  1. A full Guiding Light episode, with commercials, at the start of this video. I'm not sure of the exact date but based on the promo about La Toya Jackson being in Playboy, I would guess sometime in early March or mid-March 1989. There is a promo for a Murder She Wrote repeat; there was a new episode at the end of February as well as the 12th of March, so it can't fit those time periods. This is also before some of the Vault episodes like March 23rd. @Vee @SFK Ellen Holly has a few good scenes in the early part of the episode, reprising her judge role. There are some nice scenes with Philip and Elizabeth Denehy's Blake too. Never thought I'd see Blake talking about the Long, Long Trailer. 2. A December 1988 episode (looks like the 28th). There aren't as many on Youtube and this one seems to be an original rather than a Soapnet repeat. ia800506.us.archive.org/7/items/another-world_202308/Another World.mp4
  3. Trump was back on Twitter to post this. That is probably his biggest sign of weakness yet.
  4. Reading in an old TV Guide, I see a mention that Aaron Spelling wanted Barbara Stanwyck on Hotel (rather than Anne Baxter, presumably), but she was not likely to say yes as she was thinking of retiring. After The Colbys I guess she wished she had just retired.
  5. Apparently, this might be about 30 seconds of film, from what someone else said. The below is all that is available of Cleopatra for now:
  6. Coulter has a history of wishing violence and death on NYT personnel. Not that those who run the place care, clearly.
  7. I don't think they were in the wrong either. Friends was a show I never liked (and Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow are the only two people on there I find to be worth watching - not to derail your point), and it has dated very badly, much worse than MSW in my opinion. I don't blame Friends for the end of MSW, and I doubt Angela did either, but poking some fun at it wasn't a big deal.

  9. Bash is also, as a few people mentioned, one of the main media voices who kept going on about Trump's "new tone."
  10. Tells you how unhinged the reaction to Meghan Markle is that they had to turn off comments on such a harmless tweet.
  11. I remember some comments about this with regard to one of the videos that Murder She Wrote recap woman on Youtube made, about the episode with Andrew Stevens as a smooth talker who was into older women and might have been a killer - that it couldn't have been done in later seasons of the show.
  12. Not a surprise, but still, what a [!@#$%^&*] joke...and so brazen too.
  13. Thanks @Melroser I was looking for that clip.
  14. Didn't see that. Still, it was worth reading.
  15. More game-playing from the studios that is going to keep stalling this out. I wonder if the people who think the powers that be want to stall this out to make it easier to just dump anything and everything are right. https://deadline.com/2023/08/wga-strike-guild-regjects-latest-studio-offers-rips-ceos-1235525784/
  16. Joel Crothers is in the first ad (maybe the first ad I've ever seen him in). Jon Cypher is in one later in the video.

    Thanks!
  18. Thanks. I didn't even know she'd been on GH, then or now. She and Grace Philips interacted for such a short time on OLTL yet they're still good friends now. That's something. I'm glad they talked with her so much about the Daisy Awards and trying to treat soaps with respect (something many in the genre now don't seem to care about).
  19. David Jacobs Dead: ‘Dallas,’ ‘Knots Landing’ Creator Was 84 – The Hollywood Reporter Dallas is the show I grew up with, and had the most worldwide notice, but Knots Landing is the show that captured me when I was more discerning and has stayed with me. The intricate, believable, and heartfelt stories he put into motion, blessed with some of the most complex characters you would ever find on soaps. I'm glad to this day there is still discussion and discovery and rediscovery of the show, and that he let us into his world for those vital years.
  20. I'm very sorry to hear about Nancy passing away. I first saw her in the compilation tapes Eddie Drueding made, immediately drawn into the humor and zaniness of Cecile and the group with Cass, Felicia and Wallingford (and later Kathleen). Nancy could have been right at home in the '30s screwball era. She was a great example of what made AW survive in the early/mid '80s in spite of so many things going against it - personality, style, humor, and the narrative of a found family. When I got to see more of her work, like her scheming to win Peter, I was even more impressed with how Nancy managed to take a character that had been so different when she arrived and make it her own. Cecile's returns were never quite the same, as Cass had become a more serious (and, when with Frankie, much drearier) character, but her 1989 run still has some spark, perfectly timed given the sorrow backstage. So many AW actors have left us recently, and so many of them from one era of the show. It's a reminder of how important is for whatever is left of the show, on screen or on the page, to be archived, and why I'm sorry so many cast and crew of those years were never given proper interviews when we had the chance.
  21. Geez, what a tough day. David Jacobs created some of the longest-running and most influential shows of all time and still never really got the credit he deserved. What a brilliant man.
  22. Thanks as always @slick jones
  23. https://variety.com/2023/music/news/ray-hildebrand-dead-paul-paula-pop-duo-1235700560/ I've always enjoyed "Hey, Paula." Such a sweet song, without the overproduction of many in that era.
  24. Thanks @Vee . Ronan has a bit of a rep as a giant-slayer, overhype or not, but Musk seems too ossified to ever go anywhere. Still, having more documentation on just what a deeply dangerous person he is is important. He is now turning against more of his insecure grievance peddlers like Catturd and James Woods over his plans to get rid of the block feature. The other thing about Elon, as shown when Succession tried to base a character on him in their last few seasons, is that for all his delusions of grandeur, he's incredibly dull.
