the press, have been to him in these circumstances compared to Dianne Feinstein.
  4. Glad to hear she's still making new music.
  5. Charles “Chip” Dox Dies; Former Production Designer Was 80 – Deadline
  6. Nicholas Hitchon Dead: Boy’s Life Was Chronicled In ‘Up’ Documentaries – Deadline Michael Apted's "Up" series was well-known, and loved, by generations. Many of the kids inevitably had very mixed feelings (and one had a very ugly falling out with Apted), but Hitchon was one who stayed to the end of the series, where he said he knew he probably wouldn't be alive for the next one. (given that Apted passed a few years ago I'm not sure there will be a next one)
  7. John de Lancie talks about his time with Arleen. Arleen Sorkin Death: John de Lancie Honors ‘Days of Our Lives’ Co-Star – TVLine
  8. I could definitely see Felicia being bitchy (even if we were supposed to see her as the sympathetic figure in this plot), but seeing that clip all I could think was that Cecile, around the same time, and made into a one-note villain in her return, made the comment about Charlie's heart condition that led Frankie to slug her. A "bad" character saying that and a "good" character saying the above just reinforces how amoral the whole canvas had become under JFP.
  9. Even with all Eddie Drueding's old writeups of how unpleasant and plot-driven this story was, it's still tough to take - hearing Felicia shame Sharlene for becoming a prostitute through sexual abuse is just despicable.
  10. This is also true of France: Funny how the people who keep saying take the deal now because all productions will flee never mention these other countries.
  11. https://deadline.com/2023/08/joe-the-plumber-dead-obituary-1235529538/ Hard to believe this incident was once seen as out of the norm. Anyway, I'm sorry to his family.
  12. Same as it ever was. I do think social media helps with this a little bit, getting more knowledge out, but I thought of this comment thread when I saw her Deadline obit that went into great detail about her other work then reduced her time on DAYS to one sentence.
  13. Thanks @Dion So clearly a big transition period.
  14. Thanks. I forgot Stu wasn't involved at Jo's first place. I wonder how long this Henderson House was even around.
  15. Thanks! I checked in the cast thread but didn't see the change as the search on here is hard to navigate. And thanks for answering my question. I can never remember if that's the place Jo and Stu ran in the '50s or another place. The little details we find in these uncovered episodes just help with the overall experience - like finding small puzzle pieces.
  16. Now that we've seen Les Damon playing Jim Wilcox in a 1953 Search episode I guess his credit there runs from 53-54 instead of just 54?
  17. Thanks @j swift
  18. Daily Wire is a trash site run by grifting hatemongers.
  19. Thanks @te. ! I could swear I've never seen this episode before. Have any of you? Is this the first time we've seen the exterior of Henderson House in the surviving episodes? @vetsoapfan @slick jones do you know? Can't remember. The attempt at making up the entryway to the place, with the chairs and "tea dansant" sign, give this a little more life than some of the usual barren soap sets (one of which we see later in the episode). Even if it's not a very exciting episode, somehow 3 characters in 15 minutes still makes me care more than 20 in the hour episodes of today.
  20. The last 17 or 18 minutes of a Neighbours episode - not sure of the Australian airdate. (for any game show fans, this episode of Going For Gold was apparently "lost"). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23fwY5XUImg
  21. I have many fond childhood memories of watching the show, which, when it was good, was fantastic. It was always just on in the background, either at my home or someone else's. It was ever-present in American life. Bob was an integral part of that, even if he was never the element which made me feel most at home as a viewer (that was often the models and Rod Roddy). After everything I heard about what happened with Dian, and Holly, I never really watched again, with no regrets. There was so much else that I didn't even know of until just now (like what happened with Rod). I miss what that show, for those years, represents in my mind, even if it's never going to be the show that was most special to me (that was stuff like Sale of the Century, or even Double Dare, Classic Concentration, etc.). He was certainly a very talented and charismatic presence onscreen and knew how to play with the audience. And he did a lot for animals. Rest in peace.
  22. I don't think they have the majority of the public (the press I'm not too sure of), but I do think in some cases apathy ends up being as persuasive. They mostly know they can just keep waiting the WGA and SAG out with all the piles of cash they are sitting on, but I guess this crisis firm is a way to try to flex and speed things up.
  23. I assume that means they know this will drag on for a long time and they are girding their loins. So many in the press have already been carrying water for them and now just have even more incentive. I saw that the Deadline article tried to frame this as the AMPTP being outfoxed by the nimble, scheming WGA. You can tell they are shaken up that more of the public aren't supportive of them (even if most of the public is probably very apathetic toward everyone involved).
