You're welcome. It really is a great channel. Not at all morbid, since it focuses on the decedents' lives...

I agree.

The show sure has been good as we wind up Ron's tenure, almost like someone was rewriting these last scripts.

I hope we get a definitive answer someday as to why Ron's final weeks were such an improvement.

Ron was tweaking the April scripts last year that were written by the strike writers,  I am certain Paula and Jeanne were doing the same

As a spoiler free man, I'm very excited about what is to come, which I know nothing about beyond some casting news. However, the show has kept me invested steadily since November, with the obvious bad things notwithstanding.

But also, Haiduk's Susan makes me want to do physical harm.

The Belle and Philip scenes were a nice surprise and perfectly what each character needed. How long until they bang? Belle to help rinse EJ out of her hair and Philip to keep himself away from Sarah after they have a one night stand (personal speculation.)

I also wish Philip would start his own small company from scratch that deals in something specific, like Gabi with Gabi Chic, where he can prove his worth to others, the audience, and himself. Obviously, his self-made success should come with its hurdles, but once it proves worthwhile then whoever is running Titan at the time could try to bring him and his new product/company into the fold. But Philip would wonder, even though he thought it was his dream, has his newfound success away from Titan been more fulfilling than he realized? And whoever ends up working for him could give him some new dynamics. For some reason, Tate, freshly graduated, is the first that came to mind, who wouldn't want to work with his Dad for his own pride's sake etc...

We’ve finally made it!

Good-bye Ron Carlivati!

You’ve written some good things, you’ve written some bad things, you’ve written some things that deserved a major ass whoopin’. And you subjected us to the worst writer in existence for no reason other than the fact that he kissed your ass.

Like I said before, if he was fired, he has absolutely no one to blame but himself.

Luckily, it looks like he’s on his best behavior at BTG, which surprises me because I honestly thought he would be miserable there and that he only took the job for the paycheck. And I hope it  continues to work out, because as we saw on Days sometimes, he actually is a pretty good writer when he doesn’t let his obsessions, his biases, his obvious mommy issues and God only knows how many other issues, do the writing for him.

In the mean time, I’m really looking forward to what Paula and Jeanne can do with Days. A different take/style is definitely the thing that Days needs more than anything after so many years.

As for today’s episode, it wasn’t that bad, even though Susan was annoying. Does she really need to be around for “humor”?

I’m sure we all expected EJ to not remember who shot him. But I like that he remembered Belle telling him that she loved him. I’m interested in seeing where the two of them go from here, especially now that Ron is gone.

Chad/Johnny was the best part of today. I really enjoy their relationship and that Johnny has someone to talk to about everything that he’s been through lately. And I like that Johnny refused to go see EJ. Having them be at odds for a long time is definitely the right move for this storyline. Plus, it would open up so many more story possibilities for them and everyone around them, especially now that the adoption seems to be happening. Btw, I can’t help but think that Amy being so on board with the adoption and so forgiving of Chanel after she confessed that she lied is a sign of something.

Tate and Sophia were nice too, even though their scenes were a little boring. Holly or Doug III really should have walked in and seen them together. Tate looks good in plaid though 😉😂😂

And as for Gabi and Cat forming a friendship, I don’t mind it. It could be interesting, considering the mystery of EJ’s shooting.

I don't think Sarah and Philip would betray Xander in that way. The lies are plenty without adding sex to it.

Ron went out with a whimper and, of course, featuring one of of James Reilly's worst excesses, Susan Banks, played annoyingly by Stacy who should have been gone years ago (all the Kristen characters as well as Stacy). Ron injected Days with Reillyesque crap overlaid with Fire Island camp overlaid with Giddens' low rent trash take on soaps (stuck in Dynasty bitch slap mode, cat fight, catty mode). The worst of Ron's excesses was all the back from the dead and regurgitated villains who escaped prison to move plots along because he was too lazy and uninspired to create new villains. I wish Jean and Paula the best but they will quickly jump the shark if they feature doppelgängers, Haddie, Bonnie or or Orpheus, Ava, Vivian, Kristen, Stefano's shadow (who am I missing of the tired ass villains Ron resurrected time and again). Ron aka Megan McTavish, good riddance.  Sadly, Michele Val Jean thought these two fools were worthy of adding to her huge writing staff for Beyond the Gates which is whimpering out of the gate for the most part.

I'm on the final 12 episodes of the "writer's" regime, and it's torturous. But it's all in the name of welcoming actual talent back into the head writer position; now we just need to wait for the next executive producer change.

Frankly, I couldn't care less what happens to EJ and Belle, or to EJ in general.  He raped Sami.  I'm not here for yet another rapist receiving their "redemption arc" on soaps.  Dan Feuerriegel might be cute, but he can go.

All the more reason why I think he didn’t know he was gonna be fired

Oh, I don’t want that. EJ should be the permanent villain and Belle should eventually go back with Shawn.

But I’m interested in seeing the storyline play out

Frankly, I'm not even down with that.  If you can't kill him off or send him to jail, then just have him leave Salem in disgrace, never to return.
