Days: Actor Leaving!!

I certainly agree with what you said. I have never thought Deidre is worth the amount of money she gets. Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso are also going to be given a month off, so Dee's fans aren't the only ones that are going to be doing without their favorite stars.

I certainly believe Drake will take the paycut, and certainly Ms. Hall should as well if she cares anything about the shows survival.

The reason Jason Cook is leaving is not because of the money, but because of projects he wants to see through. He had the "out" clause and wants to use it.

I think this J&M thing is being blown out of proportion. Dee has been off alot over the last few years. She was completely MIA many times for weeks at a time in 2004 and 2005 and Days has not given Draker and her a story that puts them on every day since the SSK murders. During the island, Drake was on alot but Dee wasn't and same goes during the castle story. I do think there is more to this because both mags are saying this is cost cutting and Dee and Drake were chosen because there story was over and all the other vets still had story in play. These last few years show that maybe there is something we don't know about their cotracts-especially Dee since she has had a few mini breaks and then the large break from like November 2004-March 2005 where she worked like 11 days or something. I am mad and a little worried about it but really we have seen this happen before only it was never announced and made this big a deal. I think Dee's contract being up and the changes at Days are adding fuel to the fire. Days planned to do this under Higley but they changed their minds and then they gave Dee and Drake a one month break in summer 2003 and brought Drake back when Abe died and Dee back a week before Jack died. Dee and Drake and some others have had long breaks before so it is not a big deal other then because of the contracts and the upcoming changes. Plus, Days came out and told us ahead rather then back burnering them and not seeing them and having people write in and complain until finally the mags addressed it and Days addressed it in the mags (like Days did when Dee was MIA in the last few years and commented when fans were writing letters).

Dee and Drake aren't going anywhere. Corday knows they are popular and that Dee is the face of Days and mosy likely NBC daytime. Even alot of non-soap fans know her and she helps to sell the show and promote it. I would be stunned if they went anywhere unless it was of their own choosing.

Jason was not the best actor, but when he was away from Farah, he was okay. Sad thing is, he liked working with Farah. Why? The girl is like the Tara Reid of soaps, and from what I hear, she has a bad attitude off screen.

I won't be sad to see him go though. But the show has to recast. He is the son of two core, veteran characters, and without him, the Claire story won't have any closure.

I can't see NBC hiring Chad Brannon (who would ROCK), or giving the role to another established young soap star. NBC loves to hire newcomers with no real soap experience in major parts (despite them landing James Scott for EJ) so if they don't bring back Colin for Shawn, they'll probably hire another male model, or cast from the big pile of ex-reality show hasbeens.

As for Dee and Drake, I don't think they're going anywhere. I think they will re-sign, and by the end of the year, they might get another big story---unless Hogan will not focus on them.

From my understanding, Jason and Farah and Martha along with Kirsten have a great off screen raport. Ya'll did see his film about the girls didn't you. That sort of thing is what he hopes to do and get a series under contract. My imagination can think of a lot of ways this could go, but it's wild speculation and so it's staying under wraps unless part starts unfolding.

If Sheffer is staying close to the current storylines on Days, I hope he quickly ends the pregnancy story for Belle and Mimi. These girls need to be finishing college and thinking about careers, not bottles and diapers. I hate what JER did with them. Hogan could send them back to college off-screen and in a few months bring them back with degrees and jobs that could fit in with stories. Too bad Belle has a child when she is still one herself, but that can be worked with.

This is so not true, but I guess a certain Shelle website would say this about Farah. Yes, Jason likes to work with Farah and does not cater to the political party lines that want Shelle.

The actress with the bad attitude is Kirsten Storms.

I wasn't aware that Jason did a film. Or could you be talking about Little Divas that Farah and Kirsten are hoping will get picked up?

I don't think Cook is that bad at all. I agree that he's really good with Reckell, Alfonso and other vets. I also like his chemistry with Martha and Farah. I can't believe it's almost been 7 years since he came.....he's the last original teen from the teen invasion in 1999.

Well technically, Farah wasn't an original. But she was the first Mimi to be part of a story instead of just a sounding board to Belle (which was the original Mimi).

Don't exactly remember when she first aired though.

Farah Fath's first episode aired on September 16, 1999. She's actually been with the show longer than Jason Cook, who didn't appear until October 1999. However, Fath didn't get a contract until April 2000.

Mimi was originally played by Doren Fein, who was only in 3 episodes before Fath took over the role.

