Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Miami will probably replace New Jersey and then Beverly Hills will replace New York. It'll be interesting to see if they slot Vancouver in somewhere. I wonder if Slice has it in the contract that it can't air in the US until after the run is completed in Canada. I imaigne when it *does* air they'll just dump it as a marathon or something, which is such a waste. Weird they don't even mention it when it came out so good.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
She's saying Marlo will never be an official housewife and therefore hold a peach in the opening credits. I wouldn't mind them keeping Marlo. I loved her style, her charges and the drama she got into with the ladies. She was a hot mess. And I have to co-sign all the Christina love. She is HILARIOUS and so sweet for a gold digging type of character. She's not mean spirited and seems to get along well with girls, when treated right. I love how fun she is. I'm also in love with Reiko who has such a cute voice and is a fabulous character.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Nene and Kim aren't friends due to stubbornness. Nene shouldn't have attached Kim and should apologize for it. Had she done that, maybe they could've moved on. Plus it wasn't the first time Nene did that to Kim.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
We all know this is just Season 3: Part Two and we already were tired by the end of *that* season. This season will suck, guaranteed. Simon van Kempan posted he's friends with a NJ producer who kept telling him how difficult it was to film the new season while the current one was airing. That's obvious to anyone. They didn't have time to asess what was and wasn't working and what viewer feedback was like at the end of the season. Of course now we know viewers were burnt out and probably would've liked some variety. Instead we get the same exact storylines with drama already rehashed at LAST seasons reunion. The most annoying part is that we'll have to wait til next year for them to retool the show when it needed it now.

The Madonna Thread
I didn't know how I felt about this project at first, but it's a GREAT album. In the UK she'd have #1 hits with both Give Me All Your Lovin and Girls Gone Wild (ESPECIALLY Girls Gone Wild) and if she actually promoted it, Girls Gone Wild could do big things in the US as well. If Britney released that same song and video, or Gaga, it would be #1. I do think people seem to be hating on Madonna due to her age. It's weird because I don't really recall that with Hard Candy, but now it's such a huge issue for people. My favorite cuts are I Fucked Up, I Don't Give A, Turn Up the Radio and Love Spent, plus the singles. I think Girls Gone Wild is one of her all time best. What are some of your favorite Madonna singles and albums? Top 3 Albums: 1. American Life - this album really cemented me as a Madonna fan after growing up with her music. 2. Bedtime Stories - love how sexy and cohesive this album is, without trying too hard. 3. Like a Prayer - an obvious classic, although it was hard narrowing it down Album I don't care for: True Blue Top 10 Singles 1. Vogue 2. Don't Tell Me 3. Take A Bow 4. Give It To Me 5. Miles Away 6. Papa Don't Preach 7. Lucky Star 8. Like a Prayer 9. Human Nature 10. Express Yourself I would've included What it Feels Like For A Girl had she released the superior album version. I HATE that dreadful dub she released. What a waste of a brilliant song and a wonderful message.

I never knew Ruth Warrick returned to ATWT. That's pretty cool. Does anybody know the story details of Irna's return as HW? And with Barbara, did that actress ever appear on screen? I thought Colleen Zenk was the one and only Barbara Ryan.

The Kylie Minogue Thread
Light Years is a little cheesy, but such a FUN and well produced album. It holds up well. I love just about every track. Disco Down is an absolute gem of an album track and the title track is brilliant too. My favorite Kylie album is the underrated Let's Get To It. I think it's such a cute and fun album. Word Is Out is so fierce.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I thought Ronnie and Mary looked almost like twins. I had a difficult time telling them apart. I would've enjoyed them and their relationship more if they were sisters. Reiko was a breath of fresh air and I loved her cars, body and snark. Jody is annoying and reminds me of Jill Zarin. She's a phony and a total bitch. I do LOVE her home though. Would be my top choice if I could live in ANY housewife house. Christina was delightful and so pleasant. I didn't enjoy seeing Jody give her a hard time. It was so one-sided and even if Jody did think it was inappropriate for her to have a relaitonship with an older man, in her own words she kept saying Christina was a child. How can you blame that on a child then? Geez. I found this show to be a combination of NYC and DC. It's lighter and more pleasant than these series are these days. I already prefer it over OC and what's become of ATL and what is happening with BH. I want to experience their lives and have some drama, hell even MAJOR drama here and there, but overall the franchise is getting too dark and toxic. This was a nice reprieve from that. Considering how lackluster OC and ATL have been I think Bravo should've scooped this series up. It's very well produced, well cast and seems interesting enough to fit. Plus the money is there in spades it seems. If they're smart they need to get the US broadcast rights and treat it like their originals. The season preview (and premiere) set things up better than OC and it also looks better than New York this upcoming season. Speaking of New York, I cannot wait for that show. I do think dumping Alex was a mistake. I think she would've mixed well with the new ladies. I could see her and Heather getting along and probably Aviva as well. The problem with the three they kept is that they're so different and so disconnected. I felt like LuAnn could easily be written out. Sonia and Ramona seem to be the ones mixing with the new wives, and even then they seem more like the supporting players. I hope Aviva just takes over this show like it seems.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I read on another site that the story isn't true about Sheree being fired in New York. She was fired weeks ago, due to lack of storyline and high demands. It's not surprising at all. If Kim's spin-off is a success, I could see her preferring to do that since she doesn't hang out with many of the HWs as it is. I finally saw all the new pics and video of RHONY and it looks mildly interesting. I still say it was a HUGE mistake firing Alex. Watching the previews it looks like the originals take a back seat and they don't seem to mesh well. LuAnn particularly looks out of place and with no friends or allies. Alex would've kept the focus more on the original group, I think. She also would've blended in well with the new ladies, at least look and style-wise.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I was reading on Twitter that the Watch What Happens Live: All Stars special aired an exclusive preview of RHONY. Did anybody see it? The reviews on Twitter don't seem good. Sounds underwhelming and lots of comments that the new wives look strange (and similar)...

