It’s crazy as I really enjoyed Ted and Shanice and Ted was written as totally into her. But now we get sometimes eggs are just eggs when he and Nicole are talking about who they’re dating? Shanice herself being so insecure now is such a turn off considering what made so many of us love her in the first place.

They listened to us and gave Shanice a bigger role -- and then sanded down everything we loved about her.

The fun, shady gossip is pretty much gone, and we're left with a woman who feels less than and can't stop talking about how she compares to an ex.

I absolutely hate it.

I don't think they've changed Shanice that much myself. I do think the last few days are an odd pivot for Ted.

Be careful what you wish for.

I guess it could be interpreted that Shanice's 'tude hides a lot of insecurities and that she feels confident at work but not so much with personal stuff.

I agree 100% with that assessment. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I think Anita is a conflict killer (i.e. the Chelsea/Kat conflict over ChelsKat).

I agree. Same goes for Nicole and her therapy speak.

HAHAHAHAHAH!

And to think Lynette was just there with Hayley a minute earlier promising she'd leave town...!

Re: new opening
I wish they dropped this alphabetical order they're so OCD about as it strings completely different characters together, but anyway it seems it's brightened and more saturated. This is the new one:

This is the older version:

Oh no. I like it, and it's a fair credit, outside of the core four stars.

I can't watch live today... so does this mean Alex Alegria is no longer in the current credits, or will there be a C coming? I'm guessing there wouldn't be enough other characters to fit a full C list, so my guess is AA is eventually dropping to recurring...

Still odd they're keeping the couples separated - Naomi/Jacob; Smitty/Martin; Bill/Hayley...

original release date: Thursday, April 9, 2026 | writers: Michael Montgomery, Judy Tate | director: Anthony Pascarelli

Thoughts:

  • Samantha needs to accept that June does not want to attend the cotillion. It is her choice. And she has made it.

  • Is Dana really standing in the middle of the police department, bitching about Darlene right now? It is not your country club exclusively, Dana.

  • I appreciate Darlene apologising on behalf of Izaiah for him asking Naomi to reach out to Jacob. It shows she is aware of things more than I thought she was.

  • I like that we get some of Bradley's backstory of joining the Dupree family and his history of becoming acclimated, via a bake in the backyard. I would have skipped that dinner, though.

  • You go, Eva! Speak your truth and call out Izaiah for his lack of support for you and your relationship.

  • This bodyguard idea is going to cause serious trouble for Bradley. I feel bad. This is not good. Not good at all.

  • The singular rose from Grayson is a very thoughtful gift. And good on him for shutting down Jacob. That is good for keeping Lia away, even if temporarily.

  • Darlene is not going to put up with Dana for any longer than she needs to, and unlike the Duprees, I have a feeling she will not be taking the high road in dealing with her, either.

  • Damn. Samantha. That was a bit harsh of you to talk to June like that. Way too harsh, actually.

  • Okay, that gift from Izaiah is actually very sweet and unique. I like that. A lot.

  • I should have known that Marcel knew who Lia was. I am sure he knows that she is the insider at the hospital, too. Messy, messy boots.

Notes:

  • Woo-hoo! A double dosage of Montgomery! That's so exciting!

  • The lighting on this soap continues to be top tier. The early morning sun in the Richardson-Smith home is gorgeous! It's gorgeous, and it feels so realistic!

  • Should have known that hiding the login password from the Richardson-Smith household would have made sense with Nicole hiding it, too. Smart but also very, very risky at the same time.

Well, I see JHC dropped some cotillion tea. As well as some other things.

Cautiously optimistic if only due to it

a set being built for it.

Lord have mercy Smitty. And on Nicole's computer at that. Messy messy messy

I hollered at Leslie in that police station. This lady hasn't met a boundary yet that she hasn't cross. Trisha is so much fun lol
