May 24, 2025May 24 Member So another week goes by w/o Dumas appearing. I'm pretty sure it's Billy Flynn. Dumas was said to be a fake name so will he be someone from the past? Having reactions to the Abbott redo is not a storyline or worthy of being in the previews-just proves how lackluster the stories are. At this rate, they can have anyone who has ever visited the Abbott house pop in and give their verdict to Diane.

Rodriguez will appear in four episodes, first airing Wed May 28 US (Tues May 27 CDN). Source: USWeekly confirmed by SOD I'm speechless too as the Abbott home looks like something my great aunt might have loved...not Diane. Why is Victoria dressed like Miss Piggy in the Muppets Take Manhattan?

Why is Victoria dressed like Miss Piggy in the Muppets Take Manhattan? The term 'funeral home' has been mentioned. And someone should tell Traci that larger older women are no longer are limited to wearing ugly floral long line tops and sporting sensible matronly hair-dos.

I also think she would get Devon and Abbey off of recurring, and start acting like Abbey is a part of the Newman's, again. And she will probably start to write Adam as interesting and reboot Adam/Sharon. lol Didn’t Mark Grossman and Sharon Case date briefly in real life? Seems like there might be some awkwardness there. I’m ok with Adam pairing up with anyone but Sally. Chelsea/Adam and Sharon/Adam both have big fandoms and could drive good future story so I’m ok with either.

God knows why...all 3 characters have been trashed. Chelsea should go and Sharon and Adam should not be involved again. That ship has sailed.
May 24, 2025May 24 Member Like it or not, it’s pretty much the last popular pairings we’ve had from that group. No writers since have been able to create anything that has been able to generate as much hype.

Mishael Morgan is the one who decided to go recurring, due to her living in Canada with her family. A change in producer (if she even is a new producer) is not going to change that.
May 24, 2025May 24 Member Maybe JFP is back to help sort out production issues and a way of managing budget/taping that makes better use of the set situation. Because something needs to be done. When an episode begins and we see a character walk into empty Crimson Lights a feeling of dread creeps in , only increased by the next scene set at Society... Compounding the issue is the fact that the conversations taking place are hardly compelling.

I'm not saying she's good, but she's better than what we have. What's the worst she can do, burn the ranch down again?
May 24, 2025May 24 Member I was just thinking last night how the Y&R universe feels condensed and smaller. The world of Genoa City seems so watered down now and there’s less storylines happening. I remember when there were like EIGHT different storylines happening simultaneously.. granted they weren’t all getting a ton of airtime but character and storyline development was always happening on the back burner and they would each have a turn to come to the front burner. JG has all his eggs in this Dumas story? Really? And then what else is happening? Kyle/Claire? And it’s not even good. Another thing.. I am fully okay with having more storylines and having them be more ISOLATED. I don’t need everyone in town crossing paths and being involved in each others [!@#$%^&*]. It feels like I’m watching big brother or something. It’s not soapy and doesn’t feel believable when everyone’s up in each others business. There’s so many characters that could be having their own stories without having to pop up 2-5 times a month to prop up the one LAME storyline happening at that time. It’s almost as if JG can’t handle the juggling act that comes with balancing multiple storylines at once and making it work. It’s much easier for him to focus one 1 or maybe 3 stories at the absolute most and make the entire cast on Y&R centre around those. It’s super [!@#$%^&*] lame. Ok rant over.
May 25, 2025May 25 Member Again, I think the budget is playing a big part in how the show is constructed. A lot of the actors are on low guarantees so they can't be on too much, there no extra sets available etc. That's why stories like Mariah/Tessa are on for a few days and basically a retelling of offscreen events. Also, having characters sitting at a table for most of the episode means less need for rehearsal, thus saving time and money.

Although I don’t see how it could. Maybe it’s too late now and we just have to take what we can get until it’s inevitable cancellation.
