Not to be judgmental, but with a few exceptions I don't remember B&B ever having a knockout younger cast. The best you can hope for is if they can read some lines and if their faces are not a dead sea of Botox and filler.

He doesn't really look like Brooke or TK Ridge to me, although if they ever want some sexy shots of him looking in a mirror or smoking, he can qualify.

For me, Bold always had the ability to cast very green actors (i.e., Reign Edwards) and turn them into quite well-done actors. But... that feels lost in recent years. L.A.-based soaps have always been more well-known for hiring the 'model turned actor' type, whereas the east coast soaps hired theatrically trained actors.
