Yeah this June storyline is so full of issues. I know there is a father, but LOL at tiny a$$ June next to those bigger/taller "teens".

Hmm, so is Kat really asexual or is Tomas just bad in bed? Maybe Tomas just doesn't know what to do...

The June storyline reeks of 'Afterschool Special' and 'A very Special Episode' rolled into one.  It's unrealistic and the soap writers need to watch old episodes of soaps in their heyday in order to learn about pacing and scene set up.

I don't think Kat is asexual.... I think she jumped headfirst into sleeping with Tomas in order to keep him interested and away from her half sister Eva.   I like that the soap are playing the beats of this trio and wish that this mindset could be applied to the other plotlines.

In regards to MVJ, we all have to remember she spent years under Bell at B & B so she's sadly picked up his bad habits.  The Dani/Bill/Hayley triangle could have been good... but she seems to think Dani walks on water and that she's the best thing to ever happen to Bill when they're a toxic coupling.... and Hayley has potential.. but only if a proven head-writer were bought in and MVJ is removed as show runner.

I say this because most shows seem to do better when the creator isn't running the day to day story (I think they can't be objective).  Not everyone can be a Bill Bell.

Awww...Martin and Smitty making in-roads. And he does look more relaxed.

Not Naomi cleaning June up! Lol. But I do like this Naomi/June scene. Her story and Martin's Secret just remind me how this soap really touches on things from the black experience. And it resonates.

Mmmm Carlton.

GET HIM, ANITA!!! You got time today!!!

Did anyone else notice Martin mentioned that his new therapist is his mother??  His MOTHER?? Jeeze Louise!  That is both unethical and illegal activity on Nicole's part.  A mental health professional is not permitted to treat a relative, friend, colleague, neighbor, or anyone with whom the professional would have a dual-relationship. That is the law in EVERY state. Nicole would lose her license for this.  Lazy writing -- or maybe they just don't care.

Yassssssssssss!!! Anita and Vernon over here speaking for the audience with Ted!!!

Well, I wasn't expecting to see boxer briefs today, but okay. lol. That said, Kat is coming across a little too clingy in this scene. I'm not sued to that from her.

Ooooo if looks could kill, June would be ashes in Smitty's glaze.

Nicole got on my nerves today. It's one thing to move on, but moving on is not dating your husband's business partner. Wasn't here for Vernon and Anita's high horse act either, because they have no room to judge with all their mistakes.

I'm in the minority, but I don't mind the pacing of June's storyline the past couple of days. There were months of June being established with not a lot of movement so I'm glad this part of the story is being dragged out.

Kat doesn't really like Tomas enough to be in a relationship, but she's got to hold on to him to one up Eva at this point.

Barbara just may be Leslie's mother and that trust money will allow Leslie to buy a house in Fairmont Crest and be a noveau riche annoyance.

We already knew that Nicole is Martin's therapist, unofficially.  Nicole gave Martin a counseling/psych session in a prior episode, onscreen, in a living room.  Then Dani walked into the room excitedly talking about getting ready to attend Anita's concert, and it took Dani a while to read the room and realize she'd interrupted something.  Nicole said it wasn't a formal session -- but it kind of was.  I *wonder* if they're doing it somewhat "off the books" so that Nicole and Martin can freely discuss his incident from two years ago, without any formal record?

Edit to add: Nicole seems to be approaching this as being Martin's *mother* first, and listening to and helping him cope with the entire incident --- she feels that she wasn't given the opportunity to mother him two years ago when Martin needed her, because nobody told her the secret.  Now she's making up for lost time, by mothering him but using her professional psychology skills because those skills are a part of her.

I have enjoyed June's storyline moving from an okay C plot to a solid B plot over the last few months. For me, it's just the fact that there is really nothing going on major this week and that makes it stand out more. Especially to people who don't like the story. I just don't feel it's ready to be the only story with solo main attention on it.

Well, if it is "off the books", that makes it even more illegal because Nicole is purposefully trying to hide her unethical and illegal activity.  And Martin's statement today -- calling Nicole his therapist -- clearly indicates he believes she is his therapist.

When Nicole realized Martin could benefit from therapy, she should have immediately referred him to a professional in whom she has confidence.  That is simply how situations like this are handled in the mental health profession. No ifs, ands, or buts...

I truly don't believe the writers at BTG are this stupid.  Writing mental health therapy situations is very very common on soap operas.  Rather than stupid, I think they just don't care.

"Peaches" the lady who visited Leslie/Dana today, seems to have been a mother figure to her. Yet Peaches said that Leslie stole Peaches' man.  Leslie said something about the man treating Peaches badly so "I did you a favor".  I guess Peaches was Leslie's foster mother or adoptive mother? -- because Peaches says she's dying and will now tell Leslie who her real mother was.

Theories and speculations that I've read by posters here and elsewhere:

  • Barbara is Leslie's biological mother.
  • Barbara is related to Leslie's late husband Alan, and his share of the inheritance now goes to Leslie.
  • Barbara is related to Peaches.  Barbara's inheritance goes to Peaches, so when Peaches dies, Peaches wants it to go to Leslie.

Another question: Who is the man that Leslie stole from Peaches?  Was that Alan or someone else?

I'm liking this confrontation between June and her kids.

Kat!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not boring in the bedroom!!!

Of course, Tomas would run into Eva. RME. But nice...pants.

'You thought you could outrun me?' OOPS. So...who is this diva??? OMG!! THAT'S MAMA????

So are the writers about to have Leslie turn out to be Barbara's long lost daughter or something? That would be a hell of a twist if that ended up being the case. I mean, if Leslie's sticking around long term, they might as well give her some tie to the canvas. Otherwise, I don't see the point of this whole inheritance story and the sudden appearance of her adoptive mother.

I think partly due to the Duprees feeling entitled and just assuming they do things according to their own rules.   It is ironic though, because Nicole accused Anita and Vernon of acting like mobsters in their handling of the Kenny situation.  But now I guess Nicole feels she has to carry on the secrecy?
That being said, it's only my *speculation* that this is "off the books".  Nicole referred to it as an informal conversation.

It's also possible that during Martin's conversation with Smitty today, Martin referred to it in a way that *implied* it was formal therapy -- possibly because Martin knows that Smitty had been begging him to get therapy for months.

Or worse, they think the audience is that stupid.
