The only compelling election story I remember on a soap is Frank Ryan on RH. Maybe fans back in the day loved Luke's mayoral run.

I think Chris projects good authority and some menace in the role, he's always been a versatile actor who can switch it up easily between being streetwise or folksy like Joey Buchanan or his cop character on Y&R vs. a more professional or erudite role. But he has no chemistry with LW and the Brennan role has never been anything interesting. He was always just a temp recast AFAIC. This was a matter of time. If he'd come on as, say, Lucky or Jason's handler in the WSB a year ago that might've been more lasting as a recurring player.

I'd be surprised if Kelly lasts a year.  There is nothing likeable about Britt and they are rooting her to disposable characters like her family, Sidwell, Professor Y&R, etc.  Jason can literally bond with his family and son or hang out with Liz until GH finds someone to pair him with.

I think this whole Obrecht clan mess will drag on longer than that, unfortunately. Frank also rarely says die on something or someone he's invested in til he's got no other choice, and he clearly adores Paevey, Gati, etc. (I think they're all bigger priorities for him than KT herself tbh, I suspect her only value to him now is via Jason) FV and Korte also would clearly rather gargle glass than give Jason and Elizabeth more scenes or Liz more airtime, connections or story period. They worked overtime to try to peel Lucky off of her, and as soon as JJ was gone she's back to Nurse Jessie status.

Point being, unless they land on a big name to bring on for Steve I think Kelly's got at least another year. Beyond that though I wouldn't bet on her chances. It's a matter of time. But it would not shock me either if they found someone earlier and let Britt be the first casualty, lol.

I am sure you are right.  I don't really know where you go with Nathan after this initial story without Maxie.  I doubt the show will waste Paevey on Alexa Havins.

I think they may play with them for a bit to kill time til/if Kirsten turns up, along with some sort of Dante/BLQ thing when something inevitably happens with Willow and Chase. Then they'll only grudgingly reunite Dante/Lulu just in time for FV to take one or both off-contract lol. It's an M.O. he's played out before with people or couples he doesn't care for. It's crazy Lulu/Dante aren't anywhere near reuniting.  I didn't realize Sam had been dead for a year until everyone brought it up, but I think Dante's had enough time to grieve.

I have always liked Spixie and I can't say I minded Nathan/Maxie.   I never considered him the one true love of Maxie's life though.  I would honestly stay away from most of the in depth Maxie feelings because who knows if or when Kirsten will be back.

Maxie was the only trace of a personality Nathan ever had! Which is why it's so nuts he's back.

They slow-walk almost every romance on the show to death as @DRW50 and others have noted, unless of course it's Joss. Which I only realized just now, lol. They really speedrun hers and not too many other people's! But I do think you can tell when the show cares vs. when it doesn't give a shít or want to showcase someone else, and I think they are actively disinterested in highlighting Lulu and Dante as A-characters. I think BLQ/Setton will always be FV's priority in that sphere, until the day she quits or asks for a raise. And even her 'story' is molasses.

What is BLQ's story?  Shaming Tracy?  Complaining about Gio?  She appears but hasn't done anything for months.  The Chase/Brook Lynn adoption plot was stalled or dropped and even the Chase/Willow stuff has been backburned.  

Honestly, Chase/BLQ annoy me to death.  They were all sad about being kicked out of the mansion, but Chase has his own apartment lol.  The move to the Q's was temporary to give stupid Violet a sense of family.

And this question isn't only for you, but for anyone.  Why did everyone assume Michael would get the house?   What has he done to deserve it?

I can see the Chase/Willow situation being on the table still, but Dante/BLQ?  There hasn't been a single moment where there even seemed to be any heat or lingering feelings.  The Gio reveal was months ago and the time to strike would have been then.

Joss's romances do go at lightning speed, but it doesn't make them any better.  Are Trina/Kai back together?  I can't even remember.

