I'm only going to say this once since you think I get notified whenever you quote me: I've had you on ignore for some time; hence, I've yet to directly respond to you for the past year. I suggest you do the same so you're not bothered by mine as well. Again, I'm only saying this to save you time in the future. I figured my post saying "ignore them" made that pretty clear. Bye. 👍🏻

I'm not bothered by your posts at all. I rather enjoy them.

We disagree on elements of the soap. I don't know why that's a problem.

It's good to know others agree with me on different things... the actors, the characters, the sets, the stories, the pacing... But I enjoy hearing from others who take the opposite view. I see this as a discussion group, not as a fan club.

I do think we can all make our own minds up about who to ignore, but that's just me.

Have a good day.

(I put a period after that sentence and not an exclamation point because I'm not offering snark or sarcasm. Life's too short to be angry over a soap).

960px-Beyond_the_Gates_%282025_logo%29.s

original release date: Wednesday, March 18, 2026 | writers: Anthony Lucente, Cheryl L. Davis | director: Anthony Pascarelli

Thoughts:

  • Dana is insufferable. So because she has money does not mean she can be so snotty-nosed with people. Frank and his team are making a living doing work you need done. Be gracious.

  • Kial, if I were you, I would be running for the hills if Katherine were in front of me. It is incredibly insensitive to make remarks about a crazy ex. It's also incredibly tone-deaf to act so presumptuously that this was Kial's situation.

  • One inch? I guess when they say, "Size does matter," it actually does. Hilarious. I love that. An oversight that is helpful.

  • I am surprised Anita is allowing Bill, of all people, to see her in the state she is in. Perhaps she is softening to him and his presence in her life?

  • Ugh... my heart is breaking for Vanessa. You can tell how much Deanna's outburst is causing turmoil in her life. I would not wish such tragedy upon her at all, and I appreciate Nicole being so understanding and firm with her.

  • It concerns me how close to Joey Izaiah happens to be. I hope this does not backfire on him in the long run.

  • I appreciate that Nicole continues to maintain her ethics as a psychiatrist and does not cross them. It is very appreciated.

  • Uh-oh, Miss Dana... how are you going to charm the woman in charge? Not feeling that confident now? I guess not.

  • "Sit down, Bill," you can see how Anita's saying it in the tone she did kind of sent chills into Bill's spine. She still can assert herself in subtle tones. And you can sense how much Bill still loves and admires Anita.

  • Yes! Dana is getting what she is due! And yes, Ms Eva, tell your mawmuh not to call you but you will call her... maybe! YES! DO IT!

  • Kial is increasingly charming and I like the way he has navigated this hiccup with Nicole. It is refreshing.

  • Wow... Bill was incredibly open, honest, and vulnerable with Anita. And I hope it was enough to give Anita the strength to speak up for herself and have the spirit she needs to not allow the cancer to overtake her.

  • Good on Anita for calling Monica.

  • Whew-wee... Vernon is not messing around with Dana. He is dropping those anvils and calling the shots now. I love it.

Notes:

  • After one strong script as a scriptwriter in February, Lucente has made his first script debut as a breakdown and it is less than adequate. I only pray writer2 did not provide insight for him... because this is quite shite. He should stick to scriptwriting if these are the breakdowns we are going to be getting.

  • I have said it before and I will say it again: I appreciate that Tamara Tunie (Anita) is not afraid to appear less than perfectly groomed in this storyline. It is realistic and it is going to help so many viewers. She still holds herself to her character, and that is what makes her beautiful.

  • Timon Kyle Durrett (Bill) did outstanding work today. Such an emotive dynamic. I loved seeing this new side to him as an actor. Wow.

Did you actually watch that? This is a non sequitur.

I won't be commenting on this anymore...

On another topic I think the casting of Deanna is awesome.

I did! That was back before anyone knew Tyler Perry and he was just starting out. Outside of clips of Tika Sumpter and that one woman and the gay couple on THE HAVES AND HAVE-NOTS, I have actually avoided a lot of his stuff. But people do who think pieces online and I've seen some stuff over the years (especially when EMPIRE was airing) that I at least have a working idea of him to know why someone would make that comment. I just hope I haven't offended you in any way cuz you know I love hearing your opinion. But no worries I will not hush.

OR...go on to Little Dru...cuz so far (I'm behind right now) I've enjoyed everything Deanna. Totally worth the wait. And I want more!

