  1. That's hilarious. Thanks. She does get some of the Debbi mannerisms. Kudos to them for managing to film in a real grocery store.
  2. Which is why I said I could see them doing the same with Tabyana. Not insisting on sticking out the contract.
  3. This is so sweet. (I wonder if Frank is asking Ric to try to get Melina on the line)
  4. Steve was already ill around the August 1975 episode (the synopses posted mention him having a dizzy spell). I think he goes into remission and then when Nouri presumably wanted to leave, his illness returned, and he died.
  5. That was absolutely a big factor. It was easier to write for the Aldens around him as they were generally more one-dimensional. Cooper might be a more successful version of what they initially tried with Curtis.
  6. Of all the Aldens that would be centered on for most of the show's run (Trisha, Gwyn, Clay, and to a point Cabot and Isabelle), Curtis is the one who is most interesting, especially the jovial nature that belies an uglier underbelly. It's a shame the show lost this in the early '90s and then finally just made him a headcase.
  7. I agree, but I wonder if they may just be willing to work something out anyway. Wait several more months and then have a mutual statement, with Trina then saying she can't stay in Port Charles because of too many memories of Spencer. Laura wishes her well, and Joss says oh that's sad, now I don't have a friend, and Trina tells her everybody loves her, and then Trina leaves.
  8. Given what a mainstay Liza was in the show's last decade, and popular with multiple actresses, it's all the more bizarre just how much they threw Liza to the wolves after Sherry left (and maybe even while she was still there). I wonder how longtime fans felt about Liza and to a lesser degree Sunny being downgraded the way they were, especially as I'd imagine many of the newer fans had no interest in Patti. It must have felt especially bittersweet for Liza and Travis fans to see Rod Arrants briefly return when Sherry wasn't there.
  9. Wasn't NAC's contract not up yet either but they worked something out? I could see them making an arrangement with her.
  10. While I do blame him for many of the show's ails, apathy towards black characters (if not at times outright hostility) is a longstanding issue. Given the bigotry that is at the heart of this country I wouldn't be surprised if many at ABC are involved here. I wonder if it's a coincidence that the black characters were further marginalized just as it became obvious Trump was going to win the GOP nomination (and very possibly the Presidency). I would guess Taby is leaving and they made it clear to her they weren't going to give her anything to do. The lip service about Gio is clear when he is much more interested in Joss.
  11. Thanks. Oh I remember the NB moment now I think - how embarrassing. Was this meant to be hilarious? Nina has had so many insane storylines and connections with so many characters. It's a credit to Cynthia Watros that she makes it work.
  12. What was the last return? The character seemed to mostly be introduced so we would feel sorry for Sonny (again) and then he stayed on through Ric's efforts and his being an FOJ, so I am mostly just surprised he's survived this long. If that happens it would definitely be a coup.
  13. Nothing against Ric Hearst, who is a very charismatic presence (even if I've never really connected to most of his soap work, I admire how much he tries - he did yeoman's work in some nonsensical parts, including the whole "Whip" period on B&B), but I don't think he's being used as stunt casting against a soap that isn't even on yet.
  14. Sherry was there for a bit at least while Steve was still alive, although I'm not sure for how long. Thanks. I'll have to watch that clip. Steve had another song too, which didn't get as much use from the show as You Can Love Again.
  15. Bo/Hope wedding bloopers (wedding #1). These have been around but the picture quality here is better than other versions I've seen. Starts around 23 minutes.
  16. I completely forgot about that. I wonder how the Blair spinoff would have fared if it had been picked up.
  17. 1) I had no idea Michael Hawkins was in this film. 2) How often does Kari Lake watch this scene?
  18. There was so much going around about Lisa and her views at that time I am still surprised she managed a semi-comeback, but she handled her Survivor run very smartly. She now hosts Collector Call, and she does a decent job, so she's the main one I actually see of any of the four these days. Maybe that could have given her a bit of an ego. Not sure. In another thread I posted an interview with Mindy - I think she mentioned Nancy and Kim, but I can't remember if she mentioned Lisa. I could see them having each of them with a daughter and they meet up at a new Eastland. Maybe Jo, Blair, Tootie and Natalie just show up a few times a season.
  19. That's very touching, and gracious.
  20. I think that's the Sherry Mathis era, although I may be wrong. I didn't even remember until a few days ago that there was a Liza between Meg and Sherry.
  21. Thanks so much @NothinButAttitude ! Almost impossible to find Loving of this period. Chris Marcantel and Perry Stephens look so gorgeous, it's almost distracting from their scenes. The casting for the younger set was smart on a physical level, even if most of them are still learning to act. You can hear some of that clunky Marland dialogue, especially in the early pool scenes. Nice to see more of Pamela Blair, given her recent passing. Was this before Patricia Kalember cut her hair?
  22. That would be interesting to see. The Judi version (with her real life husband) is charming. Kristen is likely playing Julie's sister.
  23. I was watching some lost media finds of 2023 video and they mentioned two versions of a game show pilot, Combination Lock. This is the second pilot, hosted by Ty Treadway. The original pilot was made in 2006 so I guess this is from a year or two later.