Well before I get to the conclusion of the fight for Monica's estate, I just have to say how much I loved that tea party. Lucy being Lucy. Jordan suspecting that Portia was with child. And of course, Veronica vs Tracy. And THAT last scene with Tracy. Just...OMG...JE is sooooo good. The layering. The nuances. How Jane shifted so flawlessly between her grief to the anger I love so well to vulnerability in the matter of seconds. I had to rewatch it was so good. And I just thought...THAT'S Tracy!!! It was...if only for a second...the slanted writing fell away...and the real character came out. I also loved how ES finally started to reveal Ronnie's edge...which I felt she was doing subtly since the character appeared. It was such a masterclass.

 

That said...so far...I have been liking this leg of the story. I don't like how it seem like everyone would believe Tracy would do that. Not that she wouldn't of course cuz it's Tracy. However, Tracy has definitely grown over just the last few years and grown closer to her family. You would think they would give her the benefit of the doubt. And over a stranger, too? Just seem meh. 

 

And speaking of Qs...I did get to see Lois's exit. I believe that is the final exit? If so...my feelings are mixed. I know I have been in the minority on this, but I felt that Lois's return for the most part...was a good return. That the writers took the potential of her return after being away for decades and just fumbled it. The accent storyline...when they should have just focused on Lois vs Lucy. The Gio storyline...which given how Lois was about Nina keeping a secret from Sonny, she would never keep this big one. Why not give Lois an intriguing backstory while she's been away (secretly dating Jax? Heck a secret fling with Martin and Lucy finding out?) all these years to impact the canvas. I have liked Rena Sofer (and those beautiful eyes and raven hair) since she was first Lois to her days at THE CHRONICLE to her sinister turn as Quinn on B&B before they wrote her into a corner so I'm sad they couldn't use her more. That said...I do like she was involved in the Monica's Death story. I loved she came to some understanding with Gio and she mended fences with BLQ. And I even like that she will be off working with Blaze and Miquel hehe. I would have never thought she would have returned and for that, I'm grateful.

 

I have to say while it is partly a case of wash, rinse, repeat, I am kinda liking Jordan/Curtis/Portia/Isaiah. I guess it's because the situation is different. I think everyone knows that I liked Jordan/Isaiah. So their history could come into play at any time. Curtis's morals...that he has to a fault...has always been an issue with him and his women so Portia...who has had to deal with it forever FINALLY exploding on him and reacting has led to good soapy hot mess. Some of it has been slanted writing, but Brook Kerr is so great to watch. And goodness knows her Portia can read. lol. Isaiah...gives obsessed, but I blame that on the writing since I feel the attraction to Portia has been abrupted. That said...him and Portia do have chemistry. I can't wait to see where it goes.

 

Saying all that, it's funny to see how Drew...who is still so central on screen...own story has turned into a C plot. I still think Willow shot him even with her being in jail. K McM has been playing Willow in such a way to me that I feel that Dark Willow is still in play. And that I love. May Willow never go completely back to dull. Right now, there has been so many possibilities for her. Using Drew to get her kids. The growing hero complex that Chase is having toward her that could lead to a breakup between Chase/BLQ, a breakup set in motion by their pregnancy issue. It reminds me of how interesting Sasha FINALLY got before she left the canvas. Which reminds me...they still need to reveal Willow was behind the hauntings, too...so Sasha can give her a slap. I do like that Alexis has been roped into the mess. I love Lawyer Alexis. Very shrewd thinking.

 

Not enough Gio/Emma for me. But I do like that a little young unit appears to be emerging with Charlotte, Rocco, and Danny. Especially Charlotte and Rocco. 

 

Nice cliffhanger with Laura vs Drew cuz...LAURA.

 

Oh, I almost forgot! Carly scheming??? YES, PLEASE. But Val is a BOO!!! lol. I have been curious to see how Carly would move now that she knows about Joss being an WSB agent and that Brennan knew. Of course that means his days are numbered. I thought she had actually forgiven him which I did not like. So to find out wig and all that she was scheming to take him out? I actually cheered. No offense to Chris...who has his own chemistry with LW...but it's time.

 

Speaking of me...uuuuuuuuughhhh at Jacinta. I will be glad when Frank gets over her as his Flavor of the Month.
