Max Brady is still in a relationship or marriage with his niece Chelsea Brady.  They live in London.  This was confirmed by Chelsea at Victor's funeral. I think she was pregnant then?  They now have a son named Isaac.

This is my other blind spot -- the children of Bo Brady's past loves.

Melanie:Carly as Chelsea:Billie -- but it is tough to keep them straight

I dipped out during the Daniel of our Lives period of the show.

Carly also has Nikki (Nicholas) with Lawrence.

The easiest way to remember Chelsea is to think about how she was buried, stillborn, premature in a swamp and came back to life.  Or you can just remember her running over Bo/Hope's kid Zack.  Kind of ballsy to name her kid Issac if you ask me lol.

That was such a dark story. I never liked Swamp girl after that. And then the dating your cousin thing. I think wasn’t Max in a triangle with two of his cousins?

His (adoptive) nieces.  Chelsea and Stephanie.  I think Abby was involved too, but I am not sure if they are related lol.

I would appreciate (if they're not coming), for future scripts to refer to them by their iconic hairdos.  For example, if Hope needs to call Chelsea because Bo has Sepsis, I'd like Shawn-D to say, "My Mom called Chelsea (the one with the sassy short black hair) for an update."

Also, new rule, if Melanie does return, she needs to dye her hair back to red.  I googled who she was five times during Victor's funeral. 😉

Today was very focused on Bo and his illness.

I’m liking how everything is ultimately tied together, even though everybody doesn’t know it yet. The EJ connection seems a little sudden and random though. I’m guessing that that was not on Ron’s agenda. And I’m not really sure why any of these rich people couldn’t help the hospital months ago lol

But I really like how the whole sepsis drug thing is being written a lot more realistically than what we’ve grown accustomed to with Dr. Rolf and all of his wonder drugs. They’re definitely putting more of an effort into this storyline. It feels more real.

Philip was a little whiny and self-pitying today, but I also feel like the writing has improved for him as well. He’s coming off less like a villain and more like a tragic hero. I enjoyed his scene with Stephanie and hopefully it means that at some point, we’ll get a revival of Philip/ Stephanie/Alex. Tying it to Stephanie’s novel could be really good.

And, the dorkiness of Xander and Sarah was really sweet too. I’m looking forward to their weekend together and what secrets may or may not come out lol

I skipped most of Daniel too. I think it's awful he has kids with Nicole, Carly and Chloe and Brady, Bo and Philip do not.

I always hoped they'd change Parker's paternity back to Phillip.  I guess it doesn't matter since Chloe is off the show currently.  I don't recall Holly or Maggie mentioning Parker, so it's not they are close to him.

I am just so happy with the new writing. Everything feels so much more mature. The connections between plots and characters reminds me of the eighties, and I just plain old LIKE everybody.

I very much enjoyed Philip's apology tour with his two exes, and both of them being gracious to him. This version of Philip is so interesting, very flawed, but trying to do better, and I do believe he wanted the brother bond with Xander very much and is hoping to get that back.

Speaking of brothers, we got Xander's first ever mention of his other brother, Bo. And how interesting that Titan is also working on a cure for sepsis. If the one with Dr Russell falls through we have a back up plan.

And the seamless writing continued with Sarah trying to get out of a conference and Kayla needing to get Dr Russell out of town, I love when things just make sense like that.

Shout out to Xander with cucumbers on his eyes lol

And under the new regime I am not hating Stalex. I think this couple was just hammered by Ron by constantly making them sleep with other people. It was hard to root for them when the writer didn't care about them as a pairing, just about getting Rob naked. I am happy to see what happens here too.

Stefan got a get well card to EJ? I wonder if it had a coded HELP ME in the message. Glad Kayla turned him down. She should never forget how he used Steve as a pawn back in the day. Characters are actually remembering this stuff these days.

There's some irony in Philip being forgiven, because it forces everyone to admit that Victor was wrong to change his will.  All the Kiriakises (Kiriakisii?), eventually including Xander, (I presume), seems to think it was wrong for Victor to divide his estate in Xander's favor.

