finally! no question this was worthy of live coverage. but, how hard would it have been for norah, et all, to have just shut the fuc* up at 2pm and gone back to regular programming — like abc did?

Not once, at least in my area, has Beyond the Gates been interrupted for "news". Nor do I need the history lesson as a decades-long soap watcher. In remembering World Turns versus General Hospital at the 2 p.m. hour, CBS is less likely to interrupt in comparison to ABC. This isn't an interruption of [another] school shooting, the orange monster announcing more things to ruin this country, or weather personnel telling us it is raining outside (when we can see it raining outside); it's the election of a new Pope. That's a major thing, especially for a lot of people who are deep in their faith.

Would I rather my show be on? Yes. But am I going to absolutely lose my damn mind over it? No. I'm not. This is not an everyday occurrence (the election of the Pope). This isn't new, and yet people⏤not just here⏤continue to act as if it is a new thing and that it's the end of the world as they know it. It's not.

Nobody is acting like it's the end of the world. This is a thread about Beyond the Gates, people were excited to watch it and are expressing their disappointment that couldn't happen. If anybody needs to chill, it's you.

It should be up on cbs.com and paramount plus
at 4:20pm Eastern time
EDIT, I meant to say 5:20pm

Ted and Bill.
Ted says: I thought you were the fixer, but this has come back to ...
(Ted whining that the plan went wrong and referring to the human involved as "the problem".)

Bill says: I told you there were no guarantees!

Edit:
Ted: You told me the problem was handled. Now the problem has come back with a vengeance.
Bill:  I told you back then that there are no guarantees, when the problem thinks she's in love with you or your considerable assets.

Thank you! It'd be one thing if this was a school shooting or something of true national importance, it's the freaking Pope, of which most Americans don't even GAF

Yet Canada doesn't feel the urge or need to interrupt their programming

If they do not have Dr. Carlton Fitzgeralg chase after Nicole, it would ideal to place him between Eva and Kat.

Its wild that it took them 3 months to have a scene and now they are trying to tell us they were good friends.

Please keep in mind that the major broadcast networks are under a legal requirement to provide national/international news to Americans as part of their broadcasting license. This is why, despite having alternative options, they break into programming, particularly the daytime soaps.

Leslie is a trashy emotionally abusive excuse of a mother. She taunts her , while patronizing and then rages on her about how she's betrayed and made her to feel like ish when thats what she does to Eva

What matters to me is whether the new pope is liberal or conservative on social justice and climate issues.  I don't care about the rest.

Let's face it they break in for every little stupid thing

Let's hope Trump doesn't get a hang nail, cause they'll probably act like that's breaking news 🙄
