Yeeeah this Winterfest is sounding like an event. Monday and a bit of last week really does appear like it is setting Silk Press Sheila up for a fall. Tuesday roped in Bill, keeping Dani/Bill/Hayley around. Now all we just need something to go on with Martin/Smitty...which could be Samantha's antics...and all the A stories from the start have turns/twists/reveals coming.

Yes the Winterfest is going to bring all the mess. I cant wait to see what everyone will be wearing.

Leslie is about to get everything she wants and that's when its gonna come crashing down. They've ptetty much telegraphed it starting with her meeting with Hayley at the country club.

If we needed a reason to dislike Ashley more... I think the idea is we're supposed to sympathise with this complicated. messy gal.

But guess what...it's not working.

Please Ashley-stay away from Andre. Take a job out of town to sort yourself out. Derek could decide to head back home and Jan just disappear.

That leaves space for some new more interesting characters.

I was impressed with Sean Freeman also. Although a few times he mentioned what a tribute it would be to his father to set up a grant/scholarship. Umm, mom needs a shout out also. He went on about how they were a team.

The only way to salvage Ted is to have him pretending to befriend Leslie as a way to stop her being a nuisance and give her a false sense of security, before he pulls the rug out from under her.

Maybe he's digging into her past to get some dirt.... to ne exposed at Winterfest!!

No way is that house ever going to be seen.

Oh no, put me on the not impressed by Freeman's scting list. There were very short glimmers of hope, but making ugly faces does not a good actor make.

I actually thought Nurse Nightingale aka Ashley did a better job when she was blasting Derek.

I agree. I can't wait to see what everyone wears as well. Outside of B&B, BTG definitely has Best Dressed.

I can't wait.

Jan just disappear.

Not too much on Jan. lol. The actress is capable, more interesting than Ashley, and a Have-Not. I can barely tolerate not having her brunching with Mona for the tea.

Late to the game but it's refreshing to see Hayley be a calculating villain and not some dumb husband stealer questioning why no one likes her.

Bill deserves it, but it will be great to see Hayley get what's coming to her.

So Joey knows Izaiah? That didn't appear to be the case when Joey and Elon last spoke. Unless, Joey and Izaiah had past communications and Elon knew nothing of it. Hmmm....

Not to defend Derek, but Ashley shares some of the blame for this whole situation.

Ashley is the definition of mixed signals and low key deceit.

- She flip flops on whether she wants to be with Derek on a daily basis.  When he dares to question her and/or ask her to set a wedding date.. she reacts in an abusive and dismissive way instead of being honest

- She only agreed to go back with Derek because he was unable to walk and because she got the wrong idea when she saw Andre and Dani together.  Had she waited to talk to Andre instead of throwing a tantrum, she wouldn't be in the situation she is in.

- And while on the surface, Derek's explanation for surprising Ashley could be viewed as sweet... it also could be taken as being deceitful and lying to Ashley.  She certainly would know all about lying considering she's lying to herself and to Derek.

- I wish that more light could be shed on why Jan is so pro-Derek and why she holds him to a high standard of perfection (that even he says he doesn't deserve).   I figure that it has to do with her past association with whomever is Ashley's dad.. but I would like to see more of her viewpoint/perspective when she's brunching with either SPS or Mona.

Question quickly answered. Joey and Izaiah had past communications unbeknownst to Elon. Also, the scene shifts from Joey/Vanessa to Ashley after Vanessa mentions Joey's "parental instinct." Foreshadowing?

  • Oo-wee, Andre wants the cookie from Dani... but is that truly all they have at their core? Is sex all they have to rely upon? That does not a relationship make.
  • Madame Vanessa is already working her staff; poor Diego is so confused!
  • Ashley is absolutely right: what Derek did, he did out of manipulation. And that is not fair to Ashley. At all.
  • Vanessa cöckblocking Diego from wanting another round in the closet is hilarious; she is taking her position as Fairmont Crest's Madam serious, and I love her business mind.
  • Good on Naomi for laying down the law on both Derek and Jacob for keeping this truth from Ashley and her. Shame on those men.
  • So, Izaiah and Joey know each other. How interesting. They have some major backstory.
  • No, Ashley, if anything you are not being harsh enough. Jan has her own wet spot for Derek, so ignore what she has to say.
  • So, Joey had/has a soft spot for Izaiah? That seems like a new character trait if I do say so myself.
  • Vanessa, I think you are in love with the idea of Joey... but I do not know if it is truly Joey you love.
  • You think so, Andre? You think? Boy. Do not beat around the damn bush. Get your girl (Ashley) and be with the woman you are in love with!

Notes:

  • An improvement for Zimmerman in comparison to her last breakdown. And, as per usual, Brown is excellent with the script work!
  • David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) needs to stop frickin' bobbleheading! And the hair pulled in front of his eyes does not help the cause, either. Motion sickness galore.
  • I sense a character change in Jon Lindstrom's Joey from Robert Guza Jnr to Tracey Thomson.
  • Jen Jacob (Ashley) did some outstanding work today in her collection of scenes. Loved seeing the vulnerability she gave us. Love it.

The way I shouted when Andre turned Ashley down !!!!!

Serves her ass right. Now hopefully this is her villian origin story lol.

Izaiah knowing and bringing out the softer side of Joey definitely wasn't on my bingo card. Great surprise show.

Andre rightfully chose his wife. Too bad, though, that Dani still has Bill on the brain in ways that she shouldn't if she's going to make an honest go of it with her new husband.