I appreciated Stephanie forgiving Philip, because she's got no skin in that game, and she got zero blow back.  But, Belle's line about Philip missing Xander because he misses Bo did not ring true.  I think Philip would be sad if Bo dies, but I think he's more concerned currently about Xander.  It never felt like Bo and Philip were very closely connected.  In fact, I imagine Philip thinks of Bo as Shawn's dad, more than as his brother.

I am enjoying this EJ mystery so much that I am hereby taking a vow not to read spoilers.

I am also vowing — for the last time — to stop harping on this, but: the concept of a “sepsis treatment” remains absurd. Hospitals prevent sepsis through vigilant infection control; once sepsis sets in, it causes multiple organ failures. Treatment involves supporting each failing organ individually. The notion that a single medication could magically reverse organ failure is medically laughable.

However, I like the contrast of Kim going through cancer, which is incurable in their universe.  Kayla's comment on the health of both of her siblings was both heartbreaking and an interesting twist.  MBE is also totally underrated.  She is carrying the weight of so many stories.

And, I like the use of Kayla as an audience surrogate.  She's arguably the most "real" person in Salem. Kayla isn't psychic, she wasn't SORASed, she's not a billionaire, and she doesn't have a bionic eye.  So, I enjoy that we get her perspective of the nuttiness that surrounds her.

However, I don't get what gives her the authority to turn down EJ's offer.  I understand that they need a hospital figurehead to show us scenes of the competition to buy the hospital.  But, unless the entire administration has been let go, the Chief of Staff wouldn't make those choices.

This Sarah/Xander Lake Geneva weekend getaway trip will either be where Xander finds out that Sarah knew about the Phillip situation, or an emergency happens that prevents them from going.  Brownie points for the Lake Geneva mention since that's the getaway for a lot of people that live in northern Illinois/Chicago.

EJ is kinda hot... though I never thought that about him when the previous actor played him.  I do think a Dimera owning the hospital would be interesting since the Hortons/Brady's have always had a rivalry with the Dimeras... and carrying that over to the hospital would be organic.

Hours later, I'm still wondering, what was EJ's plan in going to the hospital today?

Does he think it's like a car dealership, and you can simply walk in and make an offer?

That's why I laughed when Steve said that Dr. not-Rolf comes and goes.  One gets the sense the people in Salem randomly leave their offices, midday, to talk to relatives and co-conspirators.  I understand, they don't use the phone on soaps.  But, the amount of walking these citizens do in a day is remarkable.

I genuinely in my 20 year history of watching Days can’t recall a single Bo and Phillip scene though I’m assuming there had to be one or two? Phillip was always much more presented as Lucas’ brother due to Kate’s involvement in their love lives and closer age post SORAS. I will say my favorite thing about PR though is he made Bo the only Kiriakis to actually pronounce it like Victor/John Aniston despite Papa Brady obviously being the dad he was associated with.

Abraham!!!!! 😃😃😃😃

Welcome back!!! And I see Abe and Paulina got a new apartment too, which is just a redress of John/Marlena’s, Steve/Kayla’s, etc. But it looks kinda nice. And I enjoyed his scenes with Chanel. It added another perspective to everything that’s been going on with her and Johnny. And Abe using his own history with Lexie to comfort Chanel was a good idea. Plus, it also provided us with more suspicion/red herring about Johnny possibly shooting EJ. I’m looking forward to see what happens between her and Johnny. And I’m so glad that the two of them are on the frontburner now.

Speaking of Johnny, I still have no problem with him going to work for Titan. The drama could be so good, especially once EJ finds out. To me, it seems like another realistic reaction to everything that’s been happening to Johnny lately. It doesn’t seem random and over the top either. And I like that they remembered to have Johnny tell Xander that he has no corporate experience whatsoever. Surprisingly, the two of them work well together. And so do Carson and Deidre. I love how the Marlena/Johnny relationship has been featured so much.

Kayla was still strong and kicking ass today too. The writer change has helped her/Mary Beth so much. But I do admit we should’ve seen Steve trying to get into Dr. Russell’s lab rather than Kayla instructing him over the phone.

And unfortunately, Chad and Cat still don’t seem to be doing much for me though.

The cliffhanger was ok too.

Btw, Days was trending at #4 this morning on Peacock 👍
