Something that has annoyed me for years, and I'm sure many of you as well, has been resolved.

I'm specifically referring to auto-merging of posts when you want to add something to a post you recently made. Generally, if you want to post something in the same thread but no one else has posted within 15 minutes of your original post, all posts made within that time frame would auto-merge into the same post.

This was often a problem as people would be responding to something you might have said, but didn't see the additional comments you might have made until after they made their post, or not at all.

To keep things cleaner and to stop this problem from continuing, we have finally found a way to remove that setting altogether. This means that all posts you make going forward will appear as separate posts within a thread.

This is either great news for most of you or not so great for others. I'm not really sure, but I know it was something that bothered me.

If this was not the right call, please do let me know.

Update: I should add that because the setting for auto-merging posts has been turned off, a flood control setting is automatically being activated, which means users can't make a new post for at least 3 seconds.
