I do not remember him being bad at all back then.  Now he’s awful.

Everyone automatically forgiving and falling over Carter while they vilify Hope is so badly done.  They’ve waited too late to care whether she ever lashes out at all.  I saw the day Liam hit his s head and I saw the weird encounters with Daphne sniffing and slinking around - by now we are supposed to believe that Eric, Ridge, Steffy - all knew about and engineered Daphne or knew about it 100% and none of them mentioned it to or told anyone??? On this show?  No one - even the old standard Charlie “heard” by now is unrealistic even among unrealistic.

Daphne is worse than “cigarettes cigarillos” May on Guiding Light.

-- Are we supposed to be afraid of Sheila when she squints and threatens to snap Popp ylike a twig?

-- Hearing Sheila tell Poppy she's a terrible mother was hilarious.

-- Q: Who did Brooke's hair today? A: No one.   I guess she's too busy saying Ridge is the love of her life to pick up a brush.

-- Meanwhile, Electra was so overstyled it was crazy. The continuity from Friday was way off. On Friday, Electra hurriedly left the Forrester office when she told Will she had a meeting after getting a text. Luna arrived with the pizza seconds later.

Today, Luna and Will are still talking but Electra is at home relaxing with a sketch pad and complaining that she doesn't want to give it up to Will yet.

-- Where is Remy? Is Brad Bell bored with him already?

Uhhh...hmmm.

I can't say it was bad, but I can't say that it was good either. It just feels like a lot is happening. But waiting for something to stick.

WHAT I LIKED

DEACON V CARTER. I can't say that I hated it. While it did seem abrupt for Deacon to be there, it's always a moment when a battle looks real which it looked like it was. Also...loved what Daphne had on. Though she really should have been quiet.

FINN/BILL. I can't help it. They don't have enough scenes and I've enjoyed them being around each other since Sinn's reunion after Sheila 'killed' him. So good to have a scene even if it's just Finn picking on him about Luna. Though it's funny all these characters are at the hospital and don't know that Steffy is there and Liam is hurt.

SHE'S STARTING...and by she I meant SHEILA. Now that she has a grandchild, there she goes again scheming. But Sheila is at her best when she's scheming. I'm only worried Brad will write her into a corner again.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE

HEFFA, WHY YOU CARE? And by heffa, I mean Brooke. She's being all upset about Hope when she's the one that drove her away. I was surprised Hope even came by the house and even held a conversation with her.  Right now, there's just too much tension there.

LIAM. Outside of seeing Grace still in town, I suuure didn't care for him almost dying. Is this how they are planning to write out Steffy when JMW goes on her next maternity leave? I hope not. They are better off trying Liam with Ivy again...except now with Liam and Bill on the outs, he might not want his brother around Bill which would cause tension for Ivy and Electra.

SPEAKING OF GRACE...I guess BTG has spoiled me cuz that wig...chiiiiild. But also...she's too good an actress to be just a typical cameo doctor.

LMAO Brooke Logan, telling someone to have class and to respect relationships

the jokes write themselves

That fight with The Psycho and the Groomer was beyond stupid

I heard Katie and Brooke today talking about how to get Ridge back - basically.  Turned that right off to CNN for 1/2 hour.  So demeaning - Ridge needs a shave and a bath after 10 years.

Embarrassing, starting with that poorly-directed slap. The fight was so paint-by-numbers -- with no laughs, no fear, no nothing.

Demeaning, for sure. Sad that Heather Tom has to fill her episode guarantee this way.

All I could do was look at Katie's shiny face and 5-foot long hair extensions.

I came to this thread to talk about this because it really was hilarious for her to say that. It's understandable she wants to stand up for her daughter but that was not something she should say with a straight face. Class has never been her strong suit.

I love Brooke dearly, but self-awareness has never been one of her strong suits.

(Although to be fair, that is a character flaw she shares with most of the cast of B&B)

LOL! I don't know how KKL said that with a straight face. Brooke can't even respect Ridge and Taylor's relationship and she sure as heck didn't do much to stop Hope from trying to interfere in Steffy and Finn's.

Oh it was so far gone 10 plots ago. She is a cartoon with the plastic mask as if someone would not have known it was her; Sheila coming back for Eric vs. Quinn - both villainous gone too far; their redemptions are both 5 minute jobs, and onward; this show is as bad as DAYS got.

    • Forgive me because this stretches the topic a bit, but I cannot stop thinking about this line in Barbara Rush's (aka AMC Nola Orsini, Ted's mother & Flamingo Road's Eudora Weldon) wiki bio.

The quote comes from an article about Rush's daughter Claudia Cowen who is a reporter for Fox News.  Rush's ex-husband was one of the biggest publicists in Hollywood.  And, she had a famous house in Bel Air.  But, I want to know how at 70 years old, she wound up at the Lloyd Estate, which is huge, and had been owned by Ron Burkle and Ted Field. Ms. Rush died last year with dementia.
    • When does Liam die? I just want to watch B&B for his death scene and funeral

    • That's right, Kim Zimmer was pregnant with Jake Weary when Reva was pregnant with Shayne.  I don't think I've seen a photo of Mr. Weary, but from what I can tell Jake looks so much like his mother.
    • The show of late has had me in hog heaven, LOL! But, really, my soaps & I are getting along just fine.  GH is excellent. BTG is beyond fabulous. DAYS is so much better.  What more could I possibly ask for? I know, 30 hours in a day?!!!
    • At the start of 1982 under Ellis/Hunt (on CBS) SFT was solidly in the middle of the 13 soaps pulling in between a 7.5 and 6.5 with high 20s share. The final week on CBS the show garnered a 6.3/23. The first week on NBC and mostly thereafter, the ratings were in the middle 3s with a 12 share! I I think under Tomlin 1 and under Glynn the show might have hit over a 4 and 14 but one week only or so.  Capitol didn't get those numbers until middle of summer and in the first few months hit the 4s and low 5. By year end it was in the low 6s/23 share but struggled for the remainder of its run.   NBC's Search was never going to get 6 / 23 shares but when they were solidly in the high 3s and 12/13 share they invariably fired the writers and producer. Dumb.
    • Wasn't there talk of bringing back Dan Kennicott at some point?  Like, sometime during the late '90's or early '00's?
    • Cliff was Logan's protégé, from the time he was a legal clerk up and until he became ADA. I think you have to have seen Deborah's father for that relationship to make sense, it is very Oedipal.  Mr. Saxon was a charming mobster and was briefly involved romantically with Geraldine.
    • If the actors in question had studied Agnes Nixon's character naming conventions, they could've saved themselves a lot of disappointment. In Pine Valley, there's no way that Wally is going to win in a romantic entanglement with Sean.  Just as Dan Kennicott was never going to be as intriguing as Benny Sago. She was more subtle than Bill Bell, and I can't be certain she even personally named all of these men.  But there is a pattern to be studied. Cliff Warner wasn't as emotionally driven as his name would suggest, but we knew Sean and Linda meant trouble before they even appeared on-screen.
    • There's also an audio-only clip on YT where Gail lashes out at Monica after learning she had had an affair with her late husband (not knowing or understanding, of course, that, in fact, he had raped Monica).  I remember listening to that years ago and thinking, "Wow, now I see why Douglas Marland enjoyed writing for her!"
    • It would be so CAMP if she just showed up dressed like this to the hospital or a Dupree family function and pretended to be Nicole
