Speak on it, Jan!!! This is not hitting right for me, either...going back to what we discussed about the writing for Ashley. I don't see the girl from Episode 1 who worked so hard to become a nurse being all willing to leave after being in the job a few months. I will give the writers credit for Ashley still wanting to be involved in nursing. That said...she's coming across like Felicity about to follow Ben Covington across the United States. For a man. I can't.

Yeah, after today's scenes now and some other stuff, I'm starting to wonder if that speculation that Joey is Ashley's father might turn out to be true.

Perhaps it's a case of laptop vs app on phone.

 

I can say without question my laptop and the CBS player does not mix. And that player will say it's not there. Versus the app (and the only reason I have it because I loathe apps) where it plays just fine and smoothly.

At first I wondered if the planning was thrown off by the preemptions for soccer  --  but then remembered that date on the invitations for the Ted/Nicole anniversary party was off by only a day or two.

But then I wondered about the unexpected preemption for the full week of June 30-July 4.  They adjusted the dates on the tickets but that was an easy fix.  However the dialogue for the teens seems off, and that was probably too difficult to adjust ...

They said that Samantha and Tyrell needed to go home after the Articulettes reunion concert because they had school the next day.  No talk of summer school so I think it's still the regular school year.   Perhaps it it still June for the writers?     Maybe Tyrell's crush Jessica just finished the spring semester at Stanford and is now home for the summer?

I know some places in southern USA start the school year in early August.  But Maryland follows the northeastern USA starting the school around Labor Day. 
 This year, some Maryland counties start the school year at the end of August and some start in early September.

We noticed  that the trees around Kenny in the park had no leaves.  We noted that there was no mention of Juneteenth which was really surprising.  Maybe the writers decided to be nonspecific with time (except for dates on tickets) ?  

Errol did say that the show will acknowledge holidays later this year.  But right now time seems vague except for event tickets.

Perhaps I heard the scene wrong, but I thought Jessica said that she had been scouting for college and thus was exploring college campuses which is why we had not seen her in a while. And that her and Ty had had a fight before she left so it's why he didn't mention her.

I used to enjoy Vanessa until she got so smitten with Joey. Now I find her hard to watch. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but it rubs me the wrong way. I definitely don't see her in Joey's league and can't wait to see her get burned. 

The Martin/Smitty scenes have been great. I finally see a chemistry between them that I didn't feel was really there betore. Brandon has improved so much. Seems far more natural. 

Can't wait until we can talk about the episodes around the 200th mark! lol 

-- Shouldn't a supposedly good businessman like Joey know not to put IRS eyes on Vanessa's accounts? This is another business story that makes no sense.

-- And don't get me started on Joey's business being dependent on a couple like Vanessa and Doug.

-- Joey really needs an office or a home set if they plan to keep the character. All these backroom casino scenes are laughable.

-- Is Ashley going to be Joey's daughter? We're not getting rid of Joey, are we? This move would almost be too obvious.

-- Also obvious? That Hayley is faking her pregnancy. Surely this show is not going to blatantly foreshadow one big plot point after another.

-- Hayley should have gone to the ER or to Urgent Care immediately. What's up with this "tomorrow morning" stuff?

-- Very cool of Derek and Jacob to work out hard and then throw their hot, sweaty bodies on the leather furniture at the club.

I think Hayley was planning to continue her fake pregnancy for a while longer, and see the doctor tomorrow while Bill is out of town, so that he wouldn't be able to ask to watch the ultrasound happening live.   The fact that he then scheduled an appointment for her early tomorrow morning and that he doesn't have to go out of town until later in the morning, means he'll be there with her.  So now she's going to have to fake the miscarriage.

I highly doubt it. They are not going to saddle him with a kid right off the bat, especially a character that a large majority of viewers don't even like anyways. Plus, we don't even know if he's going to be white or black. Also, if the writers are intending to keep Joey around long term, they may want to give him some serious roots, and that might include tying him to some other characters on the canvas, like making Ashley his long lost daughter.
