Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I'm not sure with Fernanda. Maybe she wasn't going to be a housewife, but provided them with interesting footage so they included her in promo campaigns, but maybe they felt there wasn't enough footage to justify putting her in the credits? Not sure. It seems if she was an original housewife that they cut they wouldn't have still included her in promo photos. And yes Jeana is back for a visit. Don't you remember the explosive catfight with Tamra in all the promos? That's coming! I believe there are two or three episodes left now for OC.

A New Day in Eden
It is weird how this has completely disappeared. You know I see them releasing such random things at times, including the short lived soap Yellow Rose, or even Playboy's Eden, but not this. Considering it does have a lot of well known people it could be a good cheap DVD release. Until then we have to rely on threads like this and the great info provided by us fans. I'm most curious about the production values for this show. I wonder if it had more of a daytime or primetime feel and how cheap it looked.

Knots Landing
Oh I loved that sexy slab of italian beef, Nick. In the final season Anne was married to Greg and thought she was pregnant, only to find out it was menapause. I thought it was a nice story and she was taken more seriously that season. The final season was fairly good, I just wish they had used Diana more, particularly in the Vanessa role instead of that dreadful British actress they cast. It would've been a throw back to the shows roots having Diana return and fall into her same old habits with the wrong men. Would've been something interesting for Mack and Karen as well. I know they gave them Meg to keep them young, but please. There was no story with them having Meg. Even if Laura was around it wouldn't have created story for her.

Knots Landing
Carl! No way should they have written off Val or Lilimae! I think losing Lilimae was a harder blow than Laura. Julie Harris elevated the cast and had such flawless chemistry with Ted and Joan. I hate that they didn't just reduce her episode order or bring her back at some point. Aunt Ginny was a terrible replacement. Even had she stayed, like Laura, you have to wonder what the Lechowick's would've done with her. Probably endless one dimensional comedy scenes. Karen suffered from Michele Lee's control of the character which unfortunately meshed perfectly with the Lechowick's uber politically correct attitude. Mack was introduced as a womanizer so why is it so hard for Michele Lee to accept that he might have an affair on Karen? The original triangle with Anne was flawlessly written and could've given them years of story had she not vetoed it. It was mature and gave her a great new rival. Instead you have the perfect couple fighting over things we could've give a damn about. And I don't think Anne recovered until the final season. I didn't like the silly comedy character she turned into. Especially the homeless plot. By that point the character lost all her appeal for me.

Knots Landing
Yes the entire 7th season which is odd since it was such a critical season for Knots. The only time the show was #1 for the week was when Val was reunited with those babies, so it was risky to put that story in someone elses hands. I wonder what Dunne would've done with another season. He's another writer that needs to be interviewed. My thoughts keep changing as I rewatch so there's no telling what I'll think, but the first few times I enjoyed the Jean Hackney story. I liked the actress who played her and how Ben became unraveled. I thought it was done in a way that didn't completely ruin Ben, who eventually had to be written off to pave way for Gary & Val's inevitable reunion. Maybe I would've held off more in light of how bad Val's stories got, but I didn't mind it too much. As I'm watching the 5th season, I do enjoy it and find it powerful, but there is also a disconnected feeling. The Chip story went on for too long and seemed to dominate the canvas for a while. It had nice moments, but I don't like how Diana now seems thrown to the side. With a story like that I want to see a payoff and huge resolution to Diana and Karen's relationship. It was such a major relationship throughout the series and goes out with a whimper. Laura is also a character that seems to have changed so much. She has no love interest for most of the season nor a private life outside of being Abby's henchwoman. I wish they had gone in a more devious direction, especially after she locked horns with Sumner. The evolution of her relationship with Abby is more interesting than Karen/Abby. Michele Lee has always been a unique actress which is clearly highlighted here. I didn't think anything could top the season 4 finale when she discovers Diana moved out, but her performances during her drug addiction put Faye Dunaway to shame. The facial expressions and body language is so over the top lol. I just *love* Michele Lee. She is fabulous. Greg Sumner was always a favorite of mine and I'm grateful he came as such a perfect time. It's hard to imagine Knots Landing without him once he arrives. I'm also wondering how I missed how deep his relationship with Abby was in the beginning. I didn't realize she and Gary had such a loose marriage.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Very cool. Jordana Brewster who played Nikki Munson, just had an interview in Brazil where she's promoting the new Fast and Furious movie. They asked her about her love of soap operas and she mentioned that she's doing Dallas. She said she already did a soap called "As the World Turns" and loves that kind of storytelling. I always find it interested when actors acknowledge their soap past. You never know what kind of response you'll get. I also liked that she acknowledged that Dallas is a soap and didn't pull some "drama" mess like some actors.

