For all those guessing Wee Rachel was the shooter. I think that story is commencing now they have ruled out Kristen, Ava, Gabi, Johnny, Roman and Kate

I still suspect they won't show a kid holding and shooting a gun.

I think she stabbed him, and then someone else shot him to cover it up.

I actually like Alex/Gabi.   I didn't mind JJ/Gabi, but I agree JJ is a bore.

I am confused as to why Brady is on the hospital board?  Something to do with Isabella, I assume?

If Rachel is the shooter the recast makes a bit more sense.

That would make sense; he is to DAYS as the Quartermaines are to GH, in terms of the hospital board. If only DAYS had a hospital worth being a board member of. 🤐

They said Kate was on the board too.  I am confused if that's all new developments or we always knew that.  I really have no idea why Kate would be on the hospital board.

She needs something to do, I guess? Maybe it's part of her previous DiMera life with Stefano?

Admittedly I haven't watched in a while, but I do skim recaps.  Clearly I missed something because...  the hospital has always been "Salem UNIVERSITY Hospital", so why is it for sale?  Why isn't it part of the university?

They're not doing a storyline about universities and educational grants losing funding, are they? It's just a corporation rivalry business storyline which makes no sense (to me).

I thought it might be either a Victor or Dimera thing.  Both seem plausible.  I just don't know why Kate would care about the hospital much lol.  It would obviously be a conflict of interest for her to vote either way, but so would Brady's vote.

I am overthinking it lol.

It is completely illogical, unless Salem University, the City of Salem, the state Salem-land, and the federal government of Sa-landia have also gone bankrupt.

But, I am trying to put that aside, because for storytelling purposes, it makes sense to have a prize that the audience can see.

I don't think you're overthinking; I'd imagine it's more of a DiMera thing, given her marriages to two DiMera men.

Makes sense.  I was thinking Kate might have started on the board when Victor was in a coma and just continued to be on it. I know there was a Toscano foundation for Isabella, so you would assume John and Victor were on the board and perhaps let Brady take over?

I can't remember if Stefano/Andre/Tony were ever interested in the hospital, but I would bet they were at some point.

I don't know why EJ thinks Brady OR Kate would vote in his favor, especially after he threatened Kate and her sons.

Who knows? If it's something that hasn't been developed in-story, maybe this regime could give it to us, finally?!?!

Random Hump Day Reactions

Despite my better judgment about commenting on appearances—what is going on with Philip’s skin? He looks distractingly sunburned. Did the makeup team forget to use foundation? Or powder? Or that they’re broadcasting in high definition?

Meanwhile, Kristen looked like the saddest Alice in Wonderland. The dirndl was cute, but everyone in that mansion could desperately use a pop of primary color—and a reason to smile.

It’s one thing for Belle to be blinded by love for EJ. It’s another for her to hear him admit to kidnapping Rachel and treat it like a punchline. Overall, there's zero urgency from anyone about getting Rachel or Kat back to Salem. Most of the time, Kristen and Cat seem to forget their long-lost mothers are still being held elsewhere against their will. At least when Doc, Kayla, and Kate went missing, people cared. Paulina even talked to that urn! (Still waiting to find out who was in the urn, by the way…)

Raise your hand if you believe Rachel innocently brought up Tate’s baby. If your hand is up, do not click on any suspicious email links today. You’re vulnerable.

And finally, deep breaths: Jamey—or someone he edits—named the miracle drug Versavix. Fun fact: real drug names are developed by branding teams after the research is done. Versavix sounds like the draft name someone scribbled during a Red Bull crash and forgot to replace. This isn’t even a good fake drug name. It’s like they forgot that the same show once gave us a literal ‘love potion’ that made Sami fall for Austin. Versavix makes me nostalgic for the days of ‘L-dopa’ and Stefano’s mind control chips, at least they didn’t sound like a discontinued allergy medication. (crud, another day, another broken promise to stop complaining about this).

@JAS0N47 Is Paulina's living room set new or repurposed?

Looks like the Townhouse to me, I've been calling it Paulina's Townhouse (which Marlena and Kayla also use).

I assume the target audience is as distracted as I am by the plot hole that University Hospital does not own a means of production for Versavix, and that's where the profits are found. Researchers at publicly funded universities can profit from successful drug discoveries, but it is often a small percentage compared to the profits of the pharmaceutical company.  Thus, it makes no sense why both Xander and EJ would try to buy the hospital (and its right to the invention).  As opposed to buying a pharmaceutical company, which would make exponentially more profit from Versavix, as well as the many patents that they now own on Dr. Rolf's research!

And, that if Xander benefitted from his wife's knowledge about a drug being researched at her hospital, and one day later he made a bid for said hospital, that's called fraud as it is akin to insider trading.

For example, if my husband was a real estate agent, and he told me to buy this undervalued property because he knew there was a $1,000,000 diamond buried under the toilet.  That would be fraud, because his duty would be to get the best price for his client.  But, if he would directly profit, because as my husband he would get half of the profits from the diamond, that's fraud.

And that's what Sarah did.

She waited until the hospital was worth nothing to tell her husband to buy now for cheap, because it will be worth a fortune in future due to the drug (information she thought nobody knew but Kayla). Thus, she profits from the University's misfortune.  And once again, Sarah is the true evil mastermind of Salem. 😉🤑
