Odd that they do mention his other soap roles. I've seen little of the original Lily story, but I do remember how disturbing (intentionally so) his presence with Lily is. He got that across even in a still.

Knots Landing
I can't remember Jaime being on Knots either, even though Jaime is one of the more unique soap presences. I guess I was zoning out of a lot of Knots by that point.

Thanks. Never seen that. They made them both look past their best, especially Ted, who just looks rough here.

For me one of the problems with the Reardons is I don't think Marland did an especially great job setting them up. I like the idea of the boarding house and the Nola/Bea relationship, and I like Maureen as her own character, but Tony is unbearable and too much time is spent on his tantrums and on Nola's custody woes and Tony berating her. From the bits I've seen, they are easier to enjoy in the year or two after his exit, before Long/Kobe gut them along with the rest of the canvas.

That was one of the only Cosgrove characters I really liked too (and beyond Peter Reckell one of the only guys I thought had a spark with KA). He's good use here because he isn't playing another plaster saint and can just wallow in dirt. It helps that he's aged out of the boy wonder roles.

I've seen some fan comments upset about this because it means Sonny, Michael and Carly will be in the right. I suppose it tells you how much Rory Gibson has managed to pivot Michael for me away from just being Carly's son or Sonny's progeny because I don't even care. Oh and Drew's little tantrum on the stand may be one of Cameron Mathison's most effective performances. I laughed because Drew is a fool, yet I also paused because he reminds me so damn much of the people running companies and governments these days. Michael coolly smirking at him was also fun (and hot).

I could see Drew doing that for sure. He won't want to let her go. I could also see Michael and Willow carving out their own Monica and Alan lane (Monica never shot anyone but she did almost lobotomize them). It would be easy to write Chase out now, but I'd rather they just show his slow degradation. (and maybe some sleazier wardrobe)

@zanereed Thanks for giving the info on the stories Mike was meant to have. I never knew any of this. I do think he would have added more heft to the Barbados arc and bridged the gap as the stuff with the on the way out Reardon brothers/Annabelle and the never again seen Victoria/Sharina/Brandon ultimately went nowhere.

I thought it might be Scout, but that may have been too cliched in the wrong ways. I also half-expected Wiley, which would have been a bad idea for several reasons. I mostly just want to see Chase get shaken to his core by this - I want to see a full breakdown and losing everything and then maybe he can end up as Willow's manwhore on the side while she bleeds Drew dry and continues to have feelings for Michael.

Justin rarely went to awards shows. He didn't care about them. If he gave them away recently, it may be down to him having stage 4 lung cancer.- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
I didn't realize she had been on Y&R. I'm glad it helped pay for her health insurance, if nothing else. Just last year I watched her in Little Murders. I wasn't entirely sure how to take her performance, but it stays with you, as does the film. A very disturbing work which, cliche as it is to say, feels very current.- Another World Discussion Thread
Now there's a prequel I'd watch! My favorite part is about Rachel shoving Donna into a fruit basket. You can see why Anna Stuart was not happy with the writing...and also why Victoria Wyndham was so often unhappy with the writing to a point of leading her into Couplets Meets Bay City.- ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
They are scrounging around for any known property in talent show form. I'd say they'd bring back the Gong Show but that's probably been trademarked by someone in the government. This should be Netflix's next revival: Stairway To Stardom (1983) - show open with montage- Another World Discussion Thread

Beautiful and romantic is a good way to describe them. The women were allowed to have more complex inner lives and feelings and yet we could also aspire to their world. As the '80s go along the women become more like cardboard cutouts, with a few exceptions, but we see some glimmers of that era again here.- GH: January 2026 Discussion Thread

Thanks @Maxim . It's interesting seeing the levels of self-righteousness - Jason going off on Dorian even though he has no real right (although he was right to call her out on just why she went in on Marty), then Leanne taking the moral high ground on Jason when she of all people has no legs to stand on. I assume Leanne/Jason are still meant to be the rooting couple here, but it's difficult to care. Dorian pointing out Jason's roster of damsels amused me. I find the Jason/Marty relationship more interesting than his relationship with Leanne because I don't think he loves Marty, he just cares about her and wants her to be better, but not in a way I find heavily patronizing. I'm glad Dorian asked Jason why he even wanted to be with her if he has such a low opinion of her. At least that led him to say he cared (I wish he'd said a little more but clearly it's a struggle). - Loving/The City Discussion Thread