Knots Landing
The crazy spy story was when somebody got the bright idea to swap HWs for Dallas and Knots at the peak of each show. It didn't work for either show, but was worse for Knots because Peter Dunne never returned. I thought Paulsen did a decent job at Knots. At the very least it still felt like the same show, just with beefed up storylines for the men. Peter Dunne, as brilliant as he was at Knots was pretty bad on Dallas. He feminized the show far too much and didn't know how to write the male characters. I liked some of it and I did like Angelica Nero, but it didn't feel like Dallas. Felt more like Dynasty bizarrely enough.

Dawson's Creek: Discussion Thread
Not a bad idea to watch Roswell, but I recall it drifting from it's original promise as time went on. I don't remember watching much of it when it moved to UPN. Now as for Dawson's Creek, I watched the first two seasons and need to buy more. I never watched much of it originally, but I fell in love with it now. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jen and now follow Michelle Williams films. Such a brilliant actress and character. I also remember Andie and Jack and have always enjoyed Andie. I think it's a shame she didn't become a major player, probably due to Joey/Pacey hitting it off. I know many hate Dawson, but so far he doesn't bother me too much. I *love* Pacey, I love how adult and real the writing feels. I love the setting. Really fantastic show.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I thought Cat owned LuAnn and it was about time she got called out. She truly is one of the tackiest, pretentious women on earth. It's sick. She is so phony and I could tell her condesending attitude was driving Cat nuts on WWHL. When Cat said she was around 7 or 8 years older and LuAnn cringed and laughed that was just so rude. It didn't help that the game Andy created was so one-sided and allowed LuAnn to create this air that she *was* superior. Cat posted on Twitter that she had meetings all day with Bravo, yesterday. I wonder what is going to come of these meetings. There was also discussion about a month ago. I wonder if they are just pitching new shows for Cat or if there is a chance she'll be on RHONYC. They need a new Betheny and I think Cat could fill that void. Cindy just isn't cutting it. Plus, the two times Cat appeared on WWHL was with NYC housewives (Ramona, LuAnn). Throw in the fact that she's friends with Alex and works out of NYC and it could work. Honestly, I would dump Cindy AND Kelly. Kelly is just a mess and isn't presenting anything interesting anymore. Only reason to keep her is to hope for another breakdown.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
The first two, three seasons were real, but I was entertained because the women were interesting. Now I fine myself straining to find anything to keep my interest. Peggy is forgettable, Gretchen has always bored me and Tamra tries too hard. At this point I'd keep Vicki, Tamra (for crazy) and Alexis. Try to convince Jeana and/or Lauri to return and add a sixth housewife who will add diversity to this bunch. Like the old days.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Looks incredibly dull like always. I'm sure there will be some overly dramatic arguments, but that preview didn't show anything exciting really. Last season seemed to go on forever and I guess this will have a similar feeling. Not too crazy about the two newbies, although I do like that Melissa with push Theresa's buttons.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I do wonder how things would've turned out with a full 10-12 episode season and promoted the right way. It's a shame because they got backlash from NYC fans and then it was rushed and cut in half according to Cristy which didn't help. I think they had potential and the reunion showed that it's definitely worth another shot. Things set up nicely towards another season.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I always knew that live idea was a bad idea. I haven't watched yet, but from what I hear when it got juicy he had to go to commercial. I also think the regular reunion format is better because it gives you time to delve into issues and get juicy moments and the best possible hour. I bet they could've merited a two hour reunion that people would watch if done correctly. Plus if it was filmed in Miami Elsa could've appeared. Bad move on Bravo's part.

