  1. Not a bad trailer.
  2. This episode is probably already around in full, sorry, but this clip has about 6 minutes (at the start) of a 1992 episode.
  3. I agree with much of this article, especially the quotes from Michael Cashman, but this type of article is 15-20 years out of date. The time of extinction has long passed. Even the mention of Housewives, a franchise that is heading toward its last years, is about a decade old. Russell Davies basically said a decade ago that UK soaps were going to die if they didn't make changes (none of the changes he suggested were followed, sadly). I'm surprised they think that Amazon's Lord of the Rings show is all that talked about. Beyond hate channels I never hear any talk of it.
  4. At about an hour and 46 minutes there's a very childish office fight with Ted, Mason and Kelly. It's strange picturing Kelly screaming and throwing things around in a tantrum fight with her brothers, but if I would have cast anyone to do that, ice queen Eileen Davidson would be near the bottom of the list. What exactly the thought process was in choosng her, I will never know.
  5. Thank you for all you do @slick jones I know it must be annoying when you're tagged and it's something you already have, but you just keep on trucking.
  6. The GOP has already bragged about their "don't say gay" bill plans if they take back Congress, but the strategic figures of the party are planning much more, saying outright they are just going to start arresting people. It's horrifying, most of all because so many do not care. I guess they don't think it will affect them, until it ultimately does.
  7. Most of the Doctor Who-themed dances on Strictly are cheap and not worth sitting through, unless you have fantasies about 1966-era Cybermen having juicy asses, anyway, but this one was a huge step up - terrific costumes, makeup, lighting, music, and prop work.
  8. I don't know how much of it I fully believe, but t's McCarthy coming out so clearly saying they will not raise the debt ceiling and will demand cuts that makes me more wary...that and Saudi Arabia blatantly sabotaging Biden.
  9. I don't think Corrie brought back any for their 50th, although they have since. Sadly, Emmerdale of all the soaps is most dearly ashamed of its past.
  10. I saw this going around. I don't agree with all the details (especially when it segues into "wobbly" Democrats), but it does make me wonder.
  11. I have tried to watch some of the week, but I am mostly thrown by how lacking in any real emotion or drive the show is. When Kim Tate is one of the only characters on the show who has any believable sense of grief (over someone she didn't even like), something is wrong. I was especially appalled by the behavior of Chas.
  12. This last story is so distressing to me. I've heard some people say the pandemic has accelerated this ugliness and bigotry and paranoia at school board meetings, but I also think a failing, dying country, with a corrupt media and at least one party who only operate on hate and fear and violence, inevitably has this type of display as an increasing norm. People can't push back as they are in fear for their safety and their life.
  13. Sad news. She was on briefly in the '80s as Kelvin's girlfriend.
  14. I would suggest a show that did not give up on black characters in 1995.
  15. They were never going to do anything with Sonny anyway, as he's gay, and he's not a camptress we can tee hee at like show pet Leo. I feel bad for Zack's fans but I'm sure he'll get much bigger parts soon enough. Look on the bright side - at least you won't have to see a comedy story where Sonny tries to rape a straight man to turn him gay.
  16. When you're too far gone for Newsmax...
  17. I definitely don't trust the media. Beyond horse race coverage, many of the toxic operators who collaborate with the worst in this country and internationally, like Sirota, are already pushing the line that abortion is going to cost Democrats and that they should have focused on economic issues and so on. I also know if Democrats manage to not collapse from where they are now in polling this would be a much better midterm for them than many would have expected six months ago. It's just after so many elections, especially 2014 and 2016, I have no more expectation of the public seeing what is best for them, even when Republicans are explicitly telling them they are coming to take everything they have.
  18. This is why I despair of the polls saying Republicans are gaining because of anxiety over the economy. I know the media is in the GOP's corner, 100%, but I still wish more people could just see the reality of what is going to happen. They're telling us everything. It's moments like these when you are reminded of why people give up on politics.
  19. Given that William R Moses' main claim to fame was a soap, I don't really see the difference, but it will be nice to have him on TV again. Denise Crosby too. I won't be watching, but I wish them luck.
  20. @vetsoapfan @victoria foxton @Vee @Paul Raven @slick jones @Franko @marceline @dc11786 @danfling @SFK @AMCOLTLLover (sorry for any I didn't include) The first part of this was uploaded 6 years ago. The uploader just found the last 16 minutes of the episode.
