The LoL credits are unique (although maybe there are others along the same lines I've forgotten) in that they credit multiple actors in the opening.

Characters Without a Fanbase
I was a big fan of Carrie Genzel's Skye, if that counts. If Robin had stayed on AMC I think I might have connected more with her Skye, but she never felt natural to OLTL or GH to me.

That's interesting. I can see where pivoting to Laura again could have worked, although by that time David Henesy had left the show so they would have had to truly start from scratch.

Love of Life Discussion Thread
Sorry. This is my mess. What @vetsoapfan was originally talking about was another video I had posted along with this video which had various photos (it was on Youtube under Sally Stark). They said that didn't seem to be the same Sally Stark. I deleted that video. The video you're responding to I think they knew was Sally Stark. Thanks for your kind words. The channel isn't mine but I am always happy to share it as they have such great, extremely rare content.

No problem. I just remembered to tag you a few minutes ago so I'm glad you saw it anyway.

@vetsoapfan @Paul Raven @FrenchFan @dc11786 @will81 @j swift @robbwolff @Donna L. Bridges @te. @TEdgeofNight @Soaplovers @soapfan770 @danfling @antmunoz @Joseph @Vee @JAS0N47@slick jones (apologies for anyone I missed) This was just uploaded. I think this is the oldest LoL episode I've ever seen. Very good work from Jean McBride elevating the generic psychodramas. (she also has a somewhat "wilder" or "fallen woman" look here compared to some later years) I think she has a slip (she says "you'd never pay attention to a married man" instead of "married woman"). She carries through smoothly enough.

Dark Shadows Discussion Thread
I'm not sure if it's true or not but I think one site claimed Diana Millay asked the show to write her back in and Dan Curtis did (her marriage was ending around this time which might have been a factor in her wanting to go back), which might explain why her inclusion in the story felt somewhat pointless (beyond giving Angelique some cool material).

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I've been watching a number of old pilots lately. This, with Matthew Broderick and Kristen Johnson, among others, has what may be one of the more random Housewife cameos. About 20 minutes in, when Johnson's character gives a speech about tearing down a rotted schoolhouse, she introduces her preservation committee co-chair...Kelly Bensimon. Kelly grins and shakes her hand.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/david-mccallum-dead-ncis-man-from-uncle-1235598793/ David McCallum, still such a vital performer even in his last years. I loved him most on Sapphire and Steel, but where can you even start?

2023 Writers + Actors Strike Thread
And the talking points are wasting no time blaming the strike. These streams helped drive the strikes in the first place and likely helped strengthen the resolve of so many in the industry to keep the strike going. Streaming content had so much potential, and still does, but so many big execs got greedy, and now we're seeing the end result...poor quality reality product and home design sham shows, while genuine quality material that streaming was meant to help spotlight is being canceled before it ever airs.

Also a staple of my oldies station days. I still listen to those songs, especially Cherish, all the time.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I try to watch but don't feel a lot of connection to characters or stories - there's a certain heart missing. There are also attempts at being "cute" that annoy me as they seem to go against history (like Sonia loving true crime even though her ex-partner was murdered by a serial killer).

DAYS: Former Character & Their Actor Returns
I would say too late. Will it be the same without Eileen there? He's probably just going to be psycho or killed off. I did think Adam Caine was very charming the first time around.

I uploaded about 6 episodes (one from 1988, three from 1992, two from 1995 [one being Stacey's death episode, one a few weeks before the murders started]) that were available elsewhere but not on Youtube or used to be on there and were taken down. I'll just put the link to one.- Family Affairs
Never seen this before. @Ben @Forever8- 2023 Writers + Actors Strike Thread
They are going to use AI to eventually put everyone out of work - writers and actors, and many others. AI will be used to make many obsolete even outside of the industry. I hope if it is financially feasible the guild holds out as long as possible to help spare us that desolate future. (the talking point is often that there's no point in fighting, it's the future...all I have to say to that is - how much are those NFTs worth today?)- 2023 Writers + Actors Strike Thread
Thanks @JAS0N47 . I'm always curious about this subject with soap writers, as I remember Anne Howard Bailey was fired from Santa Barbara right after the '88 strike.- 2023 Writers + Actors Strike Thread
Thanks for the updates. So, since soap actors aren't part of the strike, does that mean as soon as the WGA deal is ratified, the striking DAYS writers immediately return? Sorry to ask you more questions, but were there any DAYS writers who didn't return after a writers' strike?- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
He's also a human trafficker. It's worse to me than him being a villain, because the show never treats him as one. We're always meant to feel sorry for him and see him as a good guy. The Martin story was apparently in part a story suggestion from James Bye (Martin), who wanted to do a dark/gangster plotline. - Family Affairs
