Hilarious to see Jason go all Lee Harvey Oswald, outdoors, with no gloves or mask, in this day and age, and then wuss out at the last moment. Kind of like a metaphor for the whole show.

They really should have hired a stronger actor for Cullum, my goodness. He's more cardboard than creepy.

The fact that you think something people have been doing literally forever is about Heated Rivalry is wild and I usually agree with most things you say.

It is, after all, a “mass psychosis event.”

Were we supposed to think Jason didn’t shoot Cullum because he couldn’t get a clean shot without nicking Brennan? Why not just kill Brennan too?

It is wild Jason would flub this, until I remembered he basically has not done much mob wetwork at all since coming back to town, at least as far as I can recall. He just works in that warehouse and embarks on adventures for friends and family. There's action in his life but he has become much more domesticated, and that is a striking realization.

The show could go with that angle and portray the Cassadines as creepily obsessed with their relatives like in the 90's where they were much more Gothic.

There is also the not quite forgotten Rocco angle where he assumed Dante/Lulu didn't love him because Britt stole Lulu's embryos. Charlotte may think Valentin is the only parent that truly wanted her, but she has never expressed that.

Unfortunately I believe Frank and Co. think it's sweet. They have a special bond. It weirds me out too, but anything about Charlotte creeps me out because of her conception origins.

Every time I think about how insulting and stupid it is to Lulu/Dante that their damn kid can’t comprehend this Britt woman literally violated their trust and stole a damn embryo to keep a man, I just get upset. I was a teenager once and I guarantee I was not a complete f.ucking moron to not understand something that simple. When I was last watching the show before my years long break, Britt never even thought about Rocco. Why the writers thought this insulting ass story of the Obrecht clan being Rocco’s other family was a good idea, boggles my mind. Even when I look in other parts of the net, I don’t see anyone supporting this so it’s literally just the writers getting high off on their own farts for this story.

Literally the other day when Jason was talking about killing Collum with Sonny I was like whoa, when was the last time we had one of these conversations that literally used to be so commonplace on this show. I was almost nostalgic for the Guza days very briefly.

Not even for that. Britt came to Port Charles as part of her terrorist parents' revenge scheme against the Scorpios. Faison and Obrecht were also in league with Helena re: the Spencers. Per their scheme, her objective was to a) carry Luke and Laura's grandchild to term and steal it and b) take Robin Scorpio's husband away from her. She was really never in love with Patrick or Nikolas, she never wanted a child, she was a pawn in a larger game and she knew it from the start. This aspect of it is often glossed over, because it was never about falling in love or having a child of her own. Britt only caught very weak feelings for any of the men involved after taking the embryo.

I still suspect Chris Van Etten seems like the guy who must think we're all into watching Rocco become part of wacky Clan Obrecht. The same delirious glee they seem to take in Britt/Brad still up to bitchy nonsense at their big age. The Rocco madness is so tone-deaf and it has turned off a huge swath of the audience. You'd think by now they'd have seen the feedback and stopped. I suspect those wheels are turning though.

Except for yesterday, I do feel like they have dialed some of the Rocco stuff back. The damage is already done though. Britt's return has flopped so hard it's almost comical and with Steve leaving it's all but dead. If KT didn't sound like an immature whiner all the time, I might almost feel sorry for her.

I was shocked that Jason decided to leave instead of completing his mission as well. There were other ways to avoid Jason shooting them that didn't involve him voluntarily giving up. I wonder if it was a personal jab at Burton for taking off mid story.

I’ve honestly learned with GH, they are going to do whatever they want audience feedback be damned.

The Britt/Rocco thing is a small part of my unified theory of why we’re not getting a Spencer recast anytime soon. It’s because a bunch of other characters are now filling the various niches that made that character complex.

  1. The hotheaded young heir with high cheekbones is now Michael (who plays more like a slightly aged Spencer than Chad Duell’s Michael IMO).

  2. The YA heartthrob with blood ties to Sonny is now Gio.

  3. Whereas Spencer accidentally softened Brit’s heart with quasi-maternal feelings, now Rocco is doing that.

3 is definitely the least significant of these, and I agree that giving Brit a case of the mommies should not be a priority at all. But it tracks!

I think they have not recast Spencer mostly because a) they are fearful of blowback from a recast of NAC, b) FV really, really, really doesn't want to have to write for Sprina (which would've also drawn even more focus from Joss) and c) Frank also has little to no interest in showcasing Laura's family.

I agree I don't think it's coming any time soon. Of course watch me be wrong and they recast him tomorrow.

I never actuslly got to see NAC as Spencer outside of going back to watch the episode where he went overboard with Esme. So I always think of Spencer as that annoying little brat RC was obsessed with. I’ve heard such good things about him with both Trina’s though and I have to Imagine he actually had a personality unlike Kai.

He sure did. I would sooner introduce an equally complex, scheming Black lead for Trina for now though and mix them up with Gio and Emma romantically, because I think Spencer is an overpowering character when he inevitably returns and I think they need to find a match for him before then. I haven't given a ton of thought to a return though it has to happen eventually. When it comes to that age range I am focused on the characters who are here (except Kai lol).

I know it’s wishful thinking but damn it’d be nice if Trina actually had a nice black lead that actually had some fire and layers. Kai’s best friend from the football team showed more personality and chemistry with Trina in his like two episodes than Kai has for over a year now.
