Dani is just a hoot and Nicole needs to loosen up.

I always live for Dani/Nicole scenes, but Dani really has been fabulous. And I really love how much they are both being there for Vanessa. So much as if they all grew up together. Pamela who?

KATHERINE! You disappointing pick me azz bish! We were all rooting for you! OMG I am so pissed off at the writing right now

Like you’re turned on by a man banging your sister the previous day? Gtfoh.

-- Yeah, "emotionally abusive and controlling" is not how I'd describe Martin. He's had bad moments, but overall, he's neither of those -- while Smitty has his own negative attributes.

-- While it's good to hear soap couples talk about therapy, do Martin and Smitty really need it? It's not as if they disagree on their problems and obstacles, and this conversation today was evidence they can work things out on their own.

-- Why are all these conversations at the police department around Jacob's desk? Ridiculous.

-- Jacob's questions for Drake were worthless, followed by him telling Drake not to leave town. Huh? For what? Why would this guy need to listen to orders like that?

-- No, Donnell, Drake did not "steal" your father's watch.

-- Speaking of ridiculous, watching Vanessa and Donnell view that 20-second clip from the Golden Corral Casino over and over was hilarious.

-- Alex Cheeks is doing a MUCH better job at conveying grief than Lauren Bugoli, whose main move is to have her voice break. I know we all like her, but she's been AWFUL in these mourning scenes. I don't believe Vanessa is in any kind of emotional pain.

-- If I'm going to criticize other actors on this show (as I have with those playing Tomas, Derek, and Ashley), I'm not letting LB off the hook.

-- But it is a Vanessa move to go to Uptown with her Mob Boss boyfriend on the day her husband was buried. Typical trash. Once a slut, always a slut.

-- I hope Donnell reads her for filth tomorrow after accusing her of screwing Joey.

-- Even better? Let's write it that Doug isn't dead and that he comes back to haunt and torture his cheating whore of a wife and her pathetic gangster boyfriend.

-- Good acting? Those Dani/Nicole scenes. DD and KM make it all look easy.

Agreed on LB and it’s not just cause Vanessa’s a who’re. The grief just feels phony and like an actor trying to portray grief.

Good to know I'm not the only one who thinks LB is not good playing sad and emotional. It all comes off as phony.

LOL..Vanessa first started as Dani's friend before becoming Nicole's BFF and now they've settled on sharing her

They just fit. ;) But I feel through the dialogue all three were close (okay and Doug being Vanessa's high school sweetheart) growing so I like that. They really do treat her like a long-lost third sister anyway.

Watching the scenes between Dani & Miss Nicole, you'd think those two had been playing sisters for 7 years (instead of 7 months).

I don't want Donnell to stumble into any additional Gloomy News, but the evil part of me hopes he's about to find out Real Estate Barbie is WAY worse than he'd thought.  It's bad enough to lose your daddy, but then to find out right after the funeral your mother is the Dollar Store Gangster's whore, that'll be an awful lot for the kid to digest.

  • Your what, Bill? Your wife? Yes, Dani should still be your wife. Remember that, especially when the child bride continues to whine non-stop.
  • Joey, you are still trying to cover. And it will crack, eventually.
  • I can appreciate the sexual connection that Andre and Dani continue to share. It is healthy to have that kind of appetite, but they will not last together. At all.
  • Speaking of the child bride... Bill Hamilton, you are about to be whined at. Grab the pacifier.
  • I would be moved by Joey's story if he were not the puppetmaster in charge of how Donnell and Vanessa are feeling right now.
  • Okay, Deadbeat, you are paying attention... but this absolutely does not fix all the wrongs you have done.
  • Anita calls it like she sees it, and I appreciate that. She is intuitive, and that comes with age.
  • Are we making breakthroughs with Bradley and the deadbeat? Interesting.
  • Uh-oh. Bill. Why would you cite the child bride's one friend (who works for you) knowing she could easily call to confirm/deny your story?
  • The continued shade Dana's "shouse" and Ted get from the Dupree women is hilarious to me. And get it, Anita! Good to know there is heat in your marriage. FIVE?! Damn. Anita Williams was a wanted woman. Good on you, Anita! Get it!
  • One date night and Bradley is ready to welcome the deadbeat back home? Dang. That was easy.
  • Vanessa is going through the motions of her children growing up, drinking alcohol, etc. It is real.
  • Dani is enjoying her show of the child bride acting like a pestilent child. "Oh, she projects!" Ha. Hilarious.
  • Not Nicole semi-stomping on Bradley's made-up mind, but I absolutely understand why she is. It is caution where her son is concerned. And maybe, just maybe, it may help her with her own mind regarding Ted.

Notes:

  • The writer2 has clearly taken notice from the writer, and it is so off-putting. Three out of three horrible breakdowns. Hoping he is the next to G-O, GO! Bring in someone capable, please.
  • The continued sexual innuendos we get in the scripts are excellent. No other daytime soap is giving that to us. At all.
  • The continued use of modern technology (FaceTime/location pinging) is brilliant. And it is not some fake, in-universe platform. It is the iPhone. Smart.
  • The extra at Orphey Gene's tossing her hair and swirling her tea is working for the camera today; she knew it was on her, and she made sure to give it her all. Love that for her.
  • The continued, ongoing work between Lauren Buglioli (Vanessa) and Alex Cheeks (Donnell) is outstanding. Kudos to Kim Coleman for this casting of these two roles. Brilliant. Seamless. Outstanding.
  • The scripted callback to the "the past is prologue" line was brilliant. Absolutely outstandingly brilliant. And even better? Paige did not write the original line, so it shows that the scriptwriters are paying attention! Excellent.

WHO previously said, "Past is prologue", and what was the context?

I distinctly recall that line having been said a few weeks or months ago, but can't remember the context.  Was it Anita who said it earlier?

As stated in today's episode, Dani said it to Hayley.

That's exactly right!  Hayley was snarking that Dani is in Bill's past, and Dani retorted that sometimes past is prologue.  Thanks!  (I remembered the line when it was said, because I thought it was a wise observation, just couldn't remember who & why.)

I remember Jamey's last breakdown episode being pretty solid. I will reserve judgment on today. It couldn't be as painful as some of the first few weeks where Ron had Dani charming her way into the Hamilton house with the security guard (and not for the last time, sadly).

Martin to Smitty: "Our hair is a little grayer, and it's a little thinner."

What??? These guys are in their 30s, not their 50s and 60s.