Knots Landing
I just completed season three. Season 2 didn't do too much for me, it never has. I think that the majority of the episodes are good, but when it went to self-contained episodes I found myself getting bored. Particularly the hitchhiker season premiere. What was the purpose of something like that? And it was a two-parter. But overall watchable and it set the tone for a great third season. *Loved* everything with Richard and Laura. I think John Pleshette is just the cutest and most lovable evil little man on earth. His relationships with Kenny and Karen are both so unique and his relationship with Laura is so powerful. In many ways it's dated, but not in a bad way. It's just another type of life and honestly, I'm sure there are still couples just like them. Constance McCashin was terrible in the beginning and could've easily become another Ginger. John Pleshette was just too strong an actor and she had to bring it and she did well with a beefed up role. Of course the Abby/Gary/Val triangle heated up in the nicest way possible. I'd love to see a soap do a triangle over a two season span without them having sex until the end of that second season. This just sizzled and they did it in a way that Abby didn't seem like the bad guy. She was doing something wrong and she was certainly deceptive, but Gary's actions were deplorable and he wanted Abby. He was terrible to Val before he started cheating with Abby so it was only a matter of time. And let's not forget Judy Trent (played to perfection by Jane Elliot). I'm glad they were able to repair Lilimae and Val's relationship, because she needed some support. The Fairgate's also fared well without Sid. I honestly didn't miss him at all and despite many hailing this a dark season, I didn't see that. I actually found the second half to be darker than the first. They didnt' spend too much time with heavy Sid greiving. Everybody went about their own lives with the impact coming up in various ways. I thought it was handled well, but in the long term I feel like they forgot about Sid. I wish Eric and Michael made more of a mention of him growing up. The biggest failure was Kenny and Ginger, but whats new? I wish they'd attempted a serious relationship between Joe and Ginger, which is the only thing that could save her character. Really, it seems like they didn't even use them to their full advantage as "talk-to's." It bothered me pairing up Kenny/Ginger with Laura/Richard in scenes because Laura and Richard were already low in the todem pole lol. I wanted Karen confiding in Ginger lol, or Val.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Not surprising, those airhead basketball wives are upset about their portrayal: http://www.realitytea.com/2011/03/29/preview-real-housewives-of-miami-finale-plus-cristy-rice-not-happy-with-show/ Larsa has been skipping promotional events, including Watch What Happens Live and Cristy complains they didn't show more of her life. On that front, her husband barred her kids from being shown and the boutique she mentions was shut down and is online only. I'm sure if there was footage to air they'd air it, but Cristy is such a dull airhead they had to work with what she gave them. Larsa is not surprising, but they worked with what she gave her. They did try to show a varied side of her, but it was mainly her interactions with the other girls where she showed her true colors. That is footage they *have* to air as it's key events involving the entire cast. Overall I've been pleased with the Miami season. I thought they did well considering it was originally concieved as something else which left them with less time, less footage and less time to promote the show initially. I thought the six episodes were enjoyable and I look forward to a second season with more Elsa. She was just a star and that season finale was classic. Larsa was so rude constantly demanding a reading, then being a bitch when she got it. I also think it was ironic that it's now been leaked that Larsa and Scottie ARE having money problems, so Elsa hit too close to home lol. She also proved the "emotionally immature" comment with her reaction. That isn't even an insult, as Alexia tried to explain. I'm looking forward to this reunion more than any simply because it's live. This could be a big success for them or a huge failure. I don't like that we don't have soundbites to promote, but I think they'll turn it out. I just hope Andy can keep it reigned in enough to cover everything. I hope they still film an additional 30 minutes to an hour for the website.

Flamingo Road
Esther Rolle is season two I believe. I just finished an episode where Field slaps Constance so hard she fell to the ground. He's such a nasty guy considering he's the one they try to build sympathy for. Constance doesn't work for me as the vixen/bitch because so far she hasn't done anything wrong. She has every right to be angry since her husband uses her, is openly and constantly cheating on her and has no respect for her or her family. He's a total bastard. Nobody forced him to marry her, he did that to further his political career. I hope he has a horrible downward spiral. I wish this show lasted long enough for Constance to break free.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I kinda figured that Radar article was false because they just announced Cat as a guest on Watch What Happens Live with the Countess. Why have her on WWHL for a third time (only once during DC), especially with a high profile NYC guest if the show is ending? When Bravo wants to end a show that usually make sure you'll forget about it. They aren't going to put Cat on air and risk her mentioning on live tv "How dare you cancel me!!" LOL. Would make classic tv, but Bravo is obviously more savvy than that. Besides with DC, its ratings (as Linda put it) truly weren't bad, They werre higher than BH for most of it's run, BH only sparked with the fueding towards the end. DC's failure was putting too much stock in the Salahi drama which was polarizing. I think a major reason DC was pushed back so much is because they wanted the Salahi's on season 2 and all the women refused to film with them. I'm sure there was a standoff where they tried to convince the women and now they also would have to add a couple new faces to mix things up. Honestly, I think since they won't be expanding for the time being, they need to focus on making DC work and Miami is also a series that is worth looking out for. I need to see a second season with a better cast that was meant to be a Housewives series from the beginning. It has the makings of something interesting. This short season is more like an extended pilot IMO. Retool it, give them more episodes and learn from the mistakes in season 1. More Elsa please.

