"Jason Vendryes (Ruthless) is joining the cast of Beyond the Gates as a mysterious stranger who impacts the lives of Clifton Davis’ Vernon and Brandon Claybon’s Martin. 
Vendryes will begin recurring as Kenny on the CBS sudser starting in May. He begins watching Vernon and Martin but no one is sure what he wants."

Interesting.  So the Martin secret might be revealed in May?   Or maybe the "Kenny" character's mystery involvement starts in May with a reveal later on?

I thought for sure he'd be a Derek recast when I saw the picture lol. I'm glad they're about to start amping up the Martin story. I love the way they keep rotating the main stories so there is always something big to look forward to. I also think it was smart to hold off on the Martin story and give us a chance to get to know him and Smitty. I feel like I'll be more receptive to this in May that I would have while they figured out their chemistry and how to make their characters work.

There's a Youtube channel with some video shorts of this particular individual.  While he isn't exactly Shakespeare, he does seem to have some acting ability.

I said on the main article in my Jennifer Jolie voice hehe he's probably the a person who's related to the person who is involved in Martin's secret. 

 

Most definitely happy to hear that it will be getting its A story time in the sun.

You bring up a good point! There has been quite a lack of shirtless eye candy on BTG. I wonder why.
