Doug is playing tiddlywinks but thinks he's playing chess. But he's just one poor choice after the other.

At first it seemed like Ted was going to lie. But I can't see how Nicole has any room to be angry or upset since she filed divorce papers, made it clear she would not change her mind, went out with another man and then let her family try to humiliate him with that betting game.

Go screw yourself was quite a surprising comment from upper crust Anita, but Leslie has pushed her buttons enough to throw class out the window. I thought Leslie was only to be antagonistic, but I guess she did actually want to hear something about her mother.

Yay! Finally watching live and...

...UH OH with Doug and Randy. So Bill really has never seen Randy, but Doug has known Bill since college. And given we already saw BIll see Randy...these scenes are basically saying that Doug might be aiming Bill right at Randy once he puts 2 and 2 together of him seeing Randy with Bill. Nicely done.

And I am here for the USHER shoutout. I hate to say it...but Andre is going to wind up winning me back over, ain't he? Cuz him and Dani are great today. Yaaas Dani at loving Usher.

Messy Vanessa. hehe. I guess she really don't like Bill.

Le sigh at Silk Press Sheila. Already obsessing over Ted again.

No offense, what exactly were you expecting of MVJ?   She's hardly had any experience head-writing.. and it doesn't seem like she has anyone to give her feedback and/or to help her structure and pace all the stories in an organized matter.

However, I also think the whole filming and writing schedule (4 months filmed ahead, 6 months written ahead) is what will prevent the soap from fixing what isn't working even if they hear from fans and/or seeing how the actors play the scenes, etc.

I looked at today's episode as a build up to another climax... and it looks as though maybe the climax will involve the Joey/Vanessa/Doug story while I'm curious to see if any focus will be on Derek's slow descent to the dark side.

BTG has a slew of first year issues, but I'm good with it over Y&R, B&B and DAYS lol. Don't see any reason to apologize for it.

TAKE OFF THE EARRINGS, ANITA!!!

Good Vanessa/Nicole scenes. Really liking Nicole having a POV. But I am bias.

Ahhhhhh not Joey speaking his truth. I'm sorry. I'm liking this. But I've always said the Doug/Vanessa/Joey storyline has been well developed and the best of the B storylines. They really should have been the main focus this week cuz this episode is working the way it should.

Is that source of Randy his way of saying the source is Hayley and he's about to use her to get info on Bill? The levels...

It's the most well-developed of most of the storylines tbh lol. More of the core characters should be woven in. I still credit Guza for how Vanessa has developed.

Agree. I've always said that I loved how it came together with all three in their own stories and converging on each other. And after today and yesterday, I really want to see where it will go. I feel even more invested now that the characters are talking about how they feel and hinting at their motivations. Especially today with Bill. They should weave him in more.

Yeah, you saying that about Guza...and I believe you...I do worry how things will go for Vanessa...okay all of them...without Guza's influence.

The Ted and Nicole scene got to me. I completely get why she walked away.

I loved the Andre/Dani scenes. I have to admit they are good together.

My poor Dougie. It's not looking so good.

Vanessa has been talking about that for a long time. As I mentioned the other day, she had some great scenes a few months ago with Nicole bitterly talking about being the lonely suburban wife at home who now felt empowered. She couched it as being about the affair, but this was at the same time she had just gone all in with Joey and his criminal dealings and told him she wanted a piece. It's the same arc we've seen Guza women do before.

    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?

    • Thanks for asking that!  Back when we had another major event upcoming (a party or the concert), I had intended to ask what everyone here was planning to wear.
