BTG: March 2026 Discussion Thread

I haven't posted about BTG for a few days but yesterday's episode really touched me. The way TT and CD played their scenes were so natural and real to me. They were definitely the highlight.

As for Dani & Bill they are 100% playing with fire but that connection they have obviously hasn't been severed, despite everything.

Smitty & Jacob playing Scooby Doo made me chuckle 😃 😀 😄

Overall, it was a strong episode IMO.

It seems the ONLY good episodes are the depressing ones surrounding Anita and her cancer, and that's a shame. Since nothing else is going on that has any substance, there is no counterbalance to the melancholy. Smitty and Jacob and the whole plasma story is ridic, Nicole and her middle school triangle is pathetic, and the invisible clinic is a huge letdown. Leslie has been turned into a crazy clown, and it is not the comic relief we need.

First thing I'd do is get rid of Tomas (have Hayley get rid of him for learning too much), and move Kat into Izaiah's orbit. Have Leslie drive him so crazy that he starts listening to Kat and they get closer. He helps investigate Leslie and has a new appreciation of his law-enforcement family. Fortunately, Kat and Izaiah don't have to play by the rules to get shiz done.

Meanwhile, Eva feels that Izaiah is distancing himself from her. She puts all her effort into the clinic to occupy her mind. She leans on Derek for support because Leslie is driving her crazy, too. One day, Eva sees Kat sharing a tender moment with Izaiah. Kat is overwhelmed by taking care of Anita and she breaks down and Izaiah hugs her. Eva misunderstands and feels like Kat finally got her revenge for Eva/Tomas. Impulsively, Eva seduces Derek to make herself feel better. She becomes pregnant.

Then, eff the plasma story for its own sake, but I would like to see either Smitty or Jacob get gravely injured (and live) and deal with the fallout between Naomi and Martin (who seem close). Maybe Ren follows Smitty to the cotillion and shoots him there, making it an event that means something. Of course, Naomi is pregnant and plans to have an abortion, and is shocked to see Eva at the clinic, without her brother-in-law, Izaiah.

Why can't we get someone fresh with fresh ideas?

Because, those who work in this genre are so scared of losing their jobs that they close ranks, making it impossible for newcomers even to get a toehold. Gone are the days when you could cold call Irna Phillips (or her secretary) and ask whether she's needing any new writers on GL or ATWT, or Bill Bell would ask if you'd like to write a sample script for his show (Y&R) after interviewing him for your senior thesis.

Hayley finds out from office gossip that Tomas knew Bill kissed Dani. Hayley uses this info to frame Dani for Tomas's murder. In reality, she killed him because he was questioning too much about her and Lynette. Dani and Andre break up. He believes that she did not kill Tomas, but the revelation of the kiss being in the papers and media is too much for him. (This may be because there is still another reason why Andre doesn't want his picture taken.)

Hayley realizes Lynette is a liability and asks Randy to arrange an accident. Randy has real feelings for Lynette and can't do that, so Hayley takes matters into her own hands and drugs Lynette with potassium, eventually finishing her off in the hospital, essentially framing Leslie, though her motive for killing Lynette is unknown. There is enough evidence that Leslie is arrested, for a murder she didn't even commit.

No disrespect, but that's subjective. I completely disagree with that statement.

Oh, yes, completely subjective. That why I said "it seems." I'm glad you're still enjoying the show. I still enjoy the characters (most of them), but I wish more was happening. I want a nice balance between last year's breakneck pace and this year's snail pace.

I agree. I do think there needs to be an injection of some sorts. Even though I'm going to watch every episode regardless, it would be nice to have some serious cliffhangers at times.

original release date: Tuesday, March 24, 2026 | writers: Natalie Minardi Slater, Danielle Paige | director: Michael V. Pomarico

Thoughts:

  • Rashad really is doing his best to look out for Max, but poor Grayson has absolute terror on his face. If he intends to participate in the events surrounding the plasma ring, he must maintain a composed demeanour.

  • Poor Anita. Her face reveals her fear of going to the hospital. I understand, but if she is in that much pain, then she needs to speak up and seek help to alleviate what she is feeling.

  • I know it is not easy for Vernon to put his foot down or for Anita to not go toe-to-toe with him, but going to the hospital is the absolute right decision.

  • I appreciate Grayson's efforts to protect Ashley, but I hope it does not have negative consequences for him.

  • I appreciate that Tomas is trying to support Katherine. I just hope she does not fück it up like she does everything else.

  • Dani's investment in Nicole's dating life with Carlton and Kial is something I truly admire. If only Nicole could merge what she likes in Carlton and what she likes in Kial into one singular individual. She would be all set.

  • Dr Monica promptly ensured Anita received the necessary care, which I appreciate. Dr. Monica focused on understanding the situation, including the extent of Anita's pain, so she could accurately diagnose what was happening.

  • A DNR order is intense, but it is also Anita's choice for herself. I appreciate how pulled back Shanice actually is with her right now.

  • Things are getting scary for the plasma ring, and I am worried for everyone who is directly (and indirectly) involved right now.

  • I love that Monica is trying to shift Anita's focus from cure to time and what it could mean for her future. I know it's tough to recognise, but at the end of the day, time is important.

Notes:

  • Slater and Paige! A kick-ass day! Love their work. There was a genuine flow and classic appeal to today's episode.

  • Tamara Tunie (Anita) better win a damn Daytime Emmy for her work in this storyline. It is realistic and will change lives for those who watch but may not know how to navigate things, especially if they lack the support system that Tunie's Anita does.

Tamara Tunie is amazing! There are no words. Why did I put on eye makeup today? My face is a mess.

My coworkers were asking whats wrong lol.

-- So Leslie can fund an entire free clinic, but Anita doesn't have a private nurse?

-- At least the hospital is empty as usual, allowing Anita to get a private room immediately and get A-1 treatment.

-- The blood plasma ring is working overtime. Must've been 2 whole liters of blood that Grayson handed over to Rashad.
