I mean, what's even the point of this character? She's just there. She could've been an interesting vixen type character, but she's just boring and dull.

I feel like we're severely lacking her point of view; I still can't figure out why exactly she felt like she had to fake a pregnancy. By all accounts they hadn't tried for children and failed, nor had Bill been making googly-eyes at Dani or anyone else. Usually when someone fakes a pregnancy there seems to be... a point? There just doesn't seem to be one for now, except to give her a secret that Ashley knows and to give Dani some points for clocking her faking it.

Even Naomi today, when learning from Ashley that the pregnancy is faked, is wondering why, because it makes no sense.

I didn't expect a new type of umbrella storyline, with Hayley caught up in a mob-adjacent mess.

Bill has all along been conspiring with Joey as we already knew.
Meanwhile the new piece is that Bill's wife Hayley is apparently conspiring with Randy.

Randy, magically out of nowhere planted in Hayley's orbit with all of her shenanigans. Please show, be courteous enough to give us details about Randy's sudden place in this plot, instead of expecting us to notice it and not question it.

I wonder if Bill will suspect Hayley.  Or even if he already knows?  He commented yesterday or the day before that Hayley isn't showing yet.  And there was a scene where he placed his hand on her very flat stomach -- she was dressed but he could feel her outline.   Hayley isn't Dani, and no two women experience pregnancy the same way, but still, he's been with Dani when she was pregnant, so I wonder if he's been suspicious of Hayley?

Thursday, August 7, Cheryl L. Davis scriptwriter, Phideaux Xavier director.   Kudos to Davis, Xavier, and the actors for an excellent episode.   Lots of nuance in the scenes, especially Doug/Vanessa and Elon/Jacob.  Nuance in the acting but also the writing showing various points of view and aspects to the storyline.  I never saw Elon's viewpoint before today.  Dani showing compassion for Bill, and, for a few minutes, overcoming her own instinct to judge Hayley.

This is probably the first mob-adjacent episode of any drama that I've ever enjoyed. Probably because this episode wasn't about glamorizing the mobsters or saying that mobsters have heart.  Instead it was about characters being real and human, reacting to chaos.

Is Randy related to Hayley or his wife who we haven't seen yet ?

I thought the Doug and Vanessa scenes were very good today as was the Elon and Jacob scene.

Ashley's role should be that of a supporting one and today proved it. Jen Jacob even seemed more natural as well.

Im really enjoying how this Hayley story is unfolding and the people its involving. From the very beginning Hayley has shown to be insecure especially around the Duprees. I'd love to see some flashbacks on how she was before her and Bill got together.

Jacob got steamrolled by his father. Elon is not about to lose all the money he's gotten on the take.

Hayley was like meh when she told Bill she lost their "baby". She certainly has gaslighted Dani into feeling some sort of blame. And Randy already has enough problems without getting caught up in Hayley's scheme.

The Articulettes. I like the beats and the lyrics, Tamara Tunie however can carry a note but she can't saaang. They could've added autotune to their performance.

Itt'sss time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I see we are playing the beat of Ashley knowing about Hayley.

I guess I like the angle of dealing with that as Hayley is doing her thing while Doug/Vanessa bring solid B plot mess.

RANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it's scenes like this between Jacob's Dad and Joey that make me think that Joey isn't going anywhere. And Woooow not Jacob walking in on his Dad.

Now...Doug...on the other hand...