I too thought we all came to the collective agreement that Bill's mansion looked like that because Hayley's taste was seriously lacking and tacky.

Too many things are taking place offscreen and it's giving downgraded stories.

Thank you! I finally watched last Wednesday and I do feel a way about the fact that Bill and Hayley finally went to St. Bart's OFF-SCREEN. This whole story to me felt like it would climax there...preferably as a location shoot of some sort. So seeing them just roll on in at the start of the episode made me feel a way. Since I also wanted Andre/Dani there for that, I am starting to feel that there have been some story beat changes rather than last year, where stories did vanish, but always cycled back around. It honestly feels like a story change.

And if it's downgraded story, I hope it's not because they are saving money for the Cotillion...which I am looking forward to mind, you. They did the same thing with the anniversary party last year. And that worked because they were still building other stories and knew how to maneuver. It is not feeling that way this year if that is the case.

-- I have no idea why Izaiah needs to visit Joey to talk about Eva. I guess we're supposed to be grateful a white guy was his savior growing up. He had a whole damn family, but Joey saved him. Jesus.

-- Izaiah said Eva knows him better than anyone ever has. Wow, that was fast.

-- Vanessa again uses that emotional voice with a hitch when talking to Nicole about Deanna. That's LB's crutch in every emotional scene, and it's tired. But hey, she talked out her problems and went right to the Golden Corral Casino to visit Mobster Joey, so it's all good!

-- Vanessa said Deanna doesn't want to come home. I hope that doesn't mean we won't see her for 3 months.

-- The shouse inspector was a good idea, but they should have given her more lines and discussed more details. So what's the timeline going forward?

-- Good to see Leslie take the L on the shouse and dealing with Vernon, at least for today. I also think Kat got the best of her.

-- Kial gives Nicole a key to his place. Have some self-respect, dude -- not while she's still also screwing another guy. Just seems too much, too soon for me.

-- Good scenes with Anita and Bill. With Anita calling for a DNR in the previews, I hope we're ready to turn the corner on this story.

We did.

Yeah, I saw your comment in passing earlier and wondered what did I miss? Cuz we raked that house over the coals for months. AND we had the Dani/Vanessa (or was it Pamela) scene where they pretty much confirmed it re: Hayley got a tacky designer thus her taste are tacky).

-- And since we're discussing Kat, I'll repeat that I'm still on her team.

She jumps the gun occasionally, but she's just about always right. Her entire damn family stupidly forgave Eva for what she did and has not been hard enough on nasty Leslie. Kat has had terrible parenting from Ted and Nicole.

Kat was also right in her argument with Chelsea. Did Chelsea run anything by her when she planned to move to Copenhagen? No. But Kat was wrong in wanting to move out on Chelsea and Madison, the sickenly sweet lovebirds.

Same.

I have to third, fourth, fifth or whatever the fact that we have definitely discussed the Hamilton home and there seemed to be a consensus that the tackiness of it all was a juxtaposition of Hayley's taste level to that of the more refined Duprees. It was meant to highlight the fact that Hayley doesn't have the class, sophistication, or refinement of the Duprees. I mean as another poster mentioned, just looking at Hayley's wardrobe says it all. However, y'all can keep squabbling about it if you want, because it is more drama than BTG gives us most days.

I agree. It just seemed unnecessary to have Bill and Hayley prance into their home in beach attire as if they would actually fly home in such clothes. You would think they took a trip down the shore and hopped in the car to drive home or something.

LMAO!!! But thank you.

And then that little laying on the floor? I was just...ugh. So St. Barts (or a location shoot) is just out of the question. I'm going to need them to be more creative when it comes to things they need to explain on-screen like that going forward.

Yeah, that whole sequence was a fail. Off-screen stuff rarely works, but this was worse than usual since they followed up by the worst "Let's pretend we're at the beach" scene possible.

Very. I have liked when the show references why a character is either not in the episode or even in town (like Kial or Carlton on a trip) but that was just so much a fail to me. And no amount of 'beach pretend' is going to make up for the wasted opportunity of St. Bart's...which they have been talking about forever on this show.

I was in no way offended. It is all good. TP's name being associated with this show skeeves me out😅

Yes, we need more Deanna. I call her her little Whitley because she looks so much like like Jasmine Guy to me.

I understand.

Yassss!!!! Someone online said she looked like she could be Whitley Gibert's daughter and I can totally see that, too.
