Probably.  Sofia Mattson is a beautiful woman but she's not a supermodel.  And then we double down on it all to make her Robert and Holly's child.. just to drop her.  It's hilarious because she was on the show for so long.

I hope Daisy enjoys those homecooked meals lol

It’s amazing, her leaving the show has had zero impact.

Her being on the show for 7 years had zero impact lol.  I guess Daisy is something you can bring back.

If you put it into perspective of like Lois was on the show for less than three years and Brenda's original run was about 6 years.  Think of what those characters did in that time and think about Sasha just hanging around for all those years.

Don't even get me started on that. And then I finally invested in her due to Dark Willow and she's...gone? GIRL, BYE.

Yeah, all she did was have a Q baby. Otherwise...not a thing.

Meanwhile Lois was on less than that...Brenda for the same amount of time...and they both still left us...and have us...wanting more.

I'd agree about Brenda (even if that last year seemed to leave her islanded), but I feel like Lois was kind of a spare part for well over a year before Rena left.

I think it has, although as always not as much as on a stronger written show. Michael losing a chance to raise his child was taken from him, all through the manipulations of the ex-wife who also did everything she could to keep from his other children. That should send the character to a very dark place.

In terms of Sasha herself, she didn't have central relationships, but I do think the show needs characters like her who have a lot of connections and years of history. I also thought she was a likeable character on a canvas with many characters I can't say that about.

With that said, they probably would have been better off writing her out when Mulcahey wanted to rather than just randomly making her Robert and Holly's daughter, awkwardly dancing around a Jason pairing on one wanted, then writing her out.

Brenda got really boxed in with the breakdown story and Jax taking her back.  Like obviously he would but 1998 for Brenda felt a little less chaotic if that makes sense.  A new lease on life, Robin as her roomate in her own cottage, her and Jax being cutely dull.

I don't think Lois was ever a spare part exactly.  She was almost in every story but more B character reacting.  I think the OG idea of Lois/Jax before Rena decided to leave had possibilities.  Of course, Vanessa would walk into the room and have fire chemistry with Ingo and it would all fall apart, but the idea was interesting.

And still might if/when he gets proof she did that.

The image of her walking in with a look and a slight hair toss you just gave me. ;)

It did make sense, especially as 1998 was a long goodbye for her. I tended to enjoy the moments more where she got to go out and spar with Carly (never really enjoyed it as much without Sarah in the part, but I know this is off topic, sorry).

We’ve seen a little more of a darker edge with Rory in the role already and I think we could get more.

I honestly didn’t have a problem with Sasha until she got pregnant and said she wanted no Quartermaine interference while choosing to pick another Quartermaine to pretend be her baby daddy and living in the Quartermaine house. When Michael returned she got even more ridiculous about it.

It is off topic, but I also wish we got to see more Sarah's Carly and Brenda spar.  I get why the narrative now is Carly/Brenda were long term rivals, but they honestly barely knew one another lol.  The most compelling Brenda material in 1998 was her plane crash with Jason.

Anyhow, as far as both Sasha and Willow go they were just characters that were there for 7 years with unmemorable stories.  Sasha got interesting right before she left and obviously Willow is like a brand new character.  Rory has revitalized Michael.   So basically while the show still has it serious flaws, it's done great work with formerly snoozy characters like Sasha, Michael, Willow, and Drew.

The Britt/Jason nonsense is DOA from the start though.  I am sorry, but Britt is a seriously unlikeable human being.  I didn't go in with an open mind because I dislike KT/Britt, but this story has done nothing to change my opinion.

I will continue to credit Mulcahey with a great deal of what has become of Drew and Willow; he planted a lot of seeds in his short time. I do appreciate that the returning writing team has leaned into it and gone further with the characters' metamorphosis, even as most nuance to the story or other potential for Drew has been lost. Meanwhile we're all just lucky Chad either got bored or got a girl pregnant, or both.

It's just unacceptable when you have very bland, boring or directionless characters like Chase, Sasha, Curtis, Jordan, previously Willow, Nina, etc. lingering on the show for the better part of a decade (or more) being totally unremarkable. They're here because FV doesn't want to get rid of the actors and most of the characters are/were very tired. We're very lucky they allowed Willow to change otherwise she'd have been the second one I cut after Sasha. And Watros keeps Nina afloat via sheer force of will onscreen, but with PM and the Drew/Nina option gone what's left to do with her? Nina was never a character who should've been around for over a decade, no matter who was playing her.

I'm grateful for what's changed or improved and I do think the show is much more compelling than several past years, but there's still so much more to do and plenty of bad stuff. And I just don't have faith in this team to upgrade it - I'm dying for new blood - but we've seen what happens when someone not prepared to execute Uncle Frank's creative vision is hired. So here we are for the foreseeable future.

Nina is a very disposable character.   I am not sure why she lingers around.  At least put her back with Sonny so I don't have to watch DA Lady.

Chase is a non-entity to me.  If you ask me to describe him I would say nice and handsome.  That's it lol.  There is just nothing interesting about him or even him and Brook Lynn.

Curtis/Jordan/Portia always replay the same story and triangle.  With Portia being the bad guy.  It's tired.

I still find the show highly watchable, but as @Vee said it's difficult to ignore the problems especially when you know it's Frank's vision only basically and nothing will change.

I basically agree with you, but I try to focus mostly on what I enjoy rather than what could be improved. Given the state of soaps in 2025, I'm not optimistic that "new blood" on either the writing or producing side would actually improve the show. In fact, I can think of many ways they could make it much worse. Given how much of the show's heart was gutted during the 11 years that JFP served as EP, I frankly think it's a miracle that GH is watchable at all these days.
