I love when soaps do this, and while I don't watch B&B, that's cool what they did there.

This may not truly count, but I'm going to throw out AMC's Dixie singing "You Are My Sunshine" to JR as a child and then again to her grandchild, Little Adam.  I couldn't find the first original version, but this montage captures it perfectly.  I was so obsessed with Dixie/Tad and their whole love affair in the 90s.  Truly heartbreaking, emotional stuff.

As I loathe Jon, I couldn't even hazard a guess about when it happened. And maybe it's supposed to be, but the original fountain was at Billy and Vanessa's. I'm not sure where Jon's was.

I also remember that same episode/week they gave Mariah, Sally Mcguire's iconic line from the first episode, about "what a drag it is to be stuck in a place like GC, and how she feels so Restless"....

That exit never seemed right for Liz to me (granted, she had left before and came back again to your point).

In addition to Elsie's exit, it was also a rip off of Julie Goodyear's/Bet's iconic 1995 exit, but with none of the heart and bittersweet emotion of either exit, IMO.

I always thought that Y&R recreation was wasted on introducing  a Phyllis recast. They should have saved it up for the 40th or 50th and tied it into a more momentous event.

That was undoubtedly inspired by the last scenes from "Upstairs, Downstairs" when Rose (Jean Marsh) walked around the now empty house (which had been sold) remembering people and events from the past.

I treasure Bet, but that doesn't quite work for me either. The part where she is standing in front of the cab and giving a bit of an inspirational speech is a little too much like Elsie, a little too self-conscious, and I get the sense Julie doesn't believe in it. The moment in the pub where she is leaving, and looks at herself in the mirror, the, "Easy when you know how," is much stronger.

Everything about Liz's exit, and Liz's last decade on the show, is a failure.

Knots Landing did this when Valene moved back into her old home in season 13. It's well done there.

Thanks. I couldn't stand that.

Few shows lodge inside their own asses the way EE does. It's not great.

I also hate all the trumpet references with Sonia. They had her blowing trumpets in her last scene. Just sad. She blew more trumpets than she had storylines.

This was so great.  I'm also still trying to find the very first one when JR was a child.  But this is so great, even if Dixie's hair wasn't in that moment hahah.  She definitely had the most hair styles of any soap actress I think.

    • -- I love a good build, and the show has made me look forward to Winterfest. But some things seem so forced.  -- For example, the Vernon/Sharon meetups. GMAB. It's so obvious what this is and they're playing it too hard for too long.  I think one purpose is to make Leslie look like a fool, but it's hard to take. Is the tour over for Sharon? Does she sit in the hotel room all day long waiting for Vernon? Is he paying her bills? It's dumb.  -- Leslie is an awful human. I don't think she gives a rat's ass about Peaches. She cares more about Eva's sex life.  -- Izaiah and Eva have nice chemistry, but their conversation seemed forced to me. Didn't sound like first date dialogue and was too on the nose.  -- Shanice was great in taking down Leslie. I'm so glad the writing didn't have Leslie land the biggest smackdown. Dr. Wilkes was also great.  -- Again, Leslie is spending like she's worth a bajillion dollars. This has to be written for laughs.  -- I've done a complete turnaround on June. I now think she's a great addition.  -- Martin and Smitty are so concerned that Tyrell learn about Banneker that they call in a guy who started work there this week?

-- Tyrell is so much more mature than Samantha. I hate the way she treats him and talks about him in front of others.  She really sat there and asked Jessica why she's even with Tyrell. Samantha is pathetic.    Screenshot time: -- If I can get Fish & Fries at Orphey Gene's for $5, why is a glass of juice $4 ? -- That Mr & Mr sign at Martin and Smitty's is beyond lame and tacky.
    • So do I. Jack actually treats her like an equal partner. And he’s done far less evil things Nikki has just to ignore including to his own kids than Victor any day.
    • This 11/17 episode was extremely lazy and boring. That Adam and Chelsea opening scene was so cringe and out of character for both.  Billy Flynn is being wasted and I was only interested in Claire and Holden.    Every character feels the same with no actual personality.
    • Ugh...right? At least if Chris Bernau had been able to continue in the role, it would've been intriguing to watch Alan manipulate Reva.
    • Yes, it was. Dinah had started to soften after Henry's heart attack in March. After Paige Turco took over the role, the attitude is turned way, way down. The thing about Vanessa was, she could be very territorial. If Dinah had gone to Lillian (who had befriended Dinah before she knew Vanessa was her mother), that would've stung a bit, but Van probably would've understood. But Dinah getting advice from Ross' new girlfriend would not have sat well with her, the same way Van later bristles anytime Nadine tries to stake some kind of role in Bill's life. @DeeVee  I know it's been brought up before, but I hadn't really connected Long breaking up Ross/Van to the fact that she'd neither created that backstory or been responsible for giving them a love child.  I wonder what she would've done had she been there when Jordan left, and had to break Billy/Van up.
    • Yes it was The Young and the Restless.
    • I would love for Rick and Amber to come back and Amber to be involved with Deke somehow

The show does look great though!
    • Well, she just said "ladies" on the show but she didn't specify they were fellow actresses. It could have been some of the women behind the scenes of the show. There was a lot in the interview that wasn't clear to me.
    • Now would’ve been a great time to get the next A plot going, versus Bill and Katie and Steffy and Liam rehashing the same BS about Luna we have been hearing for weeks.
    • I feel it could benefit from a focus on one of their three A stories or a solid B plot. But right before the turnover from Guza to Thomson, outside of all things Dani...there's nothing too A story-ish going on. Still entertaining for me, but it's noticeable that there is not a main story with other B/C stories going on. It's just...a bunch of stories going on.    I do hope the build to Winterfest and us actually seeing it THIS month will get things moving again.    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