    • There is suffering everywhere you look, says mother of emaciated baby girl trapped in Gaza https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/czrv5rl73zdo Quoting excerpts from BBC article: The baby's mother Najwa, 23, is changing Siwar's nappy. She weighs just over 2kg (4lb 6oz). A baby girl of five months should be around or over 6kg. "There was no food when I gave birth to her," says Najwa. "If I wanted to feed myself so I could breastfeed her, I had no nutrients to make my health better... She now only drinks formula milk, and we don't know how we'll be able to provide it for her." Israel has banned international journalists from entering Gaza to report independently. According to Siwar's doctor, Ziad al-Majaida, "Nothing enters through the borders, no milk, food or anything. This leads to big problems here for the kids. This baby needs a specific type of milk. It was available before, but because of the border closure, the stocks have run out for a while now." Since the beginning of the year, according to the UN, about 10,000 cases of acute malnutrition among children have been identified. Food prices have rocketed by as much as 1,400%. Charity kitchens, which have helped hundreds of thousands of Gazans, are shutting as food supplies run out. Twenty-five bakeries supported by the World Food Programme have been forced to close. Israel cut off all humanitarian aid and other supplies from entering Gaza on 2 March, and resumed its military offensive two weeks later The United Nations has said the Israeli blockade constitutes "a cruel collective punishment" on civilians. The UN's humanitarian director, former British diplomat Tom Fletcher, said that international law was unequivocal. "As the occupying power, Israel must allow humanitarian support in... Aid, and the civilian lives it saves, should never be a bargaining chip," he warned. From the BBC reporter: I put this point to Boaz Bismuth, a leading member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party. He (Bismuth) denies there is an aid crisis caused by the blockade. "There is food in Gaza... Israel wouldn't do such a restriction if the population didn't have food. I mean, I know my country perfectly well," he (Bismuth) said. BBC reporter: I put it to Bismuth that he was denying the evidence of people's eyes, that children were starving. "There are not starving children. I repeat again." He (Bismuth) said that there had been allegations months ago of famine, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza "which was crap". ----  ----  ---- A UK-based advocacy group for Israel claims war may reduce obesity in Gaza https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/may/10/uk-lawyers-for-israel-condemned-over-claim-war-may-reduce-obesity-in-gaza
    • Joel Crothers would have been perfect as Owen (maybe because Margo wasn't too far off Denise). A shame he couldn't have played a dual role. Eliot did have more room to grow. I wonder if whatever allegedly happened with Denny Albee played a part in both their exits.

    • I remember Evie's last scene and it was in Justin Marler's house and she is telling them that Ben is asking for a reconciliation and she is going to join him. I always have wondered what Janet Grey did after leaving Guiding Light (I know from the interview with Kathleen Cullen that she did have a baby and they stayed in touch for awhile).
    • https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/may/11/trump-accept-luxury-plane-gift-qatar Donald Trump is reportedly ready to accept a luxury plane described to be a “palace in the sky” being offered to the US president as a gift from Qatar’s royal family, almost immediately igniting accusations of bribery and corruption as well as commensurate criticism. citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, ABC reported (link) that the Trump administration was preparing to accept a luxury Boeing 747-8, a jumbo jet from the Qatari royals that was estimated to be about $400m. Trump would then use the 13-year-old plane as the new Air Force One until shortly before the conclusion of his second Oval Office stint, at which point it would be transferred to his presidential library foundation no later than 1 January 2029. The luxury gift from Qatar is expected to be announced next week during Trump’s three-day tour of the Middle East that includes Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, ABC reported. Trump toured the opulent plane in February while it was parked at the West Palm Beach international airport, ABC added. According to ABC’s sources, Trump’s attorney general Pam Bondi and his top White House lawyer David Warrington have pre-emptively concluded that it is “legally permissible” for Trump to accept the luxury gift and then transfer it over to his presidential library.
    • Yeah I’m confused how wearing baggier clothing wouldn’t just make him even smaller. I have no problem with his fashion at all. He’s a well put together man.
    • The problem is that foyer doesn't look like it has ANY connection to that garbage glitter trash living room at Bill and Hayley's. I have to disagree strongly with both of you on Andre's wardrobe. I like it -- a lot. I don't think anything about it is dated, but that he looks like a guy who cares about fashion. Andre is a short king, but I don't want to see him lost in baggy clothes or chunky sweaters.
