  1. I think they did that half to promote the spin-off and also to keep the show in the air without wasting an episode during the Oscars.
  2. I've found myself listening more to her uptempo songs. I find Step By Step particularly touching in light of recent events. The performances of it are almost unwatchable it's so sad.
  3. We all know they don't decide at this point who is staying or going. Also, both Kim and Kandi's spin-offs are both limited runs. Kandi's is a one episode special and Kim's is just profiling her wedding. Of course if these things do well they'll bring them back, but it's different from Bethenny's spin-off which was always meant to be ongoing.
  4. Out of context the video did seem weird, but it's actually only one video and it's a recreation of Beyonce's Sweet Dreams video done for fun. Going by what was on the show it did seem weird, but those girls are so full of it. Evelyn and Jennifer have nude pictures out there. Kenya recreates a Beyonce music video and she's being weird? And she's too old for that? They are sick. That's why I can't love this show. They take such minor things and try to create these big fueds, but it makes them look so stupid. I still can't accept this ridiculous Jennifer/Evelyn fued which is clearly just because Evelyn needed a new storyline. You KNOW she's not that mad. The type of venom she's spewing is for someone who truly wronged you. Slept with your man or even tried to sleep with your man. Something like that.
  5. This is exciting. Makes me feel we're one step closer to my dream Real Housewives of London.
  6. For Beverly Hills they should've aired Lisa's spin-off as a special and if it's successful, they can pursue a series> T hat's what they're doing with Kandi's show The Kandi Factory. As for Taylor returning, that is pretty heartbreaking lol. She's the absolute worst and I can't handle another season of her BS. I can't wait to see what her excuse is next for her craziness...

Honestly, that time was very rough for The View and very toxic behind the scenes. Star was fired due to personal problems with Barbara. Yes Star got flack from people for using sponsers to pay for and promote her wedding on The View, but guess what? The View was a huge flop in the ratings for YEARS until STAR became a celebrity. Of course with that type of celebrity you're going to have detractors and for good reasons. You also need to keep in mind that The View benefited heavily from the Star Jones wedding. Before Rosie arrived those episodes were the highest rated in View history and she also consistantly kept those ratings up. When Bawa fired her for personal reasons she wanted Star to lie and she simply chose her own way out. I don't think there was anything negative about it, but it's something she knew would piss Barbara off. Since then Barbara has been seething with anger and the way she handled the interview was absolutely terrible and so unprofessional.
  8. Austin Powers for Vampires. Sad because this had potential to be like a new Twilight franchise. The stories on DS each lend themselves well to their own movie. Such a shame. Would've been in better hands with a new team instead of Burton/Depp who have such a specific point of view.
  9. Canning DC was pure laziness, but was done at a time when the series was riding high. I think that was a short-sided move. The first season ratings were comparable to Beverly Hills in season one and that show was on a competitive night and never had a Real Housewives lead-in for it's opening episode. Considering the women remain friends, it would've been easy to relaunch without the Salahi's. If they had trouble finding a new HW, I'd throw in Stacie and Mary's friend Erika who ruffled a lot of feathers in her short time. I think it's a good idea to try and revamp Miami, if only because it wasn't given a proper change the first time around. Let's see how the show is cast, edited and produced by a company that handles Real Housewives series. I enjoyed what I saw.
  10. I really fell back in love with the I Look To You album, and besides that really poor X Factor UK version of Million Dollar Bill, most of her televised performances were good. Granted her voice is weathered, but if she wanted to and was in the right frame of mind she WAS still capable of a decent performance. Now the tour was obviously too grueling for her just coming back, but I think she tried and she left on top musically. Her last album was well produced, she had a fairly successful (financially) tour, the album also sold well and she has a big movie coming out. I'm glad she didn't leave us after Just Whitney or Being Bobby Brown or one of her other career downers. What I always loved about Whitney is that she never blamed anyone for her problems and was honest about them. She knew the fight was hard against drugs, but she fought as hard as she could. Even in the Oprah interview a couple years back. I was just re-watching her talk about how Michael's death affected her and it was chilling. She said she didn't want to end up that way, but it's such a struggle. People say "Oh she's a crackhead," but drug addiction IS hard to beat. You can't convince me she wasn't a woman who was trying. Whitney seemed like a woman who wanted to live, to fight. Her career will never be forgotten at least. Her personality was just so sparkling, at her highs and her lows. I love me some hood Whitney! Also, looking at my iPod (I have all her albums) I'm shocked that I hardly ever listen to any of her ballads. I'm all about the sass and her uptempos (she really did have a lot!) and her remixes. My most played Whitney album is I Look To You followed by My Love Is Your Love (the album that made me a fan).
  11. Khan, I don't believe you! I think the Nazi storyline on Falcon Crest was great. I didn't mind the story being wrapped up early, but overall it was a great umbrella story involving the entire cast and the first time Falcon Crest fulfilled their potential. I think season four as a whole is by far the best season. Seasons Four & Nine are the only ones I think were truly great and well thought out. The first three years were decent, but full of filler and at times dull and plot driven. After season four things just became ridiculous and plot driven.
  12. See, that's just silly and clearly playing for reality tv. For all the people who say The Real Housewives are scripted (which I don't believe), you can't deny this. I think Bravo has clever editing, but these people are clearly acting (poorly). Whatever issues Evelyn and Jennifer have aren't as dark or over the top as the actions from Evelyn. This is one of the reasons I preferred the LA Basketball Wives. We actually saw a bit of their lives and their reactions seemed genuine to what they were going through.
