I finally gave up on DAYS after the John/Drake goodbye, but a part of me is tempted to watch these scenes for a good laugh as well. I don't know why Leo and his romance became the center of this show. Until DAYS amends its taping schedule, it's hard to get invested when so many bad stories are airing.

Do Patch and Kayla have a good story? I was binge-watching the GH Spencer/Cassadine war, and Stephen Nichols is such an incredible actor. It made me more interested in his work as Patch. I can see why he and Kayla were so popular. It tickles me that Patch and Kayla are complete opposites of Katherine/Stefan. I loved them as baddies but also understand why lightning didn't strike twice for them as a pairing.

Steve and Kayla have no story and have not for years

What the hell?

So, Peter's dead? Just like that?

I really hope that there's a twist coming up with Rolf and if it's going to be tied to whatever's going on at the lab. I don't know what it is, but something about all of those scenes today made me feel like there's going to be a twist. If there isn't, then Peter's return, after all these years, was just a pointless waste of time. And also, is a fireable offense. But I liked the way that Chad comforted Kristen over Peter's death. Once again, Stacy Haiduk did a good job. As played out as Kristen is, I appreciate that the writers have made the effort to try and humanize her, as opposed to keeping her as the heartless monster that she became under Ron. Hopefully, her talk with Rafe wasn't foreshadowing of her falling back into bad habits again. And I still think she should be written out though.

Speaking of characters who were heartless monsters under Ron, I liked Gabi's scenes today as well. Luckily, it seems like that flirtation that she's been having with Theo hasn't been dropped and I'm looking forward to seeing it all play out. Overall, I think her growing relationship with Philip while keeping the secret of telling Tony about the fraud, along with the flirtation with Theo have been a little low stakes but I do like the idea of it all. Hopefully, when the secret comes out, it has huge ripple effects across the canvas, especially because it looks like they haven't dropped the idea of Theo and Jada either.

I also enjoyed Philip and Belle's conversation and how they bonded over both losing their fathers. It was a nice talk that helped get a better insight of their characters and how they're feeling right now. And Days remembered that Belle and Chad matched on the dating app. Idk about them being paired though. I don't hate it, but I just don't know. When Belle/Chad were teased under Higley/Griffith (I think), were people fans of them?

But Alex and Stephanie were just boring again, even though they were being stalked today. I get that she's afraid of the stalker, but why is she fine with the fact that Alex is basically trying to control her life? She should have been upset and gone to talk about it with her parents. Or Xander or EJ. Or even Jeremy. Which could then cause a bigger problem between her and Alex. There's so much story opportunity for this couple, and yet the writers keep choosing not to take it. I don't get it.

I just have to ask cause this always bothers me. Isn’t the Brady Pub supposed to be an Irish Pub? Why do the producers always play stupid ass twangy country western sounds anytime there’s a scene there?

Yes, the Brady Pub is most definitely an Irish pub and the use of country western, especially the twangy crap they use, is bizarre and often ruins the tone of a scene.

It totally kills any and all serious scenes they ever have there. How are these people getting paid to do Soap Operas and watch this sh.it and they still do it every episode.

Days is not going to amend its taping schedule, so anyone hoping for that can stop watching. They will probably be a year ahead at some point in the coming months. It’s painful to think what’s ahead with these boring headwriters. I long for the ‘Days’ when the show was in Peacock’s Top 10. That doesn’t happen anymore. The show is so lifeless.

Based on the interview that Paula/Jeanne gave as part of the spoiler preview, it sounds like they decided to tread water a little bit while they waited for news about the renewal, which I think was the wrong decision. There's a lot happening onscreen right now but at the same time, it feels like nothing is really building up for any characters. It all just feels so low energy.

I had no idea that one could square dance or do the Texas Two Step to "Jingle Bells" 😂😂

That music needs to be dumped. Honestly, there shouldn't be any music in the Pub scenes at all until like the scene calls for it.

Just give us background noise like the extras are talking. Days actually uses a decent number of extras pretty regularly.

Yeah, I totally miss seeing DAYS in the top 10 on Peacock, too. The show has been awfully boring and nothing is really happening and the "stuff" that is supposedly happening is dumb.

I hope things really start to pick up soon because the past year, with a couple of exceptions, has not been good.

Ughhhhh.

Dimitri/Peter Porte deserves so much better than this nonsense. The character of Stefano's grandson, in general, deserves a better storyline than this, and better than having to be stuck with two of the most unlikable characters on the canvas, even though I was totally on Gwen's side today, and am glad that she got to rip him a new one again. It's just that the whole situation stinks, which in turn, makes the storyline bad. You can tell that he and Emily O'Brien clearly enjoy working together but that's still not enough. All because Ron Carlivati was too obsessed and too ignorant.

Dimitri did look really good in that robe though 😉😍

And yeah, Leo will never be the good guy in this storyline, regardless of how it's written.

I also felt bad for Xander today. Paul Telfer did a good job again as Xander absorbed the news of his and Sarah's divorce being final. And I enjoyed him and Brady going head to head. Hopefully, their argument continues on Monday.

And while I still think Bonnie writing a book is unnecessary, I guess we now know what Kate's agenda is by having the book passed over to Johnny and to Dimera, and I actually don't mind that. That could lead to a lot of story opportunities for him and everyone around him, and especially his relationship with Chanel. Btw, I still don't get why Chanel is so upset that her husband doesn't want her to get sick or die. That feels like the wrong conflict for them.