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Roger, I wanted to comment on the cover for the Holden/Lily set. It's BEAUTIFUL!! I mentioned being displeased with the Carjack cover and this new one has one simple change that makes all the difference--the full size Holden/Lily pic, along with the smaller pic. I think the other DVDs are served better that way as well. I didn't like that the Carjack DVD had tiny pictures and CARJACK written across it. I feel like in the supermarket people wouldn't notice it. But well done there! Minor point I know, but I was pleased lol.

It's such a shame that wedding couldn't be included because it was very beautiful from the pictures and clips I've seen! I wouldn't have minded an episode with Heather Rattray. She seemed like a good fit in the role. I wouldn't have been completely crushed if Noelle Beck was on it either, but I wouldn't have watched that episode most likely lol. So far I'm loving the Carjack collection, although I'm only 3 episodes in. I have mixed feelings about the Reva set, but that's for the GL thread.

Melrose Place
I LOVED Season Five and Season Six was over the top and the cast was too large, but I found it enjoyable. I was very disappointed in the last season. I didn't like some of the casting choices. Lisa Rinna was a great shot in the arm and should've remained. Rena Sofer was unwatchable and Kelly Rutherford felt redundant. That entire season was just very bland and boring. I'm mostly disappointed that we were robbed of a proper reboot. 90210 is probably one of the worst shows I've ever seen, but at least it's lasted for a quite a bit. Same can't be said for Melrose, a premise I think that could've worked in the right hands at a different time. I also think it would actually work on a network like ABC or FOX right now.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Nene has now booked a pilot for NBC. Considering Glee and now this, she REALLY needs to leave the show behind. Her acting career is officially taking off. It's not worth it. For next season ATL needs to do a massive revamp. I'd say make cuts and add at least 3 new wives. It needs a new direction with it's big star leaving and so many having little story. I'd keep Phaedra, Kim & Kandi and dump the rest. *Maybe* you can keep Cynthia if you can't find three solid wives. Either way, they need a new direction. I also want Beverly Hills to get a revamp, but not a huge one. I'd settle for replacing Camille with Brandi and dumping Taylor and adding one new wife. I don't think they need anything more than that. Of course by the time New Jersey ends you know the next season will probably have an entirely new cast. No way can that continue the way it's going.

The Madonna Thread
I was pleasantly surprised by that video. I loved the return of dancing Madonna. This would've been a more Madonna lead single, but overall this album is pretty blah. Such a shame she won't be promoting it though. Seems like such a waste.

I'm so curious to see Patriciai Morrow on this show. I *loved* Norman and Rita and I was so happy in the later years when they took center stage a bit more. She's one of the main reasons I'd like to see this show.

What does everybody think of The Real Housewives of Dallas? It's still early, but if the rumored cast is even somewhat true, they have some heavy hitters.

Basketball Wives on VH1
I'm loving Kesha so far. She seems smart, actually has a business and she knows how to handle herself. It's a shame seeing Tami is obviously so envious and hating on her. I don't know what thats about. I hope things work out for her in the end.

The packaging isn't a big issue, just something that bothers me a little. I think there needs to be a better overall look for ATWT. Once you come up with it, then it's easier to duplicate for future releases.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Roger, in addition to the Lisa story at the Willows, I also hear that Dan Stewart died in Sept 1979, so that might be something worth looking at for a future release. I think a good way to handle things like the older episodes that might not sell as well, is to put them on sets with newer stuff. I think they fit well in a standard Best Of set, so you have a little something for everyone. I also purchased the CarJack DVD already. Thankfully they were one of my favorite couples, so this is a very exciting release for me. Also a very smart choice. So far I've purchased every set and I hope to be able to continue doing that in the future. My only complaint is that I feel the ATWT packaging looks cheap. The GL set looked sleek and modern, but the ATWT stuff seems very thrown together. I did see a picture for the Netherlands release of ATWT and it looked SO much better.

Knots Landing
I think for the past three or four seasons Lonow has had a show either on tv or she's booked pilots. She worked on one ABC show this season as well. Not sure which one though.

Whitney Houston dead at 48!
There's no way Bobbi Kristina is ready for an interview. No way in hell. On the music front, I've been listening more to Just Whitney and it makes me sad thinking how successful that album could've been. Her last two albums were both pretty amazing follow ups to My Love Is Your Love (which transformed her sound), but the single choices were just abysmal. Her team should be ashamed of themselves. I think Whitney's legacy could've been so much more had those albums been handled better.

Adele Thread
I thought her first album was better, but I do love both her albums and find her to be a great song-writer. My problem with Adele (not really her fault though) is that if she were black, singing the exact same soul music, nobody would be listening to her. Especially in the UK. Blue-eyed soul is so "in" again, but when you have equally talented black women making the same music, it goes unnoticed. Especially if you look like an Estelle or Fantasia. Hell, even Corinne Bailey Rae struggled with her second album and it was flawless.

Basketball Wives on VH1
Yeah. Honestly, even with it's faults, the LA season was much better than this. And they didn't have all the ridiculous fist fights either. The one they *did* have actually made sense.
