Banner-flying antics:  Rabid fans of Y&R's Lily&Cane pairing (Christel Khalil and Daniel Goddard).  Those fans paid lots of money to have banners flown from airplanes over the studio, long story. It left a bad taste in my mouth.
Fans did what fans do, I get that -- this isn't about them. I can't critique fans of pairings for simply being fans.

The issue for me was that DG encouraged the banners and fan adulation. It's hard to describe accurately.   It wasn't what it said, but how he said it. He comes off as smarmy/unctuous -- what I mean is... seemingly outwardly oh so gracious and charming, but in a way that felt more egotistical underneath, almost creepy.  He wanted attention.

It's one thing to be politely grateful at unusual shows of fan attention.  It's a whole other thing to be intentionally stoking that attention.

And then when CK had moved on, the show wanted to pair DG with Beth Maitland, and he actively sabotaged that.

OMG!!! But thanks so much for the quite involved extrication. I mean, he sounds like a creep.

It boggles my mind that Daniel Goddard lasted 12 years on Y&R.

And could have lasted longer if he didn't self-sabotage.

I like Jax.  If you take Ingo out of the equation, I think there is a lot Jax can do still.  He's a much better Sonny rival than whatever villain of the year GH pulls out.  Carly, Lois, Nina are all potential love interests.   He can throw Joss into the ocean for all I care about her lol.   I still wish Brenda's son was Jax's because that would be so much better than Joss or random Balkan grandson.

He's not a character you necessarily need in a very trim cast, but in a cast that is already so bloated you do wonder why he isn't there. I agree that he could be a good alternative in that age range to a group of men who are all very played out. And even though I have no use for Joss, it might add another dimension to her story if he is around. He could give her some corporate job and she might end up paired with some long lost Q (who is probably also a spy or whatever).

The hilarious thing I remember the most was the way Cane was also written out too. Not to mention I think they let Goddard film his final scenes without telling.

All of the sudden Cane became the prime suspect stealing Devon’s money and I recall Jill & Devon had found out everything about him was a con and he left with his tail between his legs lol. I think?

I think they mentioned it was Colin after all, but they barely mention Cane ever lol.

Yes, exactly.  It's not like I exactly miss Jax or wonder how he would react to certain situations. It's more of why Jagger, Natalia, Sidwell, etc and not Jax?  His daughter is front burner and he has a long rivalry with Sonny that is based on history not just blowing up Sonny's penthouse on a whim lol.  I am sure Ingo's various lawsuits are in play here.  I just don't understand why we are pretending Carly/Brennan are a thing when Jax would solve that piece of the canvas easily.

As I've said before, my only reason to bring back Jax (recast) would be to bring on a prominent and substantial love interest for Lois. Rena Sofer needs a real story of her own and Jax could be part of that. But so could a new character.

Disrespect per disrespect.

Heck didn't Devon get his money back off-screen?

Yep. Could use organic history but instead let's *looks at notes* bring on more newbies and prop them up by any means necessary.

If I were deciding Jax would not only never return but die offscreen. Go ahead & let Joss become a gazillionaire & also can she have Emma for her new partner?

Yes he did lol, by February he made the big announcement it was back around the same time Lily returned for good. 🤣

THIS.  You could definitely bring on a new character and it could work.  Jax just has a long history of loving (the idea at least) Lois.   It would be a full circle thing.  I love Brenda/Jax probably more than anyone on this board, but that well is dry.  I think Lois/Jax would make a good couple.  Plus, you could easily put him in Nina or Carly's orbits as well.  GH introduces so many new characters it would be nice to have a Jax recast instead.

I'll go along with a Jax (recast)/Lois romance since we KNOW a Ned/Lois reunion ain't happening.

Frankly, the way he openly tried to rally his [stupid] fans against a pairing (or hell, a simple flirtation) with Beth Maitland felt very fatphobic. Like somehow he felt it was offensive to him for the show to pair him with a plus sized woman. He was an albatross on Y&R for years and he only has himself to blame for being fired and for almost totally erased there.
