Yes, I did, but what's so wrong with taking people at their word?

Honestly, you guys make fun of me but I'd hate to be so incredibly cynical!

Seesh.

Just...WOW.

And yes, I should add, I believe Paris, on the caveat that she cares whether she would be lampooned if she broke her promise. For now, I'm taking her at her sincere word, because I've seen people who put on a 'show' in public and people think they are that person, but in private, they're someone completely different. They're not biploar or have multiple personalities; they're just social chameleons. I'm one of those people, so I guess it should make sense why I support her. I can identify with going to the bars and being rowdy and acting a fool, you might say, but really being a 'shy' person. It's a facade, a defense mechanism. I don't know what you would call it. But you can't judge people by appearances and assume that's who they are and what they're all about.

That's why I'm buying Paris' story.

I'm living it; so why shouldn't I believe her?

I can see why this popped up all of a sudden. She hasn't been getting the attention she wants and like most attention whores they will say just about anything to get themselves in the spotlight. She is nothing but trash. Not to mention she is saying this as that crap she calls a musical album is coming out. Give her that clean image so more can buy!

I seriously don't think she has to wait until marriage to prove something to some so called "fans" I don't necessarily believe what she is saying in her interview, probably just a ploy to cover up the real image that was starting to get out IMO.

LOL! You said it better than I could, took the words right outta my mouth :D;)

Um, no, wisenheimer, I meant I can relate with being 'shy' at heart but putting it all out-there in public, so to speak, and having people think you're just a party animal. Everyone has the 'real' them and the person they show to people in different circumstances. It's interpersonal communication 101.

They're back together and in love, but does that mean they're doing the Horizontal Macarena?

Did anyone read her quote in Us magaziner, some bull [!@#$%^&*] about how ever decade has an iconic blonde like Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana and that SHE is the iconic blonde of the moment.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! I literally CHOKED in laughter when I read that simply because I can think of HUNDREDS of more talented and WAY better looking blondes than [!@#$%^&*] Paris "No Talent" Hilton.

And also a HUGE  to her single "Stars are Blind"

Mitch, I agree she's full of herself for saying it. But um, I agree she's the iconic blond for today. I mean, her sex tape was HUGE, and then The Simple Life was HUGE, and even though that's out of its glory days, she is HUGE and one of the most photographed/gossiped about people. Whether or not she's a celeb, she has attention paid to her. EVERYONE cares about her. Hell, no one would even be discussing her right now if they didn't. You can claim not to care for someone but if you talk about them, that right there shows enough passion to suggest the opposite.I agree that Paris Hilton is defining a large part of the celebrity circuit. And like Madonna before her, everybody wants a piece of her, even if it's just to make fun of her sluttiness/skanky behavior. It's almost a foregone conclusion that Paris is 'It' right now.

She did the deed with the guy on the sex tape (name escapes me). So that's guy #1.

She's also been tied to Nick Carter, Paris Latsis (whom she was ENGAGED to) and Stavros Niarchos.

I belive she slept with all three of these guys...

Oh, silly me for misinterpreting  But I think I get it now. I have a suggestion : You and Paris should co-author a self-help book on how all the introverted, shy people in the world can come out their shells and experience more of life like their party animal extroverted friends. Because most "shy at heart" people haven't quite mastered that one. You guys will make a mint :D

P.S. You can title the book "Interpersonal Communication 101".

Wow, she is full of [!@#$%^&*], she really is. The farthest thing from my mind would be an iconic blonde. How dare she compare herself to Princess Di and Marilyn. She didn't earn anything she has gotten. She is a spoiled brat that gives trash a new meaning. You can still have money and be trash. What does she have to offer the world? Nothing at all unless you like porn and pointless reality shows. Would you want your daughter idolizing a mess like Paris?

Using that rationale, Jenna Jamieson is the iconic blonde of the decade, not Paris Hilton.

There is NO QUESTION Paris is a celebrity. The problem is, she has become an example of all that's wrong with American culture, celebrity and the media today. I blame the media for indulging this BS as much as the heiress herself. At the end of the day, Paris Hilton is probably just an insecure little girl who craves attention to make herself feel better. Her sister, who is ten times better looking, has managed to keep a low profile and lead a relatively normal life. I'm sure she's had just as many opportunities/offers to make money as her sister (at least at first).

Perhaps we define iconic figures differently (not to be confused with 'icon' remember), but to represent a particular period, I don't believe you really have to contribute anything to society. People are talking about her more than perhaps any other person. I still agree that she can claim the title. We can agree that she doesn't deserve it but I have to stress my belief that she still would receive it.
