The show seems scared to pair Tracy with anyone.  They teased her with Gregory, a little bit with Cody, and Martin.  I don't mind Tracy without a love interest, but it's odd the show drops them as quickly as they start.

This team has a very schizophrenic relationship with Tracy. They have sometimes honored her well and certainly have done much better with her recently since Mulcahey gave her some grace and then dipped. But they still will do too many scenes of the whole family/community acting appalled at mean old Tracy. Those scenes are lazy and seem designed not just to do an easy bit of cheap drama but (and this may again be my tinfoil brain) to push once more the idea the ever-shocked BLQ, Friend of Frank, is the moral center of the family and its central midrange heroine, as she largely is to the show itself at this point, since Lulu is a B-player despite being a major core character and having a daytime superstar now in the role, grumble grumble.

But back to Tracy! They need to stop doing these tired 'oh Granny Tracy' scenes. Even if Tracy is vindicated on Ronnie, too few apologize to her in these situations. And I think that's part of why they have yet to pair her with anyone. They kind of seem to treat her as not worthy of it at her age, or not worthy of it because she's mean old Tracy. I would not be shocked if they relent on Cody soon enough though.

He is a stunt cast day player that outlived his usefulness.  GH is full of those characters.

Jacinda, coming up next! She's white, blonde and can probably get paid in expired SNAP benefits for a contract so Frank says she's a leading lady! No need to actually invest in time and money major new characters for Michael or anyone else. Curtis, Portia, Jordan and Isaiah will be swapping partners again 2028 as well so as to avoid auditioning more Black folks. Which is also the only reason Curtis and Jordan are still on the show.

Yeah, I can't really argue with any of this.  Most (if not all) of her family doesn't take her seriously.  Tracy can be mean and bitter, but she's no fool.  You could see Ronnie was a scammer from a mile away.  I know I am supposed to believe BLQ is a wonderful, kind person, but she's coming off as a naive idiot.

I could understand if the Jacinda actress had some real charisma or potential and knocked it out of the park in the Drew story.   I am not discounting the fact you can find real talent in minor, brief roles, but there is literally nothing special about her.

And, yes, Curtis, Portia, Jordan will be swapping partners until 2028.  I could see the show dumping Isiah before that though.

I actually don’t hate Martin being in town as another lawyer. This might be the only soap right now airing with 5-6 lawyers and I love it. Port Charles is the largest town of any the soaps population and set wise of any of the soaps. It actually makes sense that all the lawyers exist and represent others for me and makes me happy 😂

It also has the most criminals

Michael Knight has always been a flop on GH. I don't know what they were going for, and they probably didn't know either, but none of it has ever worked.

They should have just had him play his character from All My Children. Same for Eva La Rue.

Maria might have worked?

They'll just bring in another fourth spare part and keep rotating them. Frank seems to hate investing in a lot of new characters period, but he really hates creating original Black characters. The islanded, incestuous Ashfords are all we get. I would free Portia and Trina any way I could and cast Curtis and Jordan (and likely Isaiah at this point) into the abyss, but that won't happen short of a miracle. They've also once again hurled Portia under the bus.

Even if it is the largest cast in daytime 20% of your cast shouldn't be lawyers.  There are almost more lawyers than hospital workers.

Which is ridiculous for a show called General HOSPITAL.

ADA Sonny bot and ADA Molly are redundant.  Alexis, Diane, Ric, and Martin end up splitting cases and while that's realistic, there isn't enough story to go around.  Plus, it entirely pushed Scott off the canvas.  Believe me I am no Kin or Scott fan, but he is an important character and could do the same thing Martin is doing with actual history behind it

This has been my gripe for years. And when the hospital seems to gain some traction, it is either the wrong kind of traction, or it does not last more than 0.5 seconds. Has Willow worked a damn shift in the past six months? Or? Surely, her arrest should result in her losing her [non-existent] job, and we should be seeing those scenes.

I don't know who is on contract or not exactly, but we have

  1. Liz
  2. Portia
  3. Willow
  4. Britt
  5. Isaiah
  6. Felicia
  7. Lucas

You have other fringe characters like Stella, the random day player nurses, and Terry also there.  I don't think I forgot anyone.

Lawyers

  1. ADA bot Turner
  2. Molly
  3. Alexis
  4. Diane
  5. Ric
  6. Martin

And when you add in the police/WSB side of things it's more like Law & Order than Grey's Anatomy lol

Willow was "working" up until her arrest pretty regularly.  They showed her on shift. I use working in quotes because she was mostly distracted by her personal life or talking to Drew though.

I have never been clear as to what Martin brings to the show.  Scotty could basically fill the exact same role and interact with the exact same characters.  It's not like the familial bond between Martin and Laura is super important or strong.

I thought Kin was having health issues and that’s why Scotty vanished.

I believe you are correct.  He was having ankle/foot issues, but they showed him in a scooter? saying Scott was injured and I think Kin went on (another) rant because he was let go and not given a real exit.

I don’t even remember him being on a scooter. One day they just mentioned no one could get in touch with Scott and I believe Ric took over the case he was working on.

Of those, Lucas is the only character that is recurring. As for the lawyers, the only contract players are Molly and Alexis. The rest are recurring.

And on that list, Portia, Britt, and Willow are the only ones in actual stories. Isaiah is adjacent to Portia. And none of them are in stories involving the actual hospital.

I know this is a simple thing, but when the characters would gather at the nurses station for their messages, to pick up charts, talk about whatever big story was happening, etc, it felt like they worked at the hospital more than it does now. Portia does most of her work in her office, Willow lurking (when’s she’s there), and Britt fighting with people. I think this is the worst the hospital has ever been represented. Even in other down periods, you still had Bobbie as a front burner character and she was shown at the hospital. Even earlier in Valentini’s run they at least knew to keep the hospital in play. If they treated Liz this way, it would be better!
