@AbcNbc247, (1) - When did chronological age ever inhibit a story on Days of Our Live? 😉

(2) Ivy left because Mike was in love with Robin, Jeremy's eventual mother.  So, he'd be 2-3 years older. 🤔

When Theo mentioned that he went to High School with Liam 😉

And I suggested having Mike gotten back with Ivy after he broke up with Carrie because that would make the timeline work. It would put Liam roughly around the same age as Theo.

I think of Theo as being in the Stephanie age range. So if Jeremy is coming in as a spoiler for her and Alex, then Liam would still be in their age group.

Meanwhile, if Mark gets pardoned, he’ll join the list of bachelors: EJ, JJ, Shawn, Jeremy, Liam, Theo, Brady, Philip, Xander, and Rafe. Salem is becoming a bit of a sausage fest. 🌭

Spoiler

One more prediction, not a spoiler, Cat's contract is up soon, thus I imagine Mark won't get paroled, and Cat and her siblings will move up to Vancouver to be closer to him.  Followed by Chad in the spring, but they'll break up off-screen, and nu-Chad will return.

Also, note to Kayla: if your daughter—who has a legendary poor history with men—says she’s nervous about moving in with her boyfriend, don’t gaslight her with romantic wishes. Wouldn’t it be nice if a mother told her daughter to trust her gut now and then, instead of just pushing for marriage and babies?

I know time is a flat circle in Salem, but Theo should be in the Johnny/Chanel age range, since they're obviously the same age as Allie, who is the same age as Claire and Ciara, who went to high school with Theo. (Whew!) So I think Theo is an age group down from Stephanie at this point.

As the wise man said, "Totes McOats" aka good point.  But, even in our reality, they're all young adults, and viable partners.

Chanel and Stephanie have hung out as peers.  (remember the bachelorette party when Chanel got drunk?). I like that they're filling in that age group.

Although,

  1. goodness knows where they'll all live.
  2. why doesn't Paulina ever hire anyone to work for her at PriceMart any longer?

That bothered me, too. I was also smh over the stupid Anastasia talk. Hiding that she's the author of a damn romance novel makes Stephanie seem so immature.

-- Someone clearly told Rachel Boyd to "Play Stephanie like she's a lunatic." Those bulging, popping eyes are hilarious.

-- Half of Johnny and Chanel's dialog was about baby-proofing their apartment. All they did was put rubber guards on a table 😂

-- Speaking of sets, the bookstore is really bad. I know this show has a limited budget, but it's screaming "broke." It gives no sense of a real bookstore, and the extras that spend an our looking at one book don't help.

I really like new Theo.  I think his casting is going to prove very successful for Days.  I am looking forward to seeing what Liam and new Jeremy bring to the show.  I assume Liam's dad is either Snake or Speed.  I guess his parent could possibly be Ivy.  I am a huge fan of Holly Gagnier so I would be happy to see her make a few appearances.

So, we finally made it to the blackout.

The buildup to it all was ok. I enjoyed some parts of it while other parts didn't interest me all that much. Xander and Sarah stood out to me the most. I enjoy their scenes together because they've always felt like a classic supercouple to me, even though I have mixed feelings about Days reviving the whole Xander beat up Philip thing to cause conflict for them. They should have moved past that already, and onto the next conflict. But I'm still interested in seeing what happens next. And, we learned that Xander is living in his and Sarah's old apartment again.

I also have mixed feelings about Sophia and her sudden vendetta against Johnny and Chanel though. If they were going to take her this far, I feel like they needed to establish it a lot better.

John leaving a sizable donation to the hospital in his will is classic John 😊

I understand Belle's objections though, and how it ties into everything that's happened between her and EJ. I hope that Belle ends up being a part of whatever EJ is planning, and maybe even tries to stop him. That would be a pretty good way to use her, and hopefully, could put Shawn back in her orbit as well.

And, it looks like we're getting a new set at the hospital too.

I've seen some speculation that Sophia's going through a post-partum psychosis which in itself would be an interesting way to justify her going completely off the rails. With that said, I suspect she's going to be shipped off to Bayview sooner or later.

I don't know.  I rarely understand Rachel Boyd's Sophia's choices, but I sort of get her anger and frustration over Johnny/Chanel.  They did ruin everything for Sophia and the baby only to decide they can adopt a "different" baby a few months later.  That would upset me too.

Plus, I'm starting to find the writing for Tony a little similar to the way that Paula Cwikly wrote him in 2002, long before it was revealed that it was really Andre all along

It could be this, but my speculation is that this will all tie into the whole Marlena / Susan experiencing Stefano and Tony's behavior is a red herring. I kind of assume that it'll be eventually revealed that Rachel is carrying on Stefano's "spirit" (not in an exorcist / sci-fi way, just generally being a real bad seed) and she did shoot EJ fully aware of what she was doing. That'll lead to her being sent off to "boarding school" until they're ready for the next set of teens.

But maybe that's just my wishful thinking. But at least the shows writing is giving me some hope that it's not all just random plot threads thrown together.

Also, on a somewhat related (and shallow) note - they need to make Holly go blonder again. It's probably annoying for the actress, but there's a bit too many dark haired / brunette girls among that set and it makes her stand out in the crowd.

Good suggestion!

That would definitely make it work and I wouldn’t mind it.

But I still feel like it came on too suddenly. Sophia should have had animosity towards Johnny and Chanel from the very beginning.

Yeah, they could've definitively thrown in two-three scenes (at least) pre- and post-birth to show that she's upset at them messing up the adoption. It's not like DAYS is such a tightly written show where it wouldn't be feasible (and for that matter, they're on streaming, so length of episodes are very much adjustable). With that said, it could be a product of the writers switch and setting up new storylines. Though it's been a while now for that to be an excuse.

I liked her blonde better too.  She obviously still gorgeous but this muddy brown color doesn't do her any favors.

I mean there are a lot of things that Sophia should have been given perspective about earlier.  Her wanting Tate back, the desperation to find a home for the baby, Chanel/Johnny pulling out of the adoption at the last minute, etc.  Even her relationship with her mom has been put on the backburner.  Where is helicopter mom Amy while this is all going on?  She's not more curious about the adoption?