  13. I'm going to say she told the truth when she said she quit and wasn't fired, but she didn't reveal the real reason. I think the reason she quit is because she quickly figured out her storyline was going to be the skeleton in her closet about Jim and also the money problems she's been having. She quit before it could do too much damage to her reputation. I wasn't a big fan (just indifferent) so I'm not too bothered by her exit. Overall, I was very pleased with The OC premiere. I've fallen out of love in recent years with The Tamra Show, but it looked fairly watchable. A decent new housewife, although I do wish Jeana were still around. Vicki also seemed slightly more tolerable. Like early season Vicki. Annoying, but not vile. I'm glad Heather hasn't lost her New York style because the other women look so cheap and their outfits are so dated. I agree. They need to make changes or they're done. With Beverly Hills, he KNOWS how unpopular Taylor is and also how unpopular game night made Kyle. He should've taken that into account with his actions at the reunion. In the end of season poll, Brandi and Lisa were voted the two most popular, with Taylor in last place at 2% of the vote. Why so much sympathy for her? I think he let his personal feelings affect how he handled the reunion. He definitely seemed like he was taking sides. Brandi, Camille and Lisa (of course) came off very well. Only time will tell if they made the right move with the new housewives in New York (although axing Alex was a mistake), but at least they're trying. If we see it announced that Taylor is back on Beverly Hills, expect another dark and ridiculous season. I also expect it to tank.
  14. That looks typically vh1 stupid, moreso than usual. Very trashy and it seems forced. Especially the fued and fight with Evelyn and Jennifer. It's very onesided and Evelyn is making herself look very dumb.
  15. She usually does sing live, but Madonna sounds TERRIBLE live so I'm glad she didn't ruin the moment by sounding a hot mess.
  16. The most disappointing thing with Joan is she never knows when to stop. She looked so beautiful in season 13, then when she returned for the series finale she'd had some more plastic surgery and looked a mess.
  17. It's a shame that she's getting this huge showcase and it's for this lackluster single. I think the song is very cute and passable and radio will eat it up, but for Madonna it seems a bit forgettable. I wish it was something more like Hung Up, or even from Candy Shop you had Give It To Me which was fantastic.
  18. Yep, which is true. I can't wait to see Kyle and Adrienne clutching pearls at that when even THEY (especially Adrienne!!!) didn't believe Taylor's claims. Just because Russell killed himself doesn't mean he was the monster Taylor makes him out to be, it just means it's easier for her to pin it on him because he isn't there to defend himself. Now I do believe there probably was abuse, but I doubt it was one-sided or an open and shut case. I certainly don't think it's as bad as Taylor makes it out to be. Unfortunately for Russell, he didn't get to see the show and that the other women actually had POSITIVE things to say about him and didn't believe her claims. He didn't get a chance to clear his name which was so sad. I wouldn't have minded a true and honest conversation about their relationship, but all we get is spin.
  19. Yeah, Brandi already cemented her place on the series. Brandi and Dana were both (smartly) given a test run and it's clear who won out. Shame for Dana, because you *know* Bravo would've loved filming her lavish wedding in Paris, but she just didn't catch on with viewers or the fellow wives. Stick her on OC at best, those losers might be impressed with her. When Watch What Happens Live did the poll for Favorite RHOBH, Lisa came in first and Brandi came in second. Kyle was a strong third and Taylor/Kim tied for last place with 2% of the vote. What does that tell you? I feel like I'm setting myself up for disappointment, but I really cannot stomach another season of Taylor. She is truly a sick person, a phony, a money hungry grifter and not pleasant in any way. I don't want her dominating another season with all of her lies and manipulation. I wouldn't mind Kim sticking around, if only for the rumored addition of Kathy Hilton to the cast.
  20. For 20 episodes, 23 with the reunion, I never felt bored. New Jersey also had a long season 3, but it felt so repetitive and long. I thought ending on Pandora's wedding was a nice note. It was a central storyline and really a saving grace for them. Considering Russell's suicide and filming being stopped, I would've hated for them to end on the previous episode. I'm glad they decided to go ahead and film Pandora's wedding just so they don't have that dark cloud hanging over everything. I can't wait for the reunion which looks very dramatic. Team Lisa/Camille/Brandi all the way. I hope they don't go easy on Taylor.
  21. Wow! I know it's already been released, but the entire series is getting an official Complete Series collection! So now instead of individually buying the DVDs for 2000+, you can get the entire series for less than 450. That's pretty amazing to think a daytime soap is considered worthy enough to not only get a film, but a complete series set. Here's the link: http://www.welovesoaps.net/2012/01/dsdvd.html Now I just need them to release a trailer for the film. I think this is going to be a big year for soaps on DVD.
  22. With this episode it was promoted as a special episode so viewers were aware that it was airing. I guess a good comparison would be the movie made about the origins of Coronation Street. Same thing, except a soap in the US isn't going to have a tv movie commissioned so they have to use their own timeslot to air and promote something like that.
  23. I don't see what is so shocking about it. It was simply a special episode. The soaps have done that many times in recent years. A good example would be those Fan February episodes OLTL had, or the most recent Fraternity Row episode. I thought it made sense considering how many years GL was running and how many different special episodes they would've done at that point.
  24. LOL I loved that episode where Barb jumped through the window. I started watching ATWT in 2004 so thats the only Barbara I knew. When I started looking at classic episodes I was so confused when I'd see her as a fairly nice person. I hope they include that episode on a future DVD release.
  25. Why exactly did she decline a return in 1998? I never knew she was invited back.