Knots Landing
Wolfbridge was the perfect soap story because it didn't focus on the details of the business deals, but the interactions with the characters and how it affected them. It was a really well done arc that included everybody. I loved it.

Knots Landing
Knots Landing is truly the soap that made me the soap fan that I am today. One night I randomly turned on SOAPnet, really not knowing what soaps were. I did watch Y&R and B&B growing up, but I didn't know the term soap and just viewed them as entertaining shows (*loved* Sheila). By the time I discovered SOAPnet I was a little older (12 or 13 lol) and the episodes airing that night were the perfect ones to hook me. First it was Falcon Crest with the season 3 plane crash finale, then Knots with the season six finale where Val finds her babies. Both were just breathtaking and I was a Knots Nut ever since. I loved every era of the show for different reasons. My favorite characters were Paige, Greg, Diana and Richard. I watched the show maybe two or three times on SOAPnet, then stopped so I could enjoy the DVD releases. As a result I haven't seen the show in years. I watched the first two seasons as they were released on DVD, then the third season on torrent last year. I just purchased the full series and decided to start from the beginning. While the self contained format can be frustrating, I thought it worked well for Knots in those early years. It was such a simple, yet complex show and fit the "scenes from a marriage" theme. I thought the first season had some amazing character studies and laid the foundation for a great second season. I also think it was the best Karen was ever written. She was so sexy and her relationship with Sid wasn't as "sainted" as her relationship with Mack became. Being the younger woman allowed her more freedom so she wasn't the typical good two shoes. So far I've only rewatched the pilot, but from memory my favorites were Community Spirit (mainly for the JR/Karen scenes), Small Sacrifices where Karen considered an abortion, Constant Companion (one of Ginger's only chances to shine which was beautifully directed) and Let Me Count the Ways which was one of Karen's greatest episodes. I look forward to reliving seasons 4+ (especially the much later seasons) because it's just been so long. I remember seasons 4-6 were just so densely plotted and perfectly executed. Truly must see tv. Looking at some seasons of Dallas and Knots Landing it's just impossible to touch. I'd love to see a modern series create umbrella stories that involve the entire cast in an organic way and always seem to be leading to something (that makes sense). And they even had more episodes to deal with. I don't know why it is so difficult to do these days.

Primetime Soaps
I'd be interested. There was a trader who had Berrenger's, but he went offline years ago and nobody seemed to buy it. Such a shame because it does look like it had potential.

Flamingo Road
The first season is well written, but seems to be missing something. I do like that the self-contained episodes still further the main themes of the series. It doesn't seem so open and shut, but still something feels off. The best moment so far was in "The Election." The Field and family are being interviewed and the interviewer asked Constance where Skipper was and she said soliciting votes with a church group. Then you have the perfect shot of Skipper and everybody else at Lute Mae's whorehouse cracking up. The writing is very clever and it's a dark and naughty show full of grey characters. I wish it had another two seasons just to see what they would've come up with. I'm also curious if Constance will ever get to react to Lute Mae being her mother. I hope thats not a loose end. It's too juicy to pass up.

Primetime Soaps
That's very random. The Yellow Rose is one of the short-lived soaps you can find bootleg, but I never was interested in buying it. Right now i'm saving for Sons and Daughters, which looks like a Aussie sort of Falcon Crest. Looks like fun.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I'm so excited to see Elsa on Watch What Happens Live. Maybe she could be a guest judge on Fashion Show. Only problem is that she's so afraid of flying. She tweeted that we need to pray for her lol.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Honestly, the six episodes plus one reunion is similar to other Bravo shows that are non-Housewives. They also had to cut all the footage with the drag queen so I'm sure they weren't left with a ton of material.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Disappointing. I hope this doesn't become a trend. Live reunion April 5th. So no second or third part I'm sure. http://realhousewivesofgossip.blogspot.com/2011/03/miami-housewives-reunite-for-live.html
